Chapter 1155 - The Knockouts (5)

Name:Journey Towards Greatness Author:
The crowd is on the edge of their seats as they watched the mushroom cloud slowly disappear into thin air and what is revealed surprised them.

They saw a massive crater in the middle of the battlefield with two pokemons right in the middle of it, Tyranitar still standing while looking down on the Aggron while the Aggron is on its knees looking down.

Smoke could be seen rising of both pokemons, the crowd is really surprised after seeing this result, even after such a huge explosion neither party moved one bit but soon some of them started to notice things are not right.

The referee also noticed something was off and approached the two pokemon and when he got near he saw that Aggron was knocked out cold, it's just kneeling on the ground unconscious while the Tyranitar is still conscious and looking down on its opponent with its fierce cold eyes.

The referee gulped down his saliva as he looked at the Tyranitar and announced the result.

Referee "Aggron is unable to battle, Tyranitar wins"

The referee called the result, as soon as he announced the result, the silent crowd gasped in shock and then burst into cheer, they didn't expect this kind of end at the very first round and this trainer that they have been overlooking now looks very formidable.

Titus was the most shocked of them all, his Aggron was his ace for this league and it got knocked out on the very first exchange, he clenched his teeth and cursed his bad luck and sent his Aggron back to its Pokeball, and sent out his next pokemon.

A Pangoro entered the battlefield, just like his Aggron this Pangoro looks powerful and menacing but how would it fare against the mighty Tyranitar of Julio.

If one just looks at the typing of these pokemon, one would easily favor the Pangoro as it has a 4x times advantage over the Tyranitar because of its fighting time as Tyranitar is 4x weak to fighting type attacks but it really doesn't make any difference because many pokemons can learn a fighting type move.

The real question is if Pangoro can take hits from Tyranitar, it was able to take down an Aggron which is clearly bulkier than it but Aggron are really not known for their special defense, Pangoro does have a little better special defense compared to Aggron but the difference is so minimal that it won't even matter in the battle.

From what everyone has witnessed, Tyranitar only needs one big hit to eliminate its opponent.

Titus knew he has to be careful with his approach from now on, he severely underestimated his opponent and it cost him his ace, he is not going to make the same mistake again.

Julio doesn't seem to have any intention of switching his pokemon either so the battle was started again, this time Titus decided to go for the legs and bring down the giant.

Titus "Use Low Sweep"

Hearing his command his Pangoro charged at Tyranitar at full speed but when it got close, it suddenly lowered its body and slid towards Tyranitar as fighting energy engulfed its legs, if this hits it will be able to bring down the giant and Titus will have a better chance of winning this battle.

Julio "Stone Edge"

Julio waited for the very last moment to make this move, as soon as Pangoro got close to Tyranitar, it lifted one of its legs surrounding it with rock energy and smashed it hard on the ground causing a ripple to pass through the whole battlefield as suddenly a massive blue glowing rock shot out of the ground and impaled the incoming Pangoro.

The giant Pangoro that weighs over 150 kg was launched high up in the sky, though it was not out closed, it is quite vulnerable right now and the damage that Stone Edge dealt stunned it.

Julio "Finish it, Focus Punch"

As Pangoro took flight, Tyranitar started to build up energy in its right hand and as soon as Pangoro came close to the ground Tyranitar smashed its right arm into Pangoro's belly and sent it rolling through the battlefield across the lines and into the very edge of the battlefield.

Everyone cheered as they thought that Pangoro was done but to their surprise, it still had some fighting spirit and wanted to get back to its feet, it was able to manage itself upon its legs but it was in a wobbly state.

It made its way towards the center of the battlefield with all its energy but then collapsed right in the middle as it has no ounce of energy inside it.

The referee approached Pangoro to check on it and soon called for the result.

Referee "Pangoro is unable to battle, Tyranitar wins, the trainer to advance to top 32 is trainer Julio"

The referee called for a result which got a very loud pop, people were filled with surprise, shock, excitement, sadness, surprise, and shock because an unknown trainer defeated one of the favorite finalists, excitement because they wanted to see more of Julio's battles and sadness for Titus as some of them wanted to see him advance as well.
