Burgh "Let's start the battle then"
Burgh said and signaled the referee to step in, soon a man wearing a black and white stripe shirt walked in and took his place as a referee and started to announce the rules of this battle.
Referee "This battle will be a three on three pokemon battle, during the battle only the challenger is allowed to switch pokemons in the middle of the battle, the person who has no pokemon in his team at the end of the battle loses. Am I clear?"
The referee gave the rules and looked at both Julian and Burgh for their approval to start the battle, once he got both of their nods and waved his flags and started the battle.
Burgh sent out his first pokemon by tossing up the Pokeball in the air, his first pokemon is a Whirlipede, a bug poison type.
Julian decided to use Boldore as his first pokemon, first, he will deal with the Whirlipede then he will think about what to do next.
Julian sent out Boldore which caused a reaction from the crowd because they have seen what this rock pokemon can do, able to take out a fully evolved pokemon is no small task and this Boldore has done it.
Burgh also gets serious as he knows he is at a disadvantage, he needs to play smart and not get hit by one of Boldore's attack but playing defense won't help, he has to keep his Whirlipede moving so it won't get targeted and shot at with those devastating Power Gems, no trainer wants their pokemon to get hit by something that hits like a minigun.
Burgh "Whirlipede, use Rollout"
Burgh started off smart by calling Rollout, this will increase the power behind the attack every second and it will also keep Whirlipede in momentum and won't get targeted by Boldore.
Julian "It's not good to base your strategies with only the things you have seen on the internet"
Julian said and smiled while suddenly calling out an Earthquake, Boldore smashed the ground with his legs and sent a tremor running down the battlefield, earth energy traveled across and hit Whirlipede and sent it flying up in the sky while the ground is left with many cracks.
Whirlipede lost all the momentum it had built in a second and is now on the ground struggling to get straight, Earthquake, being one of the strongest ground type moves did its job and severely reduced Whirlipede's health.
Julian "You need to do more, finish it with Power Gem"
Julian gave the final call and Boldore shot multiple rays of colorful beams at Whirlipede until it got knocked out, the first round ended very quickly which left everyone in shock.
This was too fast for them, even Burgh was a little stunned but he quickly gathered himself, he knew he has to do a lot better if he wants to take on Julian, even if Julian is carrying a new team of pokemon, it is still Julian, his experience in pokemon battle is far better then Burgh's.
Burgh called his Whirlipede back to its Pokeball and sent out his next pokemon, a Dwebble, a bug/rock type pokemon, Julian also decided to send Boldore back to his Pokeball and rest up for the next round and sent out Karrablast.
Both pokemon being a first stage pokemon, it seemed like a fair battle, both are bug types as well, Karrablast's appearance also caused a reaction as this is Julian's second pokemon that has been shown to the public.
The battle started again, this time Burgh doesn't have to worry about anything that will work against his pokemon, both are bug types, Karrablast doesn't have any special attacks that might harm his Dwebble and even if it does have a special attack, they are very weak while using it.
Karrablast depends on their high physical attack stat and his Dwebble has a ridiculous defense that works in his favor but he will not be rash and try to drag this battle based solely on his pokemon's defense.
Burgh "Dwebble, use Feint Attack"
Burgh didn't waste any time and went for a direct attack that cannot be dodged, the only way to escape is to counter it.
Julian "Karrablast, use Fury Cutter"
Karrablast channels all his power into his arms and cross chops the incoming feint attack to counter it, as the moves connect it creates a small shock wave and both pokemon is pushed back, Karrablast is sent a little further as he is a lot lighter than Dwebble while Dwebble being the heavier opponent stands its ground.
This, of course, made people think that Karrablast lost that exchange while it was clearly a draw, one being Feint Attack is a much powerful attack than Fury Cutter while Karrablast being the stronger one here canceled each other out.
Julian "Karrablast, use Fury Cutter again"
Karrablast once again charges at Dwebble while using Fury Cutter, this time the move is twice as powerful than before, Burgh needs to find a way to dodge this attack so Fury Cutter can return to its base power. Until Fury Cutter keeps making contact its power will keep increasing.
Burgh "Dwebble, use Iron Defense and then use Feint Attack"
As Karrablast gets closer and is ready to land the powered up Fury Cutter, Dwebble uses Iron Defense and increases its defense and successfully takes the hit, it does take damage but it is not as severe if it hadn't used Iron Defense.
It then counters with Feint Attack and lands it on Karrablast which sends him backward, the attack was good and it damaged Karrablast but Julian isn't worried about it.
He is focused on the battle, waiting for that one mistake that Burgh is going to make for sure and if he doesn't Julian will force him to make one, this is how he always battled at it won't change.
