406 The Morrigan VII : Manticore 2, Temple Path Of Flesh And Blood

The manticore was just a meter away from These, claws and jaws swinging down in blind rage when the cannon in her hand went off.

*Booodoom!*

I could feel the tremor and vibrations from where I was, as the recoil was so powerful that Rhea with all of her strength couldn't withstand it and was pushed backwards, her legs digging trenches in the ground. The Manticore's massive mountain like bulk was thrown backwards where it's back smashed against the gate behind it, causing cracks to appear, however before it could even reach the ground, all of it's eight limbs, even it's claws were stabbed inwards into it's own body, it's movement completely out of it's control.

*Screeeeeeee!*

The screech of pain coming off from it was so loud and grating, anyone other than a vampire or a race with powerful defense and healing properties would have bust and eardrum if not an entire brain. But Gus was not done yet as the Manticore's powerful and massive stinger was now brought down hard onto it's own back, the stinger struck down once, then twice, then thrice, by the fourth time the it's tip shattered against the heavy armor of the manticore, but a huge indent had already been made on it's back.

A portal appeared above it, it began to swirl and push downwards, taking the form of a Lance that was all to familiar to me. Teluna was using the energy and power of the shadow realm to attack, and it was downright terrifying, this was basically him having control over the natural law of an entire domain, a power that so far I have only seen displayed by gods, or people powerful enough to create Dimensions of their own.

The Lance of shadow and darkness stabbed into the back of the manticore, drilling into it as the massive body of the legendary monster was twisted and contorted into itself, like a shirt that had a stick placed in the middle and then twisted round and round like cotton candy. The sounds of bones breaking and shattering shook even me, these three were powerful, Rhea along could face off against first circle lesser gods, but with those two boys at her side...…even I could be dealt with if I underestimated them.

The Lance disappeared and the twisted and very dead yet broken form of the mountain sized manticore was left in the ground in a heap of it's own organs and pool of it's own blood. And just like the giants, it's blood was human. This was beyond annoying if I had to be honest, the sheer amount of it alone told me that the lives taken for this monster to be created was in the thousands. I honestly don't like to be a hypocrite, my hands aren't clean, but this...…this was just inhumane.

"There's no humane way of killing people husband, once they're dead they're dead. But even I have to admit that this, it's not right." Xaseah had spoken to me, completely connected and understanding of what I was thinking and feeling through the bond we shared. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell where I ended and where she and Asha began.

*Creeeeaaaaaak*

The gate began to spread apart, but the way it was being spread was something Akin to a horror movie, hundreds of thousands of arms, were interlocked in the middle of the gate, and as they spread apart with creaks and a rather weird squelching sound, it became obvious to all of us exactly what that gate was made of or from. But like the path we had taken to come here, the temple gate was made with bodies, or this time to be specific it was made with the removed limbs of people. It didn't matter skin color of race or shape or size, you could see all of them there, it was so much that by the time the gate was fully open, we were all still standing where we were, completely shocked out of our mind.

Construction of something like this was not simple, someone or something had to seriously twisted to be Able to do something like this, and from what I know, only s dungeon core would be responsible for the construction of important structures in it's dungeon and the paths to it's next floor. And forms Dungeon core to grow to a point that it has Become what a planetary dungeon core, then it must have achieved sentience, grown a conscience and an understanding of the people and creatures that lived within it, yet this was still done.

Everybody was answerable to their sins and the consequences of their actions, and for me right now it has gone beyond just dealing with a bunch controlled gods and an annoying one up to no good, and another plotting weird shit somewhere else. This dungeon core needed to be taught a lesson, and knowing how I tend to be when it comes to teaching evil son of a bitches lessons, it would safe today that Dungeon core won't be surviving the hell I have in store for it.

I moved forward and placed my hand on the ground, right in front of the very twisted body of the manticore, not at all worried about the fact that my hands were soaked in blood. I left a rune behind as I walked out, with the others following me. The gate this time opened up into a cavern with a very blue and cool pool of water, with the way this place was I reckon it should be some sort of underwater cavern, which means we would probably be going for a swim soon enough.

I looked around, and much to my shock, an the shock of the others, the same twelve year old girl that the goddess Morrigan had used to communicate with us, was sitting on a rock, throwing stones into the pool that seemed to glow with almost supernatural luminescence.

"I see you guys made it here, but judging by the look on your face, you're not in too good a mood. Well that's alright, I don't need you to be happy, I just need you to be efficient. Now can we get to work?"

She had barely finished speaking when there was a massive rumble coming from everywhere, the gate behind them began to grow multiple cracks as the pillars that held the foundations of the temple path they had just taken began to crumble. A river of blood began to pour out of the gate just as the temple fully collapsed, and it became all the more obvious that it was built with the bodies and blood of hundreds of thousands if not millions of living beings.

And for what? To make the path to a second floor seems more hard or was it more scary or interesting. None the less the temple collapsed fully and the blood spread on the ground until it got to the pristine pool, slowly and surely dipping itself into the crystal blue and rapidly turning it the dark red of blood. I turned to Morrigan's vessel.

"Now we can get to work."
