Xavier was sitting on a bench just a few blocks down from where he live. Or rather, where he used to live. His parents had just given him the boot. With a thundering slam of the door, he was no longer invited back in.
Their reasoning was simple. They were tired off having a leech at home who just sucks money out and never bring any in. That second part was a lie, Xavier kept telling himself as he would bring in an annual income of a hundred dollars.
Not knowing what was next for him now that he was homeless, all he could do was think. For hours upon hours he sat on that bench contemplating whether to man-up and apologize to his parents then promising them that he'll try to find a job or if he should be prideful and try to deal with things on his own.
He was getting hungry and still didn't have the answers. His parents had given him enough just for one meal.
He took out the twenty in his pockets and got ordered himself some food at the nearest restaurant. "Maybe I don't... but he definitely does," he recalled a name as he pulled out his phone. The only thing he took with him.
He searched for less than five seconds before he founded who he was looking for. He immediately sent him an SOS text with one hand while drinking soup with the other.
It didn't take long to get a reply. His friend asked him what was wrong and Xavier began to explain the predicament he was in.
The friend who willingly sat through ten minutes of Xavier texting like a drunk, took a little while before sending Xavier a message that read, "If you have money in your bank, cash it out. Then make your way over to me. I'll send you my address. I'll solve your homelessness problem."
Xavier didn't get an actual answer to how his problem would be solved but his friend always had the right answers throughout the many years they knew each other so he could only simply thank him and then rush to finish his food. He was also at a business region so it wasn't hard to find an ATM machine.
He took out the two hundred dollars he had made from streaming for five whole years and immediately began making his way over to where his friend was at.
It was tedious. He had to constantly switch buses as they only drove a certain distance and the cabdrivers all refused to drive long distances because of family and other businesses they had going on in their life.
It was already late at night when he had arrived to his destination. He looked at the building in front of him and starting from the door, he began making his way up to the top. He could officially confirm that this was a skyscraper. Not that it needed confirming.
Pulling out his phone, he asked if he was at the right place. Sending his friend a picture of the building, he received a thumbs up.
"Liar," he said as he entered the building. Business was still being conducted despite the time. People dressed in suits were walking all around him making him stand out with his grey hoodie and Hawaiian shorts.
Like a fish out of water, he walked over to the receptionist. When she asked him for his name, he was worried that his friend was bullshitting and that it was a scheme to embarrass him but luckily, she called someone over to lead him.
A man in a fancy suit, wearing glasses that looked too big for his face, with a gun by his waist asked him to follow. Xavier didn't know what he had gotten himself into but that gun was telling him to go ahead and listen to the man.
Entering an elevator separated from the rest, Xavier watched as the man in a suit pressed a button that showed a big fat eighty.
Slowly, the number up on the screen began increasing. It was taking a while and Xavier wasn't used to being in such an awkward situation so he pulled out his phone. The signal was bad but it still worked so he went ahead and asked his friend if he was going to be murdered but all he got back was a laughing emoji and the word, "Maybe."
'Is he the son of a rich family?' Xavier asked himself.
The number finally stopped changing as it hit eighty. The doors opened but the man didn't exit the elevator. Instead he just signaled for Xavier to go ahead.
Nervous, Xavier left the elevator with his phone still in his hand. He was ready to yank it at someone the instant something goes wrong.
He heard the door open. As he held his phone a little tighter, he saw a man with half-white and half-black hair. It was as though someone dumped a bucket of chalk on his head. He wasn't wearing a suit like the rest of the people in the building but a pink bathrobe with a bear hood.
"What... the fuck?" was the only words that came out of Xavier. The middle-aged man had his phone in his hand as well and it was unlocked. Xavier looked at it and saw the same conversation he just had up on his phone. "Blue Panda?"
"That's me!" he announced as he got into a superhero pose. "Well my real name is Sato but Blue Panda is fine, if that's what you want to call me."
Xavier was a little lost for words. He was also cringing inside but he didn't let that show. "Uhm... I'll call you Sato then. Should I speak formally or casually?"
"Come on now. We've known each other for five years. Fifteen world bosses defeated with only the two of us. If you talked formally, I would be offended," Sato said as he laughed like a maniac.
'That is definitely him.' Sato gestured for him to enter the office. They sat down on two couches across from each other.
"I'll be honest Sato, I thought you were..." Xavier wasn't able to finish his sentence as Sato cut him off.
"Young? Well I am forever 21 so even if I don't look the part, I sure as hell am," Sato said as he poured the two of them some tea. Handing one cup to Xavier, he finished his instantly.

'You're old enough to be my father. No, my grandfather. Talking about forever 21,' Xavier thought to himself as he sipped on his tea.
Sato had a child-like smile the whole time. With his outfit, if no one saw his face, he could pass as a teenager who hasn't matured yet. However that white part of his hair suggested differently.
"Now the reason I invited you here."
"Was to solve my problem. I'm homeless. Or are you too old to remember that?" Xavier accidentally spoke his thoughts. After all the attempts to keep certain thoughts to himself, he let it out so easily.
Sato didn't get furious as expected. Instead his smile grew bigger before he laughed. He even mixed in a few wheezes and coughs. "Even when I'm this much different from your expectations, you can still roast the life out of me huh?" Sato asked as he wiped the tears away.
"It's not that hard when you only have a few years left in your life anyway," Xavier didn't even realize the words come out of his mouth. He was being impetuous as these were common conversations they had between the two of them online.
Sato poured himself another cup of tea while struggling to keep his laughter in.
'What a strange old man,' Xavier thought to himself. "So what are you? The CEO or something?" he asked Sato who was taking shots of tea as if it was alcohol.
"Put some respect on me boy. I am god. Just kidding, yeah... I'm the CEO," Sato replied.
"You're definitely Blue Panda alright with your lame jokes. Wouldn't that mean you're a busy man? How in the world did you play for three days without sleep then?" Xavier asked recalling the two-man raid where they were cleaning the vampire mansion.
"I got my ways," Sato said as he gave Xavier a criminal look.
"Okay then... I'll think I'll just go and beg on the streets for some spare change or something," Xavier said as he got up. It was getting awkward and weird. When those two things mix, it's just a matter of whether to push through it or leave. Xavier chose the later.
Sato got up and pushed Xavier back down with ease. "Alright alright. Enough joking around. I was just happy to finally meet Dirty Old Rabbit. The man who refuses to eat when he's playing."
Xavier felt like he just got sucker punched right in his stomach. He wasn't proud of those moments either. It wasn't that he refused to eat, but he refused to ask his parent to bring food to his room while he was wasting his life on the keyboard.
"Now that I think about it, you're a good looking old hag," Xavier said without realizing what he had set himself up for.
"And you're a pretty ugly motherfucker. Guess you weren't lying online?" Sato joked. Xavier wanted to punch him and leave but his wallet was thin so he stayed seated while clenching his fists.
"Alright then. Let's solve your problem," Sato said as he got up and entered his closet.
"What are you going to do? Give me money?" was the obvious first thing that came to mind.
"Give you money my ass."
"So what are you searching for then?"
"A secret. The secret."
"To what?" Xavier asked confused by how vague the answer was.
"The secret to my success," Sato replied as he walked out with what looked like a paintbrush. However, the brush part of it was replaced by a metal blade.
"To your success? That brush is the key?"
"Not the key but the key to the safe where the actual key is."
Xavier watched as Sato took the blade and carved a symbol on his left palm. He couldn't help but gag. "What are you doing?"
Sato walked over to where Xavier was and smacked him right on his forehead who flew and landed behind the couch. Then he bit his thumb and with the blood dripping from the cut, he added additional details to the symbol already imprinted on Xavier's forehead.
Xavier wanted to run away but his mind was getting dizzy. His eyes were moving side to side like a game of ping pong. His body felt numb and his heartbeats was slowing down.
"What... did you... do... to me?" Xavier managed to ask before he saw red light illuminating from his forehead. Then he blacked out.
Sato picked him up off the floor and laid him down on the couch. He sat down on his chair and got back to signing documents and taking calls. "Sorry that I made you wait."
"It's no problem. So you've chosen your successor?" a feminine voice could be heard from below the desk.
"Yeah," Sato sighed. He felt bad for Xavier who was unaware of anything that just happened nor what was going to happen now that he bore the mark. "You don't talk while eating and yet you always talking with your mouth full. What's the difference?"
"One is food and the other is disgusting."
Sato chuckled before getting back to work. With weight off of his shoulders, he felt light and yet, the thought of his young friend having to go through the same things he did made it heavy.
"Get a good night sleep Xavier. You won't be having too many of those left."
