2 Colors And Limbs

Name:King of Lust Author:Zologod
When he finally awoken from his uncomfortable nap, the sun was already peeking through the horizon.

"Good morning Xavier," greeted Sato who was still sitting at his desk reading documents. He had the bear hood on and was wearing glasses. "Do you feel anything?" he asked him nonchalantly.

Xavier searched his body and was relieved that nothing had changed. "I feel fine," Xavier replied despite the uneasiness lurking around the corner. "What did you do to me?" he asked as he wiped his forehead. There was nothing on his hand.

There was a minute of silence as Sato flipped the page and continued reading. Xavier stared at him intensely waiting for an answer.

"I was giving you the key," Sato finally answered as he put the documents down to get a better look at Xavier. His childish smile reappeared. "That's a lot better," he said as he pulled out a mirror from the drawer. He effortlessly threw it.

Xavier barely caught it. He reluctantly peeked at his reflection. He was prepared to see a demonic-looking symbol on his forehead made from blood. However that wasn't the case. Instead, he was staring at a stranger's face sitting firm on his body as if it was a trivial thing.

The mirror shattered on the floor. "Sato, what the fuck did you do to me?" Xavier swore as he got up from the couch. His body was still a little bit numb so he fell to his knees but the fire in his eyes was burning.

Sato took a sip from his newly brewed tea refusing to give a straightforward answer which was unlike his offline persona.

"You'll have to find out for yourself," he said while smiling. He pushed a button on his desk and two security guards entered the office not long after. "Escort my friend outside of the building. Make sure he can't come back in either."

The two security guards nodded their hand before pulling Xavier off the ground.

"Your future will be full of joy. Just be aware of the Kinghunters," he advised Xavier before getting back to work.

"Don't you think that was harsh?" the feminine voice from before asked. She spoke a little too loud as everyone in the room heard her to a certain extent.

'Who said that?' Xavier asked himself as he was dragged to the elevator.

"That's not harsh at all. When I inherited the powers, I didn't even know where it came from. I went around telling people about it which got me locked up. At least he will know to keep his mouth."

"Are you sure about that last part?"

Sato was about to ensure her that she was being too worried when he swallowed his words. "I don't know. He's spent five years as a NEET. He might go around claiming he's a superhero or something and get stoned for sounding stupid."

"What if he does?"

"Then he better go out looking his best or else I won't bother to attend his funeral," he joked. "At least that would be better than getting caught by a hunter."

Down over at the elevator, Xavier was still being help up his armpits.

"You guys can put me down now. I have legs you know?" However when they complied to his wishes, he fell to his knees again. He clenched his teeth as he was picked back up. Pulling the strings on his hoodie, his face vanished into the dark.

Only when he was out of the building did he take a deep breath. He took his hoodie off as he was sweating profusely. It was a little difficult to take it off. It felt smaller than normal.

Xavier walked over to a bench with his saved up energy before collapsing. All of the strength in his legs was gone. He pulled out his phone and began sending vulgar texts at an impressive speed.

When all he received was, "lol", he had the urge to go back up there and stab his friend with a knife however those two guards standing by the door suggested differently.

"What do you mean by full of joy?" he rhetorically asked. He checked his face once again. It was still of the stranger's. "Who are you?"

"That's what I want to know," said a raspy voice. "Who do you think you are laying on the bench like you own it?"

Xavier turned his head and saw an old grandma. He sat up and slid to the edge of the bench, "Sorry about that."

"It's no big deal," she said as she chuckled. "So who broke your heart?" the grandma asked as she sat down.

Xavier took a second to register her question to his brain. He's never even gone through a breakup before. "No one. Nobody broke up with me. I was just arguing with a friend."

The grandma looked at him with a face of disbelief. "With a face like that, you must be a playboy. No wonder why she broke up with you," the grandma scolded as she took out two sandwich. She gave one to Xavier and was ready to kill if he refused. "No matter what you did, if you were in the wrong or not, apologize. You may not be forgiven but it's always the right thing to do."

Then she got up and entered the bus. "Good luck," she said as disappeared into the crowd.

Xavier sat there not making a single sound or movement before whispering to himself, "Thanks I guess." He then peeled off the plastic on his sandwich. Slowly eating it, he began thinking about her words. "My face... a playboy? I do look one to others huh?"

As he took another bite into the sandwich, his eyes began aching. It gradually got stronger. In less than a minute it felt like needles poking before it grew to the point where it felt as though it was burning. He kept rubbing them but the more he did, the worse it got. He finally stopped and opened them to see blood on his hands.

He was in shock but he didn't freak out. He had even passed out yesterday because Sato smacked his head with blood. This was nowhere as creepy compared to that.

Opening up the camera app, he looked at his reflection to see that nothing was wrong with his eyes. No blood on his hand either. The pain had also vanished as fast as it took to blink. With a snap, everything was back to normal.

Except that was only on the surface level.

Xavier began seeing bright colors out of the corner of his eyes. When he turned to face them, he saw people walking down the sidewalk engulfed in an abundant variety of colors.

From red to violet to gold and black, people had different numbers of colors on their body. One thing in common was that the heart and brain always had a color to them. The other places sometimes lit up were the four limbs and the stomach. Sometimes there's even multiple colors in one place.

Xavier looked up at the highest floor on the skyscraper he was just in. "What did you do to me?" He wanted to ask but he wasn't going to get an answer anyway so he would rather not waste his time.

He rubbed his eyes, nothing changed. Smacked himself hard, he didn't wake up. This wasn't a joke anymore, he was either drugged or Sato was telling him the truth about the 'key'. Xavier was completely confident it was the former at first but recalling Sato's crystal-clear eyes, his reflection, the grandma's words, and how he fainted, the later was sounding more plausible by the second.

"My mom always told me to be careful of people not on any drugs or medication. They're sometimes the most high on life," he whispered to himself as he sent Sato a message containing

"I can't tell you about the colors," was what the message read. Xavier didn't expect an answer to his question but he did get confirmation to a previous thought. The colors were real and he wasn't on an acid trip or anything of the sorts.

He sent another text asking Sato if there was a way to turn it off.

Not expecting an answer, it was definitely a shocker when Sato gave him a genuine answer. All he had to do was shut his eyelids really tight for three seconds before opening them and rapidly blink three times.

Xavier followed the instructions as given and was relieved to see all of the colors disappear. He did it again and the colors returned. Turning it off and on, off and on, he no longer had a rational answer to what was going on with his eyes.

"I'm cursed. That son of a bitch. No wonder why he seemed so happy to get rid of his quote unquote key. Can't even spare me the time and just teach me what everything means?" Xavier complained. "He said that he would solve my problem but I don't see how this helps me at all."

Thinking about it, not only is he still homeless, he has ended up more broke than before. Now he had a whole day ahead of him with no goal in mind. But he is in a big city, so maybe he could find himself something to do.

He also wanted to take a shower and change his clothes and his one hundred was barely enough. Heclenched his teeth and did just that. With a bag over his head, he had his dirty clothes in there.

'Maybe I should go beg for money,' he thought to himself as he walked around checking out all of the known touring sights. He was about to move on when he heard something shatter. Turning around, he saw a young man standing there lifeless with cupped hands and broken flowerpots on the floor.

He didn't want to help but when he double-checked just to be sure, there was a golden color on his right arm. Hopefully that meant what he thought it meant.

Picking up the broken pieces, Xavier asked the starstruck man, "Are you okay?"

The young man nodded his head and said in a low volume, "Thank you."

"Where should I take these?"

"Just throw them into that trash can over there."

'When's the money going to start rolling in?'
