-UNEDITED-
Days passed by so quickly, and eventually, the topic about the royal family and various incidents connected to them died out. In a short time, Gavin also proved himself to be a responsible King working hard to serve his country with all his might as its ruler. Brione was always at his side, supporting him in all aspects.
The people looked upon the royal couple with respect and admiration. Everything was going smoothly in the country of B except for one and that was Olivia's vocal opposition against the monarchy political system.
She was so hell-bent on removing the royal family from power in her vague ways. She was doing everything in her ability to convince the officials and people that it was time already that they change the sovereignty of a single ruler into a country ruled by the people.
It was a good proposal in the citizen's eyes since most countries nowadays have democracy as their political system. Yet, most of the citizens in country B were already pleased with how the royal family ruled the country.
"What is wrong with Olivia? Isn't she satisfied with how well Gavin is doing as a ruler of this nation? Why does she keep on looking at Gavin's weaknesses? She's making a fuss over small things. She's the only person making things difficult for Gavin. I mean why does she have to question most of Gavin's ideas and plans for the country?" Leila burst annoyingly.
Leila had dinner in the palace and stayed more with Brione in the couple's living area, discussing a few things for the wedding ceremony of Gavin and Brione tomorrow while having some tea.
Brione smiled and said, "It's what she believes in, Aunty. I think she thinks that it's the best for the country. Gavin is open to that idea, just that the decision is not his to make. You see, we all have to wait for Cedric first…"
Gavin could not decide it on his own since he was not the only one who had rights on the throne. Cedric had the last words about it.
"Ahh, right, how long do we still need to wait for that brat to show up?" Leila asked.
Brione shook his head with a sigh.
"Alright, let's just patiently wait. What matters is Cedric is safe and coming back soon."
Brione unconsciously yawned, and Leila chuckled as she teased, "I thought Gavin would be very busy and won't have the energy to keep you awake late at night."
Brione chuckled and defended, "ah, I often fell asleep early, Aunty, so even if Gavin wakes me up… I won't be sleep-deprived. Just that I feel sleepy often."
Leila was about to comment more when her mobile phone rang.
"Oh, it's Kimmy. I will just answer this, dear," Leila said, excusing herself and answered the call.
Brione rested her head on the couch and unconsciously dozed off. Leila shook her head, seeing Brione fall asleep. She immediately called Gavin, who was just in his study room, to get his wife.
Gavin carried Brione to their bedroom and gently put her on their bed. He smiled as he looked at her. She was like a sleeping beauty waiting for her prince charming to kiss her. He bent down and gave her a gentle and loving kiss on her lips.
Tomorrow, he could finally give his wife a grand wedding ceremony she deserved, and Gavin could not wait for tomorrow to come.
He chuckled as he stared at Brione's lips. The lips could only accept a kiss solely from him.
"Why are you chuckling, huh?" Brione sheepishly commented as she raised her arms and wrapped them on Gavin's neck.
"You're awake…"
"Yeah, I felt you were carrying me, but I'm too lazy to open my eyes," Brione confessed as she slowly opened her eyes.
"Tell me, what's funny, darling?" she asked with a pout.
"Nothing, just your lips are too adorable. I just thought how lucky I am to be the man who could only kiss you nonstop. Your fear of kissing turned out to be an advantage for me. I am curious, though. I meant to ask you, but I always forgot. How come you can only kiss me?"
Brione cringed her face and mumbled, "why are you asking the obvious? You're the man who saved me that day from someone who kidnapped me. Rui said that it's because, in my mind, it's only you who I can trust. I can only kiss a man I trust my life with."
Gavin stared at her lips and leaned down to give his wife a long and passionate kiss.
"Did you prepare a good vow for me tomorrow, sweetheart?" Gavin teased. He heard that Brione asked their Aunt Leila about her vows and how they sounded. She also asked Will and Kevin about their opinion on it… And he was sure Brione also asked Luo and her brother Noah about it.
Brione's face flushed. She was not good with speech, and she wanted a perfect vow for Gavin tomorrow.
"Stop teasing me. You know I'm not good at it," Brione murmured.
Gavin chuckled and said, "Hmmm, just say what's on your heart, sweetheart, or you can just simply say how much you love me for eternity. That will do. Just be confident like every awards night you are attending and receiving an award."
"I know, but it's different. I want it perfect since the whole world will be watching it. Also, I want to make you cry tomorrow," Brione commented in jest.
"How about you make me cry in ecstasy now instead, huh?" Gavin mumbled before he positioned himself on top of his wife.
Brione grinned and said, "we need to rest early and save our strength for tomorrow. I want my beauty sleep so ask for a cry in ecstasy all you want after the wedding party instead."
Gavin ignored her and leaned down to kiss her.. Brione kissed him back since her husband never failed to awaken all the nerves inside her body, arousing her and making her ask for more from him.
