"Syna! Oh, Syna! How can I make you believe me, you are forcing me to disclose you the truth, which I don't want to."
I didn't know what Sinclair MacLaverty meant by that, but my ears pricked at his words.
It seemed as if some bigger bomb was about to fall on my head!
"Oh yeah? Why are you hesitating, huh? Oh! I know, you want some time to build up a lie!"
I spat venomously at him, indeed I was provoking Sinclair MacLaverty as much as I could.
"What! No, why would I? Oh come on, Syna!"
I could see Sinclair heaving a deep sigh, he leaped forward cautiously towards me, as not to frighten me.
Sinclair quickly took me by shoulders and dragged me gently towards the bed, that soon I was at the edge of the bed.
"Syna….Syna! First of all whatever I will say, you have to believe that I won't be lying to you."
I didn't know what to say and simply nodded.
"As you suspected that I wanted to kill you, indeed that's true! BUT, that's way earlier when you joined my conglomerate as my personal secretary. And about your other question...yes, I know you before that...actually we both know each other because you and I were life partners in previous life."
I felt as if I had just heard about a fantasy tale of some reincarnation plotline, but of course, such incidents were normal in my life. I mean I was supposed to be the bride of the Ghost Lord, many supernatural beings were already around me.
So, it was quite possible to agree on a 'past life' revelation.
"Partners in previous life? Oh?"
That was all I could utter from my mouth, leaving the rest of the things for Sinclair MacLaverty to explain.
"Yes, previous life! Actually this is our second life and previously someone had casted a spell on you, which was intended to kill me!"
As soon as Sinclair paused for a moment, the mere words took me by surprise.
I gasped at his words, how could I kill him? But why did I attempted such a bold sin?
"B- but why would I kill you? And why would someone do that?"
It was absolutely not a small thing to swallow easily, let alone some unimaginable past life thingy.
"I don't know about that, but after killing me you committed suicide. Thus, we both were given a second chance to correct our past mistakes and that's why at first I intended to take revenge on you. But believe me Syna I was totally unaware of this in the beginning, it was Jade who cleared up my mind and again I fell in love with you."
I could see Sinclair's eyes getting teary and his voice sounded as if it had gotten stuck into the throat, he sounded like a cry baby who was proving his innocence.
"I- I…."
My brain was trying to analyse everything and to comprehend whatever Sinclair MacLaverty just told me. I couldn't come up with any words to speak, many things were becoming clear by coming out of the mist but still new questions were popping their heads now.
"Syna, I'm fully aware of the things and the trouble in your heart but you hvar to keep your faith in me that I am yours, and now I will protect you no matter what. I know, I must have did some mistakes in the past life, hereby I ask you to forgive me, for keeping a malicious intention of taking revenge."
"I- I need some time to think through these things, okay."
I shrugged off his hands which were resting in my lap, as he was crouched down in front of me.
"I forgive you, Sinclair MacLaverty. I can understand what you did and what had happened but even if you didn't leave earlier, I believe you would now...or you are willing to stay with an ugly hag?"
I knew that my words would sure make him leave, it wasn't like I wanted him to but testing his love was the only thing in my mind.
Although he had told me the reasons and I believed in each and every word but still a great chunk was missing!
Something was still there which wasn't settling down.
"No! Not at all!"
I was expecting him to leave simply, as he had already seen my face. But his raging stern voice resonated in the room which made me shiver for once.
"I won't f.u.c.k.i.n.g leave even if you want me to, you are aware of everything now but still you are expecting such a cowardly reaction from me?"
I could feel that sadness again in his voice, though his words sprouted a small leaflet of happiness within me but still his absence and his delay had hurt me more.
I needed to punish him!
Yes and that's why I decided to tease him more, still pretending to be angry.
"Then you are ready to sacrifice your good reputation and willing to stay by my side, is that what you are implying? You would all the way and take an ugly woman as your bride, on the top who is cursed to stay like this forever."
I turned my head towards him, while my lifeless orbs were staring back at his worrisome face. I could tell that how upset he had gotten from my words, but he deserved all this.
"Will you please shut up!? I am not running okay, in any case! You think we both have been granted this second chance just to fight all over again? No! F.u.c.k.i.n.g, no! We need to understand each other, we are mates Syna. You and I love each other and my adoration towards you is not just because of your beautiful face."
Before I could even react, my body became numb under his tranquilizing hands, which had already travelled on my scarf.
"I still like you in whatever shape or condition you are, and I won't f.u.c.k.i.n.g stop adoring you."
To my surprise Sinclair had taken off my scarf which had exposed my hideous face to him, but his pupils didn't dilate or flinch.
Sure, the man was head over heels in love with me!
Unknowingly my pale greenish cheeks felt some warm water dripping down on them, which his thumb had gently wiped off.
"I love you, Syna!"
The words fell into my ears and I was free from the cages of despair!
Sinclair leaned in and our foreheads collided gently with each other, and I knew that whatever I had done in the past would perhaps be under some spell.
Because this man in front of me...was my better half, my mate!
"I love you too!"
How could I not respond to him and that's how my heart confessed immediately, I felt his warm breath shifting its position from my long crooked nose towards my bluish lips.
In the midst of those curtains and the witness of four walls, Sinclair MacLaverty confessed his love to me along with placing a kiss on my lips.
There was no room for any other suspicion, my heart and brain now believed him.
Of course, how could not 'true love' win!
"Syna...your face!"
As his lips parted with me and I opened my eyes, the first thing appeared to my sight was Sinclair's smirking face.
"Hah! I won!"
His proud smile and beaming eyes were in front of me.
I saw something in his eyes, a flicker perhaps!
Then there was the reflection of my face and...
"What!?"
A loud cream left my quivering lips
Unexpected.
Something unbelievable had already happened.
Unimaginable.
Definitely the outcome was unimaginable and perhaps Lord Sinclair MacLaverty was also not aware of the laws and rules of nature!
And of course, sometimes things turn worse and at times miracles happen, when the sky of hope becomes covered with the clouds of despair!
