115 Chapter 112:

As my back was turned to look at Diana, I looked behind me to see OH NO... Both of our eyes widen as the person we were looking for stood behind us with a suspicious look on her face. IT WAS MEGHAN! MEGHAN IS BACK NOW ON HER ROOM AND SHE DOESN'T LOOK THE LEAST BIT HAPPY!

In shock, Diana accidentally drops the lockpick, making it the center of attention to the three of us. I facepalmed, seeing Diana quickly take the lockpick from the ground and hiding it behind her.

"Um. What are you guys doing here in front of my dorm room?" Meghan asks the two of us with a skeptical look on her face. I remained calm but I could clearly feel that Diana is shivering in her boots. I mean she was caught just lockpicking a person's dorm room. You can get jailed for that so I don't blame her.

"Well you see I-" I started to explain but Diana stops me from speaking and explains it on her own. "Actually! We're here to check up on you!" She spits out an obvious lie. Making my skin crawl and my whole body cringe from what she had said.

"Um, what?" Meghan's skepticism grew even larger at the two of us. Making an even more suspicious expression.

"Hello there! You must be new here. Let me introduce myself." Diana puts up a fake smile, offering her hand to Meghan who's also as confused as me. "My name is Diana Lockser. I'm one of the representatives of the transferees and I've heard from your teacher that you didn't attend your class this morning so they sent me to check up on you. They were worried that something had happened to you." Diana made a perfectly believable statement, making me sigh in relief. I can't believe she was able to save that and here I thought we'd be spending our time together in a prison cell or expelled for breaking and entering.

"Oh... I see.." Meghan dropped her defenses and got comfy from our presence. "You can go and tell the people that sent you over that I'm fine." She smiled, answering Diana's question.

A question raises through my head as she asked that. Why was she gone anyway? Surely, she should be attending the FIRST day of school. She must have some sort of emergency... OH, who am I kidding? I already know why she didn't attend. It happened at that time when I ran into her when I returned to the dorm room after that night.

FLASHBACKS (Earlier that Morning)

After losing sleep to that serial killer trying to kill me last night. A lot of questions are streaming around my head. How did a serial killer get here? Isn't there any type of security system in this school? Why did the killer suddenly try to attack this dorm room specifically and MORE IMPORTANTLY. Why was the door lock purposely taken out of its place? It's as if she purposely removed it...

I removed the chair that I used to lock the door close and proceeded to look into the peephole. I can't risk myself getting ambushed by the serial killer now. I looked into the peephole and nothing was there neither hide nor hair. It was safe or so I thought...

I slowly opened the door to the dorm to be greeted by the sun shining into my face, I yawned and stretched my spine once again, and did some leg stretches and arm stretches while I made my way down to Celestina's dorm room.

Suddenly in the distance, I see the owner of the dorm herself, Meghan going this way with a terrified look on her face. She has her hands cuffed with her, as she was walking over to my direction, her eyes looking down on the ground.

I walked a few footsteps and when I was in her distance, I spoke up. "Did you have fun, having a slumber party with my sister?" I suddenly ask her, I can see her eyes widen for a split second shocked at my question.

She looks at me, giving me a confused look before smiling. "Oh.. it was alright.." She snickered. "We had a lot of fun together! I think we should do it more often!"

I can smell the fakeness in her tone. Those honeyed words of hers... I know she's hiding something... and I know that she has some sort of ulterior motive for coming to us like that. I guess I'll have to find out myself.

"Hey... you had the sliding lock in your door unscrewed for some reason. I saw it in the cabinet. Why is that exactly?" I interrogated her gently. Giving her a sense of security. "Didn't you say that you didn't feel safe in your dorm room? Why not put on the lock there."

Her eyes wandered around the place, pretending to be all clueless. "Oh.. that's why I had the room switch happen. I wasn't able to screw the sliding lock to the door yet. That's why..."

"But there was a screwdriver there. Couldn't you have just taken the few minutes to screw the door lock so that you'll feel safe?" I persisted with the line of question.

"Why are you so persistent in asking me questions?" She finally snapped, giving me a look with irritation. "I came to see my best friend Celestina for a slumber party. It just so happens that my lock is not functional. I even informed you beforehand with that. It's not my fault that the school hasn't fixed the lock yet."

More like, you unscrewed it yourself and trick me to switch places with you and send that serial killer to go after me instead of you.. that's the read I'm feeling from all of this though why? Why would she purposely set me up to get killed like that?

I remained silent the time she was explaining, making her shove me off. "Ugh! I don't have time to deal with a creeper like you today. You better not have touched anything in my room you pervert." She rudely remarked walking off all of a sudden.

FLASHBACK END

That's how we saw each other this morning. I wonder how she's going to act right now especially since I've seen her true colors already.

She gives Diana a smile but turns to me with a confused look. "And who is this fellow? Why is he here with you?" She forcefully asked Diana.

"Why did you not attend today's classes? Did something happen with you that made you be unable?" Diana avoided the question, putting the ball on Meghan's court with another question.

"Oh. I just had to run a few errands. It was a bit personal so I can't really discuss it with you but from what I heard. Did school get suspended today correct? So why are you asking about my absence if there wasn't any school today, to begin with." She fakes a grin to both of us.

"It's just to ensure the safety of the new students that's all," Diana explained to herself, making her nod and sigh. "Right..." She sarcastically remarks before turning to me again. "So what about this guy? What are you doing here in my dorm room exactly?" Her attitude made a one-eighty, with her voice deepened and more intimidating.

"Actually I'm here to ask you something. Do you have a moment of time to speak with me? It's something very important." I tell her about my purpose. I mean there shouldn't be any reason to hide and dance around the issue. I know she's suspicious and I'm getting to the bottom of it.

"And what would that be exactly?" She crosses her arms and glares at me.

"I don't know.. maybe.. like the fact that you purposely removed the sliding door in your lock and made this obviously fake excuse that you wanted to switch. So you manipulated my sister Celestina to switch rooms with you but suddenly I was made to do the switch and then for some reason. You sent a serial killer in the dorm room to ALMOST try to kill me that night, essentially keeping me awake all night. THAT'S THE THING I WANT TO TALK ABOUT!" I sarcastically brought it up to her.

Diana's face contorted into a face of shock. "WAIT? WHAT?! THE HELL IS THIS?"
