"I know you're hiding something, and I'll find it Lawry-poo. Call me your little cute watchdog. I'll be keeping an eye on you." She winked at me, before finally going down the stairs, not being visible in my sight.
I was left there with my jaw wide open as she made her way down the stairs gracefully. Quickly, I bit into my nails out of habit. Munching into them as I try to ease my anxiety from what just happened. Well, that was totally the wrong move. Didn't think she would plan ahead like that.
Abruptly, the door opens to reveal Celestina on the other side, she wanted to check up on me. "Hey? Are you and Diana over talking now? You do know that we have to do something right?"
"Yes. No need to remind me about that. I am aware of the time and our schedule today for your information." I scoffed her off. Acting a bit snobbish.
"So.. what were you guys talking about alone? Did you guys have some sort of romantic attachment or something that I need to know?" She winked at me, holding her laughter.
"No. Whatever you are imagining in that head of yours, I suggest you, to stop it because it's not like that." I said to her condescendingly. Bursting the bubble on the fantasies she has in her mind that I might unpleasant in the future.
"Right... so what's your relationship with her exactly?" She lets out a cheeky little smile. Making me take a deep breath in frustration. Ugh! This is why I really don't want to be near Diana. Due to Celestina's somewhat of a fangirl shipper mentality, I should have seen this coming from a mile away.
"Diana and I have a professional relationship. She helps me with things and I help her with things. That's all we need to know about each other." I answered professionally.
"So what "professional" thing were you guys talking about alone huh? You guys seem to be spending quite a lot of time and Diana seems to have taken quite a liking to you. Do you like her do by any chance?" She pursued her wrong deductions more, irritating me.
"What we talked about is none of your business. That's for you to know and for me to find out." I smirked, making her pout at me.
"Ugh! I always hate it when you keep secrets like that from me. You know you can just admit to me that you fell in love with her and that you two were going out on a date." She suggested, hearing that almost made me burst out laughing.
"DIANA AND I DATING?! There is no way on earth that's going to happen! HAHA! I can't even believe that you had that thought in mind!" I chuckled softly before returning back to a composed and expressionless manner.
"Alright! Stop." I put my hand out in the air to stop her from continuing her words. "If you find what Diana's saying to be somewhat genuine then you are more of a fool than I thought you were. Princess." I rolled my eyes.
"Huh? What do you mean?" She asks me, totally clueless as to what I'm talking about. I guess that's a result of reading a lot of fantasy and romance novels. Love is not really just black and white..
"Just because she says that she loves me. That doesn't mean she truly does. Many people lie. You know, there's only one truth but there's an endless possibility for lies. She's simply doing that act towards me because she wants to amuse herself." I explained to her.
"What makes you say that? I think what she's saying is truly genuine." Celestina exclaimed.
"Well.. you don't really have the talent nor the skill to spot fake people so that's the reason." I sighed. "You know that Diana has a way with words. She is able to charm absolutely anyone with those honeyed words of her. Multiple fools fall prey to that but I'm really not buying the whole acting she puts up." I grunted, crossing my arms with a fuss.
"I guess you're right.. well mostly you're right but I don't really know. I mean from what I see, Diana is a good person. I mean she can be a bit erratic and she can be a bit of a pervert but I don't think she'll do anything to put anyone in harm's way." Celestina expressed her level of trust with Diana.
"Oh, and what makes you say that? You don't really know her. You just met her for a day in the very least."
"Even if our conversations were short-lived and we don't really know each other that much. I can really tell what is on her heart and that she truly does care about people. I mean she was awfully friendly to me when I got bu-" She then pauses for a second.
Bu? What? What is she talking about?
"Anyways. I know that she isn't really that type of person you describe her to be Lawrence. She's actually pretty nice." She continued her statement of praises for Diana. A bit odd that she's THAT well-liked by Celestina.
"Spoken like a true fool. You trust people so much, princess. You do know that the same people that you trust with all your heart, are the ones that can break you. It's only those you love, can truly break your heart as they said it." I turned my head around to grab on the doorknob. "Well, I need to get ready for when the king and queen will call us. I don't want to look like this when I present myself."
As I was going to walk inside the dorm room, she quickly placed her hand on my shoulder. Putting me in place.
"May I help you?" I asked her sarcastically, looking directly at the arm she placed.
"Why do you think that way? Why do you always see the worst in others?" She complained to me. "I mean like, ever since we have gone out. The people that we do meet together, you always have something to say about them like why do you always do that?"
"It's to keep us safe! The world is a dangerous place. It's not like anything in your little fantasy novel stories. This is the real world. There are people out there, that is alright with killing you. There are people out there that want to take you and never bring you out. Being this clueless can get you killed princess." I explained my reasoning with the cold hard truth.
"I.. I know that but so far. I don't think anyone has tried what you are saying. I don't see anyone trying to ki-"
"ARE YOU CRAZY!" I shouted in impulse. "DON'T YOU KNOW THAT YOUR FRIEND MEGHAN JAMES HAD A PLAN TO KI-" I placed my hand on my mouth immediately to stop myself from completing the sentence.
"Huh? What? What about Meghan James? What plan did she have exactly?" Celestina asked me, awfully curious about what I always muttered out.
Ugh. I wanted to keep this a secret from her and handle this on my own but ugh! I had to almost spit it out just like that. I can't exactly tell her that I've been going around, investigating about Meghan so I might have to bluff again.
"Nothing. She had a plan to do something though I kind of forgot what it was. A surprise I guess." I bluffed about it.
"Oh.. I see.. so why were you shouting when I menti-"
"Anyways! We should probably get ready for a meeting with your parents." I avoided the question. "You might have to wear a presentable outfit to go there got it? By the way, we might have to go to the campus's office to talk to your parents since the wifi connection is not exactly strong enough here." I tell her as I quickly ran towards my room to change into better clothing leaving her out in the hallway.
POV: Celestina Aurora.
You know. I wish I had the power to read people's minds. Lawrence has been acting pretty weird, I don't know why he's being like that but I guess it's nothing as he said it. I should probably go to my dorm room and get dressed.
I have to make a good impression to my parents so that they let me stay in this school!
