121 Chapter 118:

"Ugh. You are such a stubborn man aren't you." She throws herself into me, fiddling her fingers along my chest. "You know those protective brothers.. you kind of remind me of them. Quite a lot. Which reminds me! Your personality is just like Cypress! I consider him like my brother."

"Cypress huh? Honestly... I'm glad you have some sort of brother figure in your life. You look totally dazed when it comes to finding a direction." I squinted my eyes taking a jab at her.

"Hahaha.. though he isn't that clingy." She places her arm around my shoulder. "But I can sure cling to you all night long if you know what I mean." She licked her lips seductively, making an effort to seduce.

"No thanks. I'll have to pass on that." I gently took her shoulder off her and kept a distance. Like I'd fall for those cheap seduction tactics that she has. She really needs to update her methods if she has a chance.. not that I'm trying to give her a chance that is.

"You know you're one weird individual you know that?" Diana looked at me directly, keeping a straight face.

"Um, what? What are you talking about exactly?" I raised my eyebrow and crossed my arms at the thought she exclaimed.

"I don't really know anything about you." She mumbled under her breath, speaking a breathy and curious tone.

"That's because we just met yesterday genius. Do you expect us to be like full-fledged best friends or whatever?" I sarcastically answered her.

"No. I meant your whole demeanor is just so odd that's all and your past is just a bit off-putting to me." She explained, waving her head back and forth in a daze.

"And what's so off-putting about it? I don't particularly remember sharing with you a lot of information about myself and my past." I started to rack my brain with ideas as to what she is talking about.

How dare this woman call me strange and offputting? Hasn't she looked in the mirror. She is the very definition of a dark cloud INFACT if you search the word "Peculiar" in the dictionary, you would see her picture there blasted right in the center so I don't see why she has the nerve to call me things like that.

"For starters" She started to stroll around the hallway with her hands wrapped around her back. "Celestina mentioned to me that she grew very sheltered and that she had no contact with the outside world at all. I mean, she was THAT sheltered to the point that she had to befriend plants." She chuckled a little before straightening up her posture.

"So? What's your point actually?" I deepened my tone, asserting myself to get the answer from her.

"Well yes. Our parents were a bit of a worrywart so they never really let me or my sister out of the house. They said that the outside world is dangerous and is full of threats and hazards that can kill us. So when they finally allowed us to go live on our own, we are a bit new to the idea of moving freely outside." I answered her question. I tried my best to say it so that she wouldn't catch Celestina's secret life. Now I know Diana acts like an airhead on the outside but I can tell her fangs just came out right now and is ready to bite me.

"How interesting." She grinned softly. "You two must have been spoiled to death. Weren't you? Perhaps a rich family, multiple servants doing all the things for you like cleaning, cooking, dressing you or perhaps..."

"What are you trying to get at?" I interrupted what she was saying. "If you have something to say, I suggest trying to say it now. I'm really not into this whole indirect crap you're doing." I told her to be more straightforward but I don't think that's the style of this little vixen. She prefers to see her victims struggle before eating them.

"When I touched Celestina's hand for a split second. I was able to tell that she has not done any sort of work ever. I also took quite an observation into her physical features and to my surprise, I didn't see any scrape, wound, broken nail, or even anything. She just looks perfect. A little too perfect in fact and I have the feeling that you're some sort of rich kid that got sent here by their parents so that you can experience being poor for once so that you wouldn't get spoiled! Is that right?"

My jaw dropped.. oh my gosh. She was able to tell all of that, just from looking at Celestina's physical features along with a slight touch of her hands? Though her guess is extremely accurate. Damn. I might have underestimated this woman... if she's this clever, who knows what she can do in the future.

Celestina commanded me to not let anyone know of her status as royalty while she's staying at this school. If Diana finds out this early in time. Who knows, who she would tell this to especially since she's such a blabbermouth.

"Hmm.. silence huh? I'm assuming I'm right... you know your silence only damns you further so I suggest spitting out the facts already. You're cute Lawry-poo but I don't want you keeping secrets from me okay?" She teases me, giving me a gentle pat on the shoulder.

I might just have to accept this.. if I try to bluff now. She might get suspicious and eagerly investigate more which in turn, could lead to her knowing Celestina's true identity. So I think it's better if I make believe that her deduction was right so she'll finally have her answer.

"Yes." I took a deep breath. "You're right. I can't believe you actually guessed that right! I knew you were as smart as you are beautiful Diana! Who knew just a simple observation was enough for you to formulate that hypothesis. I'm impressed!" I showered her with compliments.

Her eyes lighten up, feeling delighted. "Oh! Yay! I actually got it right and here I thought I got it wrong haha!" She snickered.

"Yup. You are right. Our father and mother run a big company and Celestina is the one that takes the company. She said that she wanted to train very hard so that she'll be just as good as our grandfather but apparently since our business involves associating with lower-class people. She wanted to have the necessary social skills to do that. So she went ahead and asked our father and mother to take us here so she can get some social skills and be in their shoes and of course, dragging me along with her." I explained it to her. I guess it's somewhat the truth.

I mean that is what Celestina wanted.. she is going to be the next ruler and she wanted to be experienced by being in their shoes to help them better. So technically I'm not lying.

Diana went silent for a second. Rearranging thoughts in her head before suddenly her eyes opened widely. "I'm wrong aren't I?"

"Wha? What?" Her blurting that out caught me off guard.

"You know Lawry-poo. You've been very sarcastic and a bit snobbish at me during our time together. So it's a bit suspicious that you suddenly became so enthusiastic and proceeded to praise me when I said that. Surely, you just said that since you wanted me to believe it since it's wrong right? So when you shut down the mystery, I wouldn't be looking into it more."

She saw right to my plan all along. UGH! WHAT IS THIS WOMAN EXACTLY! SHE.. she actually caught that! SO MY PLAN TO KEEP HER FROM INVESTIGATING ACTUALLY BACKFIRED UGH!

"I.. I don't know what you're talking about. I already told you that you're right!" I continued to bluff and put up with this charade.

"Save it for someone who can't tell lying Lawry-poo. I can see it in your eyes." She pouts playfully before finally heading over to the staircase closest to us. She walked slowly over to the stairs before finally looking at me directly in the eye.

"I know you're hiding something, and I'll find it Lawry-poo. Call me your little cute watchdog. I'll be keeping an eye on you." She winked at me, before finally going down the stairs, not being visible on my sight.
