Chapter 9：I’ll Only Stand Up if Brother Yan Kisses Me

'Is Ji Xiaonian… no longer affected by the previous incident?'

In Ji Chen's mind, he thought, 'That lil brat has always been simple-minded. Since it's already been a week since the incident, I bet that she's forgotten all about it!'

Upon seeing a smile on his sister's face once again, Ji Chen felt warm and fuzzy inside. He patted her shoulder and said, "You'll find your favorite food at that corner. Eat all you want, and if you want some alcohol, you're allowed to have a little. I've got something to attend to, currently, so I'll be sending you back later."

With that, Ji Chen then ordered Lu Yifei, "Go take her and play somewhere else!"

Lu Yifei obeyed the order and dragged Ji Xiaonian away.

Before she left, however, Ji Xiaonian made sure to send flying kisses towards Bai Yan and Ji Chen. Her smile was as beautiful as a flower, and it was booming with youth. It soothed the hearts of whoever that saw it.

Bai Yan took a sip of wine dejectedly upon seeing the little girl leaving while holding a stranger's hand. He then coldly asked, "Who's that man?"

'Why have I never seen him before?'

'Also, he looks pretty good.'

"Hehe, are you talking about Lu Yifei? He's Xiaonian's boyfriend and a senior from the same school. Aren't you a lecturer at Ning University? You should've seen him before, right?"

Ji Chen took a sip of red wine, a mocking smile on his face. He was staring at Bai Yan, eagerly waiting for any sort of response.

As expected, the man's expression had instantly morphed into a sour one.

He glared at Ji Chen and in a cold tone, stated, "Are you aware of how old she is? How can you allow her to act so erratically? Aren't you worried that she'll get hurt?"

Even Bai Yan himself was feeling confused while he asked the questions.

'Why am I so involved in this?' 

Moreover, there was a sour sensation in his heart, which was extremely uncomfortable.

Ji Chen took another sip of his red wine, and with an eyebrow slightly raised, he nonchalantly shrugged his shoulder while smiling despicably. "Xiaonian's all grown up now. Isn't it normal for college students to get into relationships? As long as she's fine with it, I won't question her choices."

He then winked at Bai Yan and continued, "Moreover, had it not been for your overly harsh words, she would never have grown so desperate that she would just accept anyone's confession."

It was then that Ji Chen noticed someone waving at him from a distance. With that, he gave a faint smile, brushed past Bai Yan's shoulder, and whispered into Bai Yan's ear, "Lu Yifei is a pretty great person. He might even end up as Xiaonian's partner for life."

After throwing out those two sentences, with his wine glass still in hand and a smile on his face, Ji Chen elegantly headed to the client calling for him.

Bai Yan, who had been left behind, suddenly felt stiff. In the end, he lifted his wine glass and downed its contents in one gulp.

Subsequently, he ignored all the clients that came up to greet him and, instead, headed to the washroom.

Meanwhile, in a certain corner of the party, Ji Xiaonian had been traveling from end to end of each table while stuffing her mouth with various delicacies.

Moreover, she had also consumed quite a large amount of alcohol.

After fully stuffing herself, Ji Xiaonian clumsily headed towards the washroom. This worried Lu Yifei, however, and upon seeing that she was about to fall yet again, he rushed forward and supported her. "I'll support you there!"

Ji Xiaonian turned her head to look at the man beside her. In her drunken mind, she thought, 'This person looks really good! He's so attractive that… I'm envious of him.'

Despite that, Ji Xiaonian did not push him away, and instead, her small, slender body was completely attached to Lu Yifei's as he supported her to the entrance of the washroom.

Just as Lu Yifei was about to bring her into the washroom, however, a person appeared beside him and separated them.

Without even giving Lu Yifei any time to respond, the man had already placed his hand on Ji Xiaonian's waist and brought her into the washroom.

As he stood rooted in his spot, Lu Yifei did not feel any tinge of anger over the man's actions. Moreover, he did not fear anything happening to the drunken Ji Xiaonian.

Since he had already completed his mission, it was time for him to give his report.

With the corner of his lips curled into a mischievous smile, Lu Yifei then turned around and left the washroom area.

It was the first time Ji Xiaonian had ever taken alcohol. As such, all it took was two glasses for her head to swoon and become fuzzy. It was an awful feeling, so bad that she would have preferred death.

While holding onto the basin, Ji Xiaonian vomited non-stop. Her ears were already red, and at the rate that she was vomiting, she was about to spew bile.

While observing the girl, the man beside her felt his chest tightening.

"If you can't drink, then don't. You're still so young, why are you picking up all these bad habits?"

With a tissue in hand, the man gently rubbed away the stains from the corner of Ji Xiaonian's mouth.

Upon hearing the man's voice, Ji Xiaonian instantly lifted her head and stared into the mirror. She was slightly baffled by what she saw. 'Why isn't the man beside me Lu Yifei, but … Bai Yan instead?'

'Am I drunk? Is this an illusion?'

'But Lu Yifei was never this tall.'

'No, this must be an illusion.'

'Brother Yan doesn't even like me. Not only that, he probably hates me, why would he be here wiping my mouth?!'

'Yep, this is definitely an illusion.'

'But isn't this illusion a bit too real?'

Ji Xiaonian turned around and stared at the large man in front of her. She then lifted her tiny hands and began to mess around with the man's face.

"Are you really Brother Yan? Or are you Lu Yifei? Hmm, Lu Yifei looks prettier than you though. Wait, no, Brother Yan is also very handsome. He's soooo soooo handsome, hehe!"

Ji Xiaonian's vision was foggy, and she could not see the man before her clearly.

Following that, she then plunged into the man's embrace.

She was unsure whether the person before her was Brother Yan. This, however, did not stop her from giving him a bear hug. While treating the man before her as Brother Yan, she began to sob and pout.

"Boohoo… Brother Yan, you're a big meanie, you know that? Why don't you like me? Do you even know how much I like you? Boohoo…"

"I like you so much that I want to be your wife, but why, why do you hate me so much? Why…"

With a stream of tears and mucus running down her face, Ji Xiaonian grabbed the man and constantly wiped her face using the man's clothes. It was a comical sight, but still, it stung the heart of the man beside her.

As Bai Yan continued to stare at the little girl's pitiful looks, his heart suddenly softened. He then opened up his thin lips, and in a soft voice, he said, "About that night…"'I'm sorry.'

Alas, he did not manage to get out the final two words, as he had been tossed aside by Ji Xiaonian.

She angrily wiped off her snot and glared at the big man in front of her. With her brows scrunched and an angry look on her face, she spat, "No, this is wrong. There's no way you're Brother Yan. Brother Yan would never treat me this well. You're a brute that has come all the way here to take advantage of me! You're a scumbag!"

With that, Ji Xiaonian kicked Bai Yan and scurried out of the room.

After getting kicked for no reason, Bai Yan was stunned speechless.

By the time he had finally snapped back to his senses, the little girl was nowhere to be seen.

The thought of Xiaonian being majorly drunk had occurred to him, and as a result, Bai Yan immediately gave chase.

The moment he entered the banquet hall, he immediately spotted a group of people clumped up in the distance. He rushed to the spot, and when the people saw that their boss was coming over, they hurriedly opened a path for him to walk through.

It was only after the people made way for him that Bai Yan finally spotted the little girl that escaped from the washroom sitting on the floor.

'What's she doing here? Is she throwing a fit in the hall?'

"Xiaonian, listen to me. Throw away that shard. Don't hurt yourself.'

Ji Chen was initially unaware of the situation. However, upon hearing the ruckus and checking on it, he spotted his sister sitting on the ground with a broken wine glass shard in her hand. She was waving it around and wailing loudly.

"I won't! I'll only stand up if Brother Yan kisses me." Ji Xiaonian was drunk, and from the looks of it, she was blind drunk.
