30 Second Level

Name:Life After Death Author:Great_Y
Alyx entered the Paradise to enjoy it not only for its novelty but also because he was struck on what to do from now on. He had many paths and options to choose from but he did not want to waste histime by trying everything out. He came here looking for inspiration and meet someone new other than Ax or Neo.

Even though Alyx would not accept it he was very depressed and lonely for the past few months and just maintaining a facade that he is alright. This is the reason why he enjoys Ax presence and came to depend more on him for everything. Alyx when he was a human was not social but still had his family and job so he interacted with people on a regular basis, he was satisfied with that life having neither any stress nor any burden. But now he always thought on how to make CP and increase his rank. He had only Ax to share his burden and he was thankful for that or he didn't know what he would do.

Humans are a social creatures and the life of an Aon is not suited for them as they spend most of the time in isolation with little to no contact with others. If Alyx let go of his inhibitions and fully immerse himself in all the knowledge and information available to him he would have not felt that lonely but he was afraid that it would change him into an emotionless machine. He would rather be mediocre than loose his "self".

This is the reason why he did not go to the second level of Paradise immediately as he knew that the Aons are individualistic and will not mingle with each other. Even after he knew he had access to it he just spent his time in leisure on the first level. He wanted to meet with other Aons similar to him and exchange information but he knew it was just wishful thinking.

Alyx expected the second level to be desolate and not as lively as the first. Even though he had complaints and the first level was overcrowded he enjoyed it.

When Alyx appeared in the second level he once again appeared in his personal space. The personal space is fixed for every user and unique to them, although they can modify its size and shape, change its location and outer appearance. Only those who are vain and consider their image change the outer appearance and location but most Aons just let it be.

When Alyx came out of his personal space he was in a forest and the external appearance was that of a cave. He did not see anyone around and just laughed to himself as it was just as he expected.

Ax interrupted his thoughts and informed that there is a city on this level of MBN similar to the real world. Since Ax on the role of his virtual assistant he got access to information about every level which is typically explained by the virtual assistant.

Alyx thought about going there and a teleportation portal appeared in front of him. Alyx was surprised as in the first level he needed to pass through gates located at regular intervals. He understood that the conveniences at higher levels is more and was looking forward to more novel experiences.

Alyx stepped through the portal was now standing at the city square and he can see many people coming through portals and walking into the city. The city was simply called Neo city and was much better than the chaotic first level. Everything was in a neat and ordered structure like a well-planned city. It was not as crowded as first level but not as desolate as Alyx thought.

*The HQ of many civilizations in paradise is on second level as many functions are not available in first level and if they are lucky they can encounter some high level Aon and make deals with them.* Ax explained.

Alyx understood it after Ax's explanation. He went around the city and the major difference he noticed here is that there are no shops selling services or games but instead there are request boards outside every establishment.

[Solve the climate stability issue on planet ****. Reward: 10CP.]

[Relocate planet **** to the coordinate ***:***:***. Reward: 1000CP]

Seeing the boards Alyx eyeballs flew out of his sockets looking at the reward for some of the missions. There are a wide range of request listed on these boards. He wondered why they are still left open when some of them are providing such high CP.

*Most of them are undervalued when compared to the price charged by Aons officially. They are just trying their luck looking for a generous Aon or other civilizations who have such technology with them.*

"It all makes sense but won't the Aons lose business in this manner to other races."

*Aon tech is miles ahead of other civilizations and the price charged by them with their profit margin is still cheaper than the operational costs by other civilizations. They would only be accepted by desperate people or low level Aons as the profit margin is very low.*

Alyx thought this was a good opportunity for him to earn CP but all the requests need expertise in a few fields. If he can team up with some other Aons they could pull it off. He can only give up on it as he needs to spend a lot of time just learning a single field and has no contact information of other Aons.

If Alyx became an Aon in the regular way then he would have seniors from the same simulation who would be willing to guide him and he can even request help from them. But he is the first person to come from the his simulation in which Earth exists. He has the responsibility to create a strong foundation for the future generation and walk his own path no matter how tough it gets.
