38 Experimentation

After Leo's order the procedure for extraction of information directly from the brain of the creature was started. To make the simulation more believable it was first drugged and put to sleep. The lab after analyzing the creature's physiological processes was able to come up with an anesthetic which is effective on it and administered it to the creature in a discrete manner. The creature slowly became lethargic and drowsy, its head was covered with an opaque cloth to prevent it from looking at what is going to happen and the procedure began. The creature felt pain on its head and tried struggling but it was unable to put much effort and fell into a deep sleep before the simulation began.

From the way the situation is being handled one would think it is trivial and of no importance but for Aons it is a very important matter related to their survival. The laid back manner of the upper echelon is due to the fconfidence in their capabilities and the arrogance fostered by their unchallenged rule in the Aonverse.

Although Aons are the dominant power in their known universe, called as Aonverse by all its inhabitants as a silent acknowledgement of Aon's power, they are still unable to map the entire universe. Aons are of the opinion that they are near to its completion due to the fewer encounters they had with new civilizations in recent time but they encounter something new now and then which would change their outlook on the universe.

It is one of the reason for them to maintain peace with other civilizations as they are unable to know the strength of threats present in the unknown parts of the universe. Aons have benefitted from this assumption as it fueled their growth to a higher extent despite there being many skeptics among Aons on this belief, who believe they are invincible.

Now they are once again at a junction trying to assess the planetoid in front of them, whether it is a threat or an opportunity. It would either propel their civilization further or create a new threat to their rule.

In the meantime Alyx unaware of all the things happening in the world and was busy trying to learn about creation of life. After spending a large amount of time he was able to grasp the basics of manipulation of life in the Aonverse.

"I'm spent. Even with my improved processing speed and a photographic memory this shit took me more than a month just to grasp the basics. What about you Ax how are you doing?" Alyx asked Ax as he was

*I have completed it all a long time ago.* Ax replied.

Alyx can only hang his head low in shame as he thought he did great work by learning the basics in a month. For Alyx's defense the things he learned is equivalent to many doctorates back on earth but even then with the full capabilities of an Aon it would have been a breeze. Alyx achieving this with his self-imposed limitations in a month is still something of an achievement if Alyx's performance on earth is taken as a standard.

"Let's move on to the next stage. We now have to consolidate all the things learnt by performing experiments." Alyx started rubbing his hands as he was looking forward to creating something unique and if possible replicate some organism present on earth.

'Should I make some dinosaurs? What about a T-Rex? Or should I try making a mythical animal into reality?' Alyx's thoughts went into his dreams as he thought about all the possibilities and he can't stop getting excited.

From another person's point of view Alyx at present would appear as some kind of a super villain rubbing his hands and scheming some kind of sinister plot and laughing manically. Ax recently started recording Alyx's actions as a reference and talking notes on what it means to be a human. (?)

To perform experiments the only efficient way is to use Paradise as he could get virtual copies of the material at a very cheap price and for basic experiments there is a ninety nine percent equivalence to the real world, for Alyx that was sufficient as he was a beginner as not some researcher trying to discover something new.

Alyx entered the paradise along with Ax and appeared in the second level in this residence and immediately brought the materials needed in the virtual web. He expanded his home area and created a separate underground lab and placed all the material there. He also bought the related equipment and arranged them according to his preference.

All these materials were very cheap compared to their real life equivalents and he was able to get additional discount being an Aon. He can't help but the gods of luck (If they exist!) for letting his life proceed so smoothly. If he did not complete the Lantis mission by luck ow he would still be drudging away by doing menial tasks and just making ends meet. He was still not in a completely safe spot but at least he had the starting capital.

Alyx decided to first do the experiments mentioned in the material before trying to do his own variations. He stared all the equipment and after familiarizing himself with those started the material to the print and started doing things step by step.

Manipulation or creation of life can be done in two ways similar to earth modifying something already existing or creating it from scratch. Modifying something is easier compared to creating something from scratch so Alyx began by modifying a virtual copy of "Loony" a creature similar to a small bear but very docile and dumb. It is a standard creature for beginners to do experiments on similar to guinea pigs on earth.

"Haha, its name really suits it. It is similar to loonies, haha." The loony bought by him was looking at Alyx with an innocent face not knowing about the fate it is going to suffer.
