Chapter 170 - Did Song Yi Think of Her as a Kid?

Song Yi was about to curse when Han Yue Xiu started to hit him hard on his ċhėst. He could only stare at this audacious girl speechlessly. He had never been hit or kicked by anyone or any girl.

Only Han Yue Xiu was brazen enough to do those at him.

Song Yi opened his mouth to say something but stopped himself when Han Yue Xiu started to bawl like a child. Suddenly, the anger inside of him quickly disappeared. His face paled. This was the first time that he witnessed a big girl crying this hard.

"Hey, Han Yue Xiu, what's wrong with you?" Suddenly, Song Yi did not know what he should do. "What is it? Are you injured?"

Han Yue Xiu's breath hitched. "I know I was wrong to suddenly come out without looking, but why do you have to be so fierce to me?" She shouted before she crouched down to bury her face in her knees and continue to bawl in the middle of the street.

Suddenly, the passerby who came out of nowhere started to give him a strange look. In the end, Song Yi had no choice but to crouch down along with her and tried to coax Han Yue Xiu.

"Alright. I know. It was my fault. Stop crying alright?" Song Yi coaxed, but Han Yue Xiu only cried harder.

This made Song Yi panic. He did not know what he should do right now. He had never coaxed a girl before.

If someone came and asked him to solve some programming or anything work-related, Song Yi might be able to figure it out in a short time. However, asking him to figure out what was going through Han Yue Xiu's mind was difficult.

He raised his hand to pat her head, but stopped himself, knowing that she did not like it when he touched her. "Don't cry, alright?" His tone grew softer. "I'll buy you as much candy you like? Didn't you like that rabbit candy? I'll get them for you."

Han Yue Xiu chocked at her breath as she heard his words.

Did Song Yi think of her as a kid? How can he coax her with candies?

Actually, Han Yue Xiu has been bottling up her emotion after her mother was hospitalized.

She was mad at her parents but she couldn't be angry. She was sad, but she couldn't cry in front of her mother.

Han Yue Xiu did not know how long has she been crying, but once the tears stopped coming out, she was tired.

Her legs were sore after crouching down for too long. Her throat was sore and at this moment, Han Yue Xiu did not doubt that her eyes would appear swollen.

Feeling slightly embarrassed with Song Yi in front of her, Han Yue Xiu could only continue to bury her face in her knees to avoid Song Yi or any passerby to look at her face.

"Han Yue Xiu, are you okay?" Seeing that the girl in front of him had stopped to cry, Song Yi was relieved.

At this point, he no longer cares about how the passerby would look at them. As long as Han Yue Xiu would stop crying, Song Yi thought that he would be fine with anything.

Han Yue Xiu's breath hitched. Then, he replied Song Yi with a short hum.

"You must be tired after crying so much," Song Yi said. Seeing that Han Yue Xiu did not answer, Song Yi continued to ask her a few more questions in hopes that she will lift her face and say something to him.

Meanwhile, Han Yue Xiu was starting to get annoyed that the man in front of her could not stop chattering.

He was always a man of few words, why did he talk so much today?

"Song Yi," Han Yue Xiu called out with her voice hoarse.

Hearing the change in her voice, Song Yi began to panic. "Hey, what happened to your voice?"

Han Yue Xiu cleared her throat and said, "Why are you still here?"

It took Song Yi a few seconds to reply. "Han Yue Xiu, did you expect me to abandon you at a place like this? What kind of person do you think I am? Is your opinion towards me is really that low?"

Song Yi heaved a long breath when the girl did not reply to him. "Come on. Let's go. We've been here long enough. You must be thirsty after crying that much."

Han Yue Xiu continued to bury her head. She took a few deep breaths and said. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to kick you."

"I know."

"Song Yi," Han Yue Xiu paused for a few seconds before she spoke again. "The doctor said that if I didn't arrive in time, something might go wrong with my mother."

"You were worried about your mother," Song Yi finally knew why Han Yue Xiu been crying so much.

He had thought that she was mad at him.

"Your mother will be alright," Song Yi said. "The doctors here are very capable. Or else, you can bring your mother back to our country and let her have her surgery there. I happen to know a good cardiologist."

"I didn't even know that she was unwell. It turns out that my parents been keeping this a secret from me."

There was a brief silence between them. Song Yi finally picked up his courage and patted her hair softly as if to coax her. At a time like this, he did not know how to console her. After all, his relationship with his parents was not that good.

"Come on. Let's go back," Song Yi said. "Your parents must be worried about you as well."

"I can't go back."

"Why not?"

"My legs are numb. I can't move them. Moreover, my face is swollen," Han Yue Xiu raised her head slowly and as a result, she managed to scare Song Yi with her swollen face and caused him to fall back on his buŧŧock.

"Han Yue Xiu, you…"

"If you dare to say that I look ugly, I'm going to kick you again."

Song Yi pursed his lips. After a while, he took off his jacket and put it on Han Yue Xiu's head. "Okay, if you hid your head under this jacket, no one is going to see you, right?"

"Thank you." Han Yue Xiu pulled at his jacket to cover her face properly. She tried to move his legs slowly and winced at the pain.

"We should return to the apartment and let you freshen up first. Then, you'll go back to the hospital to see your parents, alright?" Song Yi said as he helped her to stand up. "Right. You should send a message to your father and tell him that you're alright. Earlier, he was worried about you."

Han Yue Xiu tightened her grip at his jacket and nodded. "Oh."
