Han Yue Xiu ran into both her father and Song Yi as she dashed out from the ward and headed to the elevator.
Father Han stared at her daughter but was unable to say anything. Looking at her daughter's expression, Father Han could guess at how the conversation between the mother and daughter ended.
In the end, he could not do or say anything but to watch as her daughter entered the elevator and leave.
Anyway, it was best to give her daughter some space to clear up her mind. Once her anger goes down, Father Han did not doubt that the mother and daughter will patch up their relationship again.
However, Father Han was still worried about his daughter's state of mind. He turned around and wondered whether he should go and coax her daughter.
But Father Han knew well that her daughter was angry at him as well. He too took part to keep his wife's condition a secret. Even if he tried to say a few words to Han Yue Xiu, Father Han knew that his daughter was not willing to hear anything until she calmed down.
Father Han took a step forward to go after her child and paused when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Turning around, Father Han saw that his new next-door neighbor was looking at him.
"Uncle, I'll look after her," Song Yi said before he walked over to the elevator to find Han Yue Xiu.
Father Han could only heave a long sigh. Knowing that there was someone to look after his daughter, Father Han was relieved. He did not know the new neighbor that well, but he had heard from his wife previously that this guy was his daughter's ex-boss.
Since the two know each other, it should be alright, right?
Not wanting to think too much, Father Han turned around to look for his wife.
…
Song Yi muttered a silence cursed as he could not find Han Yue Xiu. When he saw her crying face earlier, Song Yi felt turbulence in his heart.
For as long as he knew this girl, when did she ever shed a tear? Even when he 'bullied' her with overtime and unrelated task, Han Yue Xiu would always grit her teeth in anger.
When she could not hold them anymore, she would often find a way to release her anger. Sometimes by lashing at him, but most of the time, she would play a trick on him for revenge.
He ran back and forth in the lobby to look for Han Yue Xiu and started to panic.
A security guard then walked over to him with a warning not to run around in the hospital.
Song Yi held the guard on both shoulders and described Han Yue Xiu's to him. Once the guard pointed towards the exit, Song Yi then ran out.
However, there were a lot of people walking around. Song Yi could only run around blindly to look for Han Yue Xiu.
Where could this girl be hiding? Though she had long legs, it couldn't be that she had run off too far right?
Song Yi stopped at his track to catch up with his breath. He had both hands on his knees, but his eyes were wandering around to look for Han Yue Xiu's figure in the crowd.
Just as he stood up straight to look for her again, Song Yi caught Han Yue Xiu's figure not far away from him.
Song Yi took a deep breath and walked towards her. As he was approaching her, Song Yi tried to call out her name, however, Han Yue Xiu seemed as if she did not hear or want to stop anytime soon. She continued to walk fast, ignoring everything around her.
Knowing that Han Yue Xiu was in a bad mood after what has been happening to her mother, Song Yi chose to follow her in silence. Anyway, that girl could be feisty when she was in such a mood. He did not want to be cannon fodder and faced her wrath.
When did he ever have this chance to look at her for as long as he wanted? Han Yue Xiu would always give him a sharp look whenever she caught him staring.
Fortunately, they were on a road where there were not a lot of people. At least, there won't be anyone who would look at him strangely when they noticed that he was following her.
At this time, Song Yi began to notice a few things about Han Yue Xiu.
For example, her springy steps were somewhat adorable. It seemed as if every time Han Yue Xiu took a step, she was going to jump up next for a slam dunk.
He had been watching her a few days ago and knew that Han Yue Xiu was pretty good at basketball.
Song Yi continued to observe her and suddenly, he cleared his throat when his eyes started to wander to some places that he shouldn't have.
As Han Yue Xiu was about to cross the road, Song Yi noticed an upcoming car from the right. Sensing that this girl was still in absentminded, Song Yi lurched forward to pull her away.
Thankfully, Song Yi managed to pull Han Yue Xiu away before the car could run into her.
The driver lowered his window to mutter some curses and only left once he had given both Han Yue Xiu and Song Yi a middle finger.
After checking that there were no injuries on her body, Song Yi looked up to meet her gaze. Instantly, he felt a surge of anger.
"Han Yue Xiu, are you looking for death?" Song Yi shouted. "Do you know how dangerous that was? How can you cross the road without looking?"
Han Yue Xiu stared at the man in front of her with her wide eyes. Her heart was beating furiously after that incident.
She was not paying attention just now and was almost hit by a car. Of course, she was still in shock. However, this man in front of her continued to shout at her instead of consoling her. Han Yue Xiu opened her mouth to say something, but Song Yi continued to scold her.
"Do you know what will happen if you were hit by that car? Your mother is now in the hospital. Do you want your parents to worry about you?"
Feeling aggrieved that she was continuously scolded, Han Yue Xiu felt her nose and eyes started to sting. Suddenly, Han Yue Xiu raised her leg to kick Song Yi on his shin, causing the man to yelp in pain.
"Song Yi, you idiot!"
