Chapter 192 - What if She Misunderstands You?

The wedding reception soon ended and the guests began to leave the banquet hall after having their fill of good food and drinks. 

After saying their farewell to Chairman Li and the others, Zhang Jing and Zhang Yu Ying was ready to return to the hotel. As Li Qin Yao had gone to discuss a few matters with Li Mu Bai, Zhang Yu Han decided to escort his grandfather to leave the reception first.

The three of them stood at the entrance while waiting for Xiao Ye to arrive. As both the mayor and Secretary Bai had decided to come over to chat with Zhang Jing while waiting, the three of them caught the other attention.

At this time, Zhang Yu Han was glad that his girlfriend was not around lest she would feel pressured by the attention.

Thinking of his absented girlfriend, Zhang Yu Han began to worry. He glanced at the wrist and was about to complain of Xiao Ye's tardiness when he saw that watch. A smile curved on his lips as he recalled that it was a gift from his girlfriend.

"That's new," Zhang Yu Ying spoke. She noticed that her brother has been staring absentmindedly at his watch and was curious at what he was looking at. "I have never seen that watch before. When did you get a new watch?"

Zhang Yu Han snapped out of his trance and hid the watch under his sleeve. "It's a present from your sister-in-law."

Zhang Yu Ying clicked her tongue as she watched her brother quickly hid away his arms before she could take a good look at the present. She muttered a few dissatisfaction words before she raised a brow at her brother. "No wonder you look so happy."

Zhang Yu Han covered a hand on the watch as he heard the clicking of high heels heading towards them. He turned around and frowned when he saw that familiar face heading towards them. Of course, Zhang Yu Han had remembered the face of the woman who had disturbed his alone time with his girlfriend earlier.

Of course, the newcomer was no one else other than Li Mu Chen. 

Seeing that the woman was about to come closer to them, Zhang Yu Han turned to look away. However, at this time, he saw how Li Mu Chen tripped on the carpet and was about to fall forward. 

Before Zhang Yu Han could do anything to avoid Li Mu Chen's falling, Zhang Yu Han saw something flashed before his eyes. Seconds later, Zhang Yu Ying was supporting Li Mu Chen to stand up.

"Miss Li, are you alright?" Zhang Yu Ying asked. She helped Li Mu Chen to stand up and smiled.

Meanwhile, Li Mu Chen gritted her teeth as her plan to play as a helpless maiden has failed. However, knowing Zhang Yu Ying's identity, there was nothing that she can do towards her.

"Thank you for your help," Li Mu Chen forced a smile.

As Zhang Yu Ying saw the smile, a thought crossed her mind and she decided to play along. "Miss Li, you have to be careful with your steps," her voice was slightly high as she spoke. "Fortunately, I was quick enough to catch you."

Li Mu Chen lifted her head and blushed when she noticed that everyone around was staring at her. Even the mayor and Secretary Bai were now looking at her direction. She lifted her head to look at Zhang Yu Han and was disappointed when he did not even spare a glance at her.

Since her initial plan has failed, Li Mu Chen could not think to spare another minute under the others' gaze. She clenched her hand on her skirt before she turned around and head back into the hall.

Zhang Yu Ying watched her jogged with her high heel and put on an innocent smile on her face. "I thought she was heading out? Why did she turn around into the hall?"

When she heard a chuckle coming from her brother, Zhang Yu Ying looked up and smiled. She latched at her brother's arm and said, "Brother, I've helped you just now."

Zhang Yu Han raised a brow but refused to say anything.

"If I did not block Miss Li for you, she would surely fall onto you," Zhang Yu Ying spoke in a lower voice so that only the two of them could hear. "Imagine what will happen if my sister-in-law saw that scene. What if she misunderstands you?"

"What do you want?" Zhang Yu Han spoke after a while.

"Hmm," Zhang Yu Ying pretended to ponder. "Grandfather wanted me to look into M City's report and I'm not confident I to do it."

Zhang Yu Han stared at his sister for a while. "I'll show you. Just this once."

Hearing the answer she wanted, Zhang Yu Ying's smile grew wider. 

After a while, Xiao Ye finally arrived in his car to fetch both the Chairman and Zhang Yu Ying back to the hotel. Once Zhang Yu Han bid them goodbye, he took out his phone and turned to look for his girlfriend. 

As he reached a corner, Zhang Yu Han heard the sound of high heels clicking behind him. After hearing the same clicking sound a few times, it was not hard for him to figure out who was it.

Zhang Yu Han stopped abruptly and turned around to see that Li Mu Chen behind him. 

Li Mu Chen's eyes went wide as she was not expecting that Zhang Yu Han would suddenly stop and turn. After a while, she put a smile on her face and stepped slowly towards him.

"Director Zhang, I believe that we have not been introduced properly earlier," Li Mu Chen said. "I'm Li Mu Chen. Yao Yao's cousin."

Zhang Yu Han shot a sharp glance at her before he turned around. Anyway, he had left his girlfriend's side for a long time and he was worried that something might happen. He tilted his head down to look at his phone and saw that Li Qin Yao had texted him back, saying that she had finished her discussion with Li Mu Bai. 

Seeing that Zhang Yu Han did not want to spare a glance towards her, Li Mu Chen clenched her hand tightly. She stepped forward to go after Zhang Yu Han and shouted. "Director Zhang. I guess you did not know a few things about my cousin before you started to date her, right?"

Zhang Yu Han's steps gradually stopped as he heard Li Mu Chen's words.

Meanwhile, Li Mu Chen had a smile on her face as she saw that the man had stopped. She took a few steps towards him and watched him turned around to look at her. "Director Zhang, have you heard about that accident in Capital City two years ago? A shopping mall collapsed, causing a few construction workers to die."
