Chapter 204 - He was Burning Up

Li Qin Yao arrived in Y City just before the sky turned dark. She fetched a taxi from the station and within fifteen minutes, the taxi pulled over at a luxurious apartment building near the lake garden.

Hastily, she went inside the building. With the address from Zhang Yu Ying, she finally arrived at the door.

Taking a deep breath, Li Qin Yao cast another look at the number on the wall. After ensuring that she had indeed arrived at the right place, Li Qin Yao raised her hand shakily and pressed on the doorbell.

This was the first time that she had come over to Zhang Yu Han's place.

Although she should be anxious as this was the first time she had visited his apartment, Li Qin Yao was more worried that she was not able to find him in the apartment.

It was fine if she was unable to reach him because he was sleeping in his apartment. However, it would be a different matter if she could not find him inside.

She wouldn't know what to do if she could not find him.

Various thoughts came to her mind all at once. There were too many 'what ifs' and negative thoughts.

Finally, Li Qin Yao snapped out of her trance and shook her head to clear her mind. She pressed the bell once and silently counted to ten.

However, the person she was looking for did not appear at the door. Anxiously, Li Qin Yao pressed at the doorbell again and waited.

However, the response was the same. Zhang Yu Han did not appear at the door.

His phone has been turned off, probably from the lack of power.

She scrambled to find Zhang Yu Ying's message to search for the passcode. Li Qin Yao held her breath as she pressed at the numbers. A beeping sound came after she pressed on the enter buŧŧon and Li Qin Yao pushed the door open.

Fortunately, she had entered the right number.

Li Qin Yao entered the apartment stealthily and was surprised to find that it was dark inside.

"Hello? Zhang Yu Han?" She called out his name from the entrance and began to fumble for the switch.

The room was brightly lightened after she clicked on the switch and it took her a few seconds to adjust her eyes against the light.

Closing the door behind her, she then walked into the house to search for Zhang Yu Han's silhouette.

Her gaze roamed around the living room, but she could not find the person she was looking for. Carefully, she continued to walk around the house and soon stopped when she reached the master bedroom.

The door was wide open and from where she stood, Li Qin Yao could see Zhang Yu Han sprawling on the bed.

She put her phone back into her bag and walked over to check on his condition.

"Zhang Yu Han?" She called out his name softly as if afraid that she was going to startle him. However, the person on the bed did not move at all.

Li Qin Yao walked closer to him and glanced at the half-emptied glass and medicine on the table. She put a hand on his forehead and was shocked upon finding that he was burning up.

She retracted her hand and patted at his shoulder. "Zhang Yu Han?"

The man moved slightly under her touch. His eyelashes fluttered slightly. He opened his eyes and stared at her in a daze before he shifted his position and continued to sleep.

Li Qin Yao started to panic. She grabbed her phone and quickly dialed Zhang Yu Ying's number. After a few rings, Zhang Yu Ying's cheery voice greeted her.

"Yu Ying," Li Qin Yao's voice was anxious. "Your brother is burning up. What should I do?" A thought crossed her mind and she blurted out, "Should I call the ambulance?"

Zhang Yu Ying paused. She took a couple of deep breaths and spoke, "Sister-in-law, don't panic, alright? I'll call a doctor to come over."

Li Qin Yao listened attentively to Zhang Yu Ying's voice and instruction.

When she hung up, Li Qin Yao hurried into the bathroom to get a small basin with water and a small towel. She tucked Zhang Yu Han's body under the quilt, sat down at the edge of the bed, and started to wipe his face and neck in the hope that it will reduce his temperature.

Almost twenty minutes later, the doorbell rang.

Li Qin Yao left his side and went towards the door. She looked at the person through the camera and was surprised when she saw that familiar face.

Quickly, she swung the door open and stared at the man with a questioning gaze.

"Miss Li," the man greeted her.

Li Qin Yao stared at his face for a brief second before she spoke. "You're Zhang Yu Han's friend, Qi Zheng, right?"

"I'm glad that Miss Li still remembers me," Qi Zheng smiled. He glanced into the house and back to the woman in front of him "Zhang Yu Ying called and told me that there is an emergency?"

"Right," Li Qin Yao opened the door and moved aside to let the man into the house. It was then that she noticed that Qi Zheng was carrying a black bag in his hand. "Are you a doctor?"

Qi Zheng replied with a smile. "Can you lead me to the Captain?"

Li Qin Yao nodded. She led Qi Zheng into Zhang Yu Han's room and stood at the side as she watched Qi Zheng checked on Zhang Yu Han's temperature.

"How is he?" Li Qin Yao asked when Qi Zheng stood up.

"I'm guessing that Captain is down with a fever due to lack of rest," Qi Zheng said. "Fortunately, his temperature was not too high," his gaze moved towards the side table and his lips curved into a small smile when he saw the small basin on the table. When he returned his gaze to Li Qin Yao, Qi Zheng could see that she was distressed with Zhang Yu Han's condition.

"Miss Li," Qi Zheng spoke in a soothing voice. "You don't have to worry. Our Captain is always like this. He would sleep whenever he had a fever and woke up after a night of sleep. I'll prescribe some medicine. But, he should be alright after some rest. "

Li Qin Yao turned to Zhang Yu Han and frowned.

Qi Zheng searched into his bag and took out a few tablets and medicine. Then he proceeded to inform her about consuming those medicine. "These medicines are best to be consumed after he had something to eat," Qi Zheng reminded. "Just give him something light to eat after he wakes up and make sure he drink a lot of water."
