Last few weeks ago, Li Qin Yao had left B City to Capital City to visit Han Yue Xiu and attended her cousin's wedding. Because of that, she could not leave her work for too long as the construction will soon begin.
As she had decided to stay around a while longer to accompany her boyfriend, Li Qin Yao had to make sure that her decision will not affect the development project.
After freshening up in the bathroom, Li Qin Yao sat in the living room together with Zhang Yu Han. Both of them were focusing on their ŀȧptop.
Although she wanted nothing but to let Zhang Yu Han rest, Li Qin Yao knew that it was unreasonable to make him stay in bed doing nothing.
As he had just returned from M City, he still has a few works to do to tie up any loose ends.
After a consideration, Li Qin Yao set a limit of two hours for him to do his work before he will be forced to take a break. Anyway, that would be a better choice than letting him go to his office.
Li Qin Yao raised her head from her ŀȧptop and glanced at the man across from her. Somehow, just being together in the same room just like that gave her a sense of serenity.
Her lips tilted into a smile as she peeked at his serious expression on his face. A slight crease formed at the space between his eyebrow and his jaw tightened.
Zhang Yu Han's fingers on the keyboard paused when he had this sense of being watched. Lifting his gaze, he caught his girlfriend staring at him with a shy smile on her face.
Their gaze met and she did not attempt to hide that she was staring at him. Seeing the way he was looking at him, the frown on his face gradually disappeared. He leaned back on the sofa and patted the space beside him on the sofa.
Tacitly, Li Qin Yao put her ŀȧptop on the table, stood up, and walked over to him. Instead of sitting down beside him, Li Qin Yao put a hand on his forehead to measure his temperature. A sigh escaped her when she found that his fever did not return.
"I'm fine."
Li Qin Yao raised a brow at him before she glanced at the clock. "You have another hour to work. Then, you're going to take a break."
His lips curled into a smile. He placed his ŀȧptop aside, grabbed at her hand, and pulled her to sit on his ŀȧps. "I'll take a quick break right now. Anyway, I could not concentrate on my work when you stare at me like that."
Tilting her head with a mischievous smile on her face, Li Qin Yao put her arms around his neck to look at him. "Then, I'll just stop staring at you."
"But I like finding you staring at me," Zhang Yu Han teased. "Am I very attractive?"
Li Qin Yao had buŧŧerflies in her stomach as she continued to watch him. His penetrating gaze on hers coupled with his deep voice ignited an indescribable joy. She bit at her lips and nodded.
"Did you only agree to date me because of my good look?"
Li Qin Yao laughed at his question. She lowered her gaze and stopped at his Adam's apple. She removed a hand from his shoulder and proceeded to touch the protruding on his neck. She watched as his Adam's apple moved and fought the urge to kiss it. "Actually…" Her gaze returned to his. "Zhang Yu Han, you have a very nice voice."
Zhang Yu Han watched her with a puzzling gaze. He had never been told that he had a nice voice. It was the first time that someone had told him about it and therefore he was curious.
"So, you liked my voice?"
The smile on her face widened as she recalled the first time she had heard his voice. "Do you remember that sushi restaurant where we first met?"
Zhang Yu Han wanted to argue that their first meeting was not at the sushi restaurant, but the words did not leave his lips and instead he replied to her with a nod.
Taking a deep breath, Li Qin Yao spoke, "I have a confession!"
Zhang Yu Han let out a soft laugh. At this time, he could not understand his girlfriend's train of thought, or why did she frequently change their topic of discussion.
Weren't they were talking about how she found that he had a nice voice? How did their conversation jumped to their meeting at the sushi restaurant and a sudden confession in just seconds?
"What confession?" Zhang Yu Han decided to just follow her thinking process.
"Haven't I mentioned to you previously that I was sitting beside you on that day?"
So they were talking about their meeting in the sushi restaurant after all?
Zhang Yu Han nodded.
"Back then, I was eavesdropping to your blind date because I found that your voice was really good to listen to," Li Qin Yao paused as she wondered why was she disclosing this secret to him now.
She continued to stare at him and decided that it was both his suave look and voice that persuaded her into divulging her secret.
"I think," she licked at her lips nervously when she found him staring back at her with his penetrating gaze. "I think I might have fallen for your voice at that time."
His gaze darkened at her sudden confession. "What do you like about my voice?"
Li Qin Yao laughed. She opened her mouth to answer but then decided that she had told him enough. She flashed him another mischievous grin and spoke. "Not telling you."
Zhang Yu Han let out a helpless chuckle. He gave a peck at her lips and her mischievous smile on her lips quickly disappeared.
"Qin Yao." His voice was deep, rich, and dangerous.
"Hmm?"
Her heartbeat accelerated.
Li Qin Yao thought that she had perhaps made the wrong move by telling him her secret. Right now, hearing him pronouncing her name with that voice was slowly driving her crazy.
"Tell me." He tried to coax her with his voice.
Li Qin Yao pursed her lips tightly, refusing to say another word. It was best if she kept her mouth shut. She was afraid that anything she said later will be used against her.
Seeing that she had persistently kept her mouth shut, Zhang Yu Han leaned forward and kissed her on her lips. Slowly he pried her lips open.
