Chapter 212 - She Was Not Ready For This!

The smile on her face froze. Her body tensed and Li Qin Yao felt as if she was going to hyperventilate any time soon.

Li Qin Yao stared at the man in front of her in a daze. It seemed that her brain short-circuited and she was not able to think things straight. At this moment, Li Qin Yao was in a state of disbelief. 

Weren't they just casually chatting just now? Why did he suddenly propose marriage?

Wait a minute. Was that a marriage proposal?

How can he pop out the question just like that? 

She was not ready for this!

Li Qin Yao opened and closed her mouth as if wanting to say something, but was unable to do so. A lot of things went through her mind all at once and she did not know which thought she should focus on.

In the end, she could only stare at Zhang Yu Han with her mouth agape.

It was only then that he realized that he should have at least prepared a proposal speech. Or else, how was he going to convince her to marry him.

Earlier, the thought of spending his days with her, doing anything they liked excited him. He was caught in the moment and as he stared at the girl in his embrace, Zhang Yu Han had this thought that he really wanted them to be a husband and wife, and then, the two of them can live together.

Thus, he did not hesitate to pop up the question.

The two of them were very compatible. He loved her dearly and she loved him too. His grandfather had already given them his blessings. Even though his parents had never met Li Qin Yao, Zhang Yu Han had no doubt that they will love her the moment they saw their daughter-in-law.

Since that was the case, Zhang Yu Han knew that he should not waste their time. It was better for them to be married and spend their life together.

After all, he had wasted ten years to find her again.

When he had found her again, he was devastated to find out that she was in a relationship. Once he found out that she was single, he was too slow at chasing after her as he was afraid to get rejected. 

He had almost lost her because he was a step too late.

But now, their relationship has been going on smooth and steady. They learned about each other and he had fallen for her with each day they spent together. Zhang Yu Han could not imagine his life without Li Qin Yao.

Just like this time… he was afraid that she will reject him. Zhang Yu Han really did not know what he should do if she was going to say no.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Yu Han then spoke with a shaky voice, "Qin Yao… I love you." 

Her heart skipped a beat and she was starting to feel a bit dizzy as blood rushed to her head all at once.

She had heard Zhang Yu Han said those words when he was drunk, but this time, hearing the same words again, the feeling was very different. This time he was very sober. His voice sounded deep and husky. And his eyes were staring back at her with a mixture of tenderness and uncertainty.

"Perhaps, you would think that this is too sudden," Zhang Yu Han spoke after a while. "We have only started seeing each other for a while. I can't predict the future… And to tell you the truth, I was scared of how things will turn out for us after this, or how everything going to be once we take this step."

Li Qin Yao was blinked as she continued to listen to his words. 

"I cannot promise that I will be perfect for you. I can't promise that I won't make mistakes and I can't promise that I won't hurt you as we go along," Zhang Yu Han continued. "But if you are willing to take this risk and give this a chance, then, I can only promise you that I will do my best for you. Li Qin Yao," he mustered a smile. "Will you marry me?"

Li Qin Yao felt her nose started to feel sour and her eyes were starting to get misty.

He had caught her off her guard!

Although he had casually proposed, she could tell that he was scared and nervous as he waited for her answer. She knew that it took him a lot of courage to propose.

Zhang Yu Han started to panic when he saw her tears streamed down her cheek. He did not know what he did wrong or why was she crying. At this moment, Zhang Yu Han began to blame himself for his impatience.

"Why are you crying?" Zhang Yu Han asked. "Did I say something wrong?"

Li Qin Yao whimpered before she buried her face on his ċhėst. Her ear was so close to his heart that she could hear how it beat loudly inside.

She did not know why she was crying, but the tears just came out and it won't stop no matter how much she tried to stop it. 

Although the tears won't stop pouring out, Li Qin Yao felt a surge of warmth spreading all over her body. She was touched by his words. He won't promise for the things that he might not be able to fulfill, but he had promised to always be the best for her.

For her, that was enough.

Li Qin Yao wiped her tears from the back of her hand and saw that he was looking at her with worry. A chuckle escaped her. 

Her man was very handsome and adorable. He was her love-struck fool and unknowingly, he too had turned her into his love-struck fool.

Li Qin Yao gave a light squeeze on his shoulder before she leaned forward to kiss him on his lips. 

Staring at his dazed expression, Li Qin Yao then smiled brightly at him and nodded. "Alright. Yes. I'll marry you."
