Chapter 232 - Lean on Me

Recently, Zhang Yu Han had noticed a slight change in his wife.

Though she had always said she was fine, Zhang Yu Han knew that there was something that has been bothering her. It's just that… the matter that has been bothering her was something that she was not willing to share with him at the moment.

His first thought was that he had perhaps made a mistake somewhere. After all, they were newlyweds, and it was possible that he did not understand her too well.

But looking at her expression every time she turned her head at him, Zhang Yu Han knew that she was not mad at him.

His next guess was that his wife was facing some problems with the development project. Therefore, he decided to ask one of his wife's staff if there was any problem.

Anyway, he was closer to them after spending a month with them previously.

But after asking around, he found that the progress of the project was going on smoothly and that there was nothing interesting other than everyone was a little excited about joining the dinner party which will be held in a few days.

So, it was concluded that his wife was not worrying about the company's matter.

After a few days has passed, Zhang Yu Han still could not find out anything else. In the end, he decided to be patient.

Since she was not willing to say anything, Zhang Yu Han could only wait for her until she was willing to tell him her worry. If it was a matter that she wanted him to know, she will tell him.

However, that does not mean that he was happy to see the worried look on her face.

If he could not share her burden, he would at least want to ease her worry.

But… what can he do when she won't share her thoughts with him?

After having a light dinner with his wife, Zhang Yu Han suggested them to have a walk around in the park before the two of them head back home. The two of them walked around the neighborhood near the restaurant and enjoyed the night view together.

Zhang Yu Han glanced at the woman beside him to study her expression. Sighing inwardly, he then stopped abruptly in front of her and hesitated. "Come on, let's go."

Li Qin Yao blinked a few times. "Go… where?"

"You will know soon," he smiled to ease her mind. "Don't worry, I am not going to kidnap you."

Hearing his joke, Li Qin Yao let out a laugh. She gave a light squeeze at his hand and said, "Okay, let's go."

Relieved that she was willing to follow his lead without question, Zhang Yu Han then led her to walk around the neighborhood, and soon, they arrived at a basketball court.

Li Qin Yao smiled as she followed her husband to enter the court.

Surprisingly, there was a ball left at the center of the court. She watched as he picked up the ball, dribbled it a few times, and jumped to shot a three-pointer.

Zhang Yu Han picked up the ball again and walked over to her. Then, he stopped with the orange ball in his hand. "Let's play a few rounds," Zhang Yu Han suggested. "It has been a while since we both play together."

Li Qin Yao stared at the ball in his hand and hesitated. Looking at the anticipation in his face, she then agreed. "Okay. But you should go easy on me. You know that I am not good at this sport."

Pulling her into the center of the court, Zhang Yu Han gave her a crash course to refresh her memory on the game. Then, he passed the ball to her to let her shoot a ball, while he played as the defender.

Li Qin Yao dribbled the ball on the court and just as she shot a ball into the hoop, her husband had appeared in front of her to block the ball.

Even though she knew the ball will not go into the hoop, seeing that Zhang Yu Han had blocked the ball still make her unhappy. She pouted at him and pretended to be angry before she stole the ball from his hand.

Zhang Yu Han watched her act speechlessly before he started to chase after her.

Knowing that their difference in height might cause them an accident, Zhang Yu Han was careful not to bump into her.

Seeing that he had started to chase after her, Li Qin Yao let out a yelp before she ran away with the ball.

Half an hour later, Li Qin Yao sat at the bench and panted to catch up with her breath. Soon after, a bottle of drinking water appeared beside her. Li Qin Yao tilted her head up and saw her husband's smiling face. She took the bottle from him and started drinking.

"Drink slowly," Zhang Yu Han reminded as he sat down beside her.

Li Qin Yao narrowed her eyes at her husband. "I lost. Zhang Yu Han, you bullied me. You won't even let me score once." Although she could not score a ball because of her terrible shot, Li Qin Yao still wanted to blame it on her husband.

"Alright. It was my fault," Zhang Yu Han spoke softly. "I should have let you score once."

"Hearing that does not make me feel any better," Li Qin Yao frowned.

Zhang Yu Han chuckled. He stared at her face for a while and said, "But you had fun, right?"

Li Qin Yao heaved a sigh before she nodded. "Un." She turned to Zhang Yu Han with a smile on her face.

"It's good that you had fun." he bopped at her nose.

"But why did you suddenly take me to play basketball?"

"I hope that this will help you to clear your mind a little bit." He stared at her for a few seconds longer and said, "Qin Yao, recently, I noticed that you have been staring out a lot. Are you in trouble?"

Suddenly, Li Qin Yao felt her heart ached at his tone of voice. As someone who loved the sound of his voice, Li Qin Yao could hear that there was a tone of sadness in his voice.

"It's not that," she tried to smile to ease his worry. "I just have something in my mind. Don't worry too much."

"How can I not worry?" Zhang Yu Han sighed at her answer. "I know that you can be very independent. But Qin Yao, as your husband, I also wish that you would tell me anything that has been weighing your mind and learn to lean on me."

The smile on her face gradually disappeared. She met his gaze and saw the way he was looking back at her tenderly.

"Even if I cannot do anything to help, I wish to face every hardship and difficulties together with you. If you have anything that has been troubling you, I wish that you can share them with me."
