Chapter 236 - The Weather is Getting Colder

As soon as she got off the Cayenne, Li Qin Yao felt something warm around her shoulder. Turning around, she saw that her husband had taken off his coat and draped them on her shoulders.

"What are you doing?" She touched the garment that did not match her dress and frowned.

"The weather is getting colder these days. You should wear them," Zhang Yu Han said.

"It's not that cold. Moreover, your coat is too big for me. It doesn't match my dress and I probably look like a clown wearing your oversized coat." Li Qin Yao tried to remove his coat but was stopped by her husband.

"Just wear them," Zhang Yu Han spoke with a serious look on his face. "Just let me be at ease."

A smile curved on her lips as she watched his expression. "Then what about you? Aren't you cold?"

"I'll be fine."

Li Qin Yao giggled knowing that the reason he gave away his coat was not due to the cold weather.

She stopped in front of him, pulled at his collar so that he was bending towards her, and kissed him gently on his lips. Her lips curled up at his dazed expression. Li Qin Yao wiped at the red stain on his lips with her thumb and said, "Zhang Yu Han, you are so cute."

"Cute?"

Li Qin Yao leaned in for another peck and stepped back. "Stay here for a while."

Before Zhang Yu Han could react, Li Qin Yao walked around the car and opened the cargo space to retrieve something from one of her bags that she had brought along from her mother's apartment.

When she appeared in front of him again, Li Qin Yao had taken off his coat and her shoulder was wrapped with a black lace shawl. 

Zhang Yu Han went to her and was satisfied upon seeing her new look. Although the shawl was a bit transparent to his liking, at least it was covering some part of her body that he did not want others to see. The others had to stand close to her to peek at her beautiful back.

"Fortunately, I found a shawl in my closet that would match my purse and shoes," Li Qin Yao said. She twirled in front of him and raised a brow. "How do I look?"

When she first saw the outfit, Li Qin Yao had thought that it would be great to bring a shawl in case the air-conditioner was too cold.

"Better." He nodded. 

Actually, Zhang Yu Han knew that his wife would look better without the shawl around her. But at this time, Zhang Yu Han preferred for that shawl to stay. Especially when he knew who was going to be presented at this dinner party.

Laughing, Li Qin Yao entwined her hand with her husband before the two of them walked to the entrance.

Liang Sheng was already waiting for them at the entrance. When he saw the couple, Liang Sheng greeted them with a polite smile on his face before he quickly gave her a quick report of their guests' attendance.

"Xiao Lian Yi and the others are entertaining the others," Liang Sheng said. "Everyone is waiting for your arrival before this dinner can officially begin."

Li Qin Yao thanked Liang Sheng and linked her hand with Zhang Yu Han's arms as they entered the banquet hall. 

As the banquet door swung open, the conversation in the hall gradually faltered as everyone turned their eyes towards Li Qin Yao. The guests started to whisper among themselves when they saw that Li Qin Yao had entered the hall with a male companion. Although some of them had seen the couple together, none of them know of their relationship.

But as they saw the way Li Qin Yao linked her arms with the man's, they quickly guess that the two might be in a relationship.

A president of a company approached her and exchanged a few words before Liang Sheng reminded her that she still needed to make a speech.

Li Qin Yao walked towards the center and grabbed a microphone from Xiao Lian Yi. 

Li Qin Yao gave a brief speech to thank everyone for coming to the dinner party, wished for smooth cooperation between their company and ended the speech with a wish for everyone to enjoy themselves during the party.

Once the speech ended, everyone in the room gave her a round of applause before they went back to mingle and enjoyed the food prepared.

A few of their business partners greeted her and started to discuss something on business. After a while, they started to notice the tall man who stood behind Li Qin Yao.

When Li Qin Yao began to notice their curious gaze, she immediately introduced Zhang Yu Han as her husband.

The others around Li Qin Yao exchanged their glances.

"I did not know that you are married," one of them spoke.

Li Qin Yao tilted her head up to look at her husband and said, "We only obtained our marriage certificate recently."

The others glanced at the Li Qin Yao's hand which was linked at the man's arms and noticed the wedding ring.

"Then, the two of you are newlyweds," he continued. "Congratulations. I wish you a happy marriage."

As he glanced at the man who always stood behind her, Li Qin Yao had this feeling that Zhang Yu Han was actually blocking other's view of her back. As this thought crossed her mind, Li Qin Yao shook her head, thinking that her thought was absurd. After all, she had already draped a shawl around her body. 

"Are you hungry?" Li Qin Yao asked as she turned to Zhang Yu Han. "Let's get something light to eat first. After this, we'll go somewhere to have a proper supper, alright?"

At the thought that his wife has not eaten anything and was too busy entertaining her guests, Zhang Yu Han quickly agreed.

The couple walked towards the buffet table and started to choose a few light dishes.

"Yao Yao!"

Li Qin Yao turned around as she heard that familiar voice. A frown appeared on her face when he saw Chen Hao walking towards her with a big grin on his face.

Knowing that they were in the eyes of the public, Li Qin Yao chose to act diplomatically. "Mister Chen, thank you for attending our dinner party."

The smile on Chen Hao's face froze. As he stood in front of Li Qin Yao, Chen Hao suddenly realized that there was a third wheel in his reunion with Li Qin Yao.
