Chapter 251 - Distract Her Mind

Zhang Jing ċȧrėssed his chin as he listened to his grandson's summarizing at what was happening in H Town. 

"Once Ming Wei and his man had managed to secure Guo Jun Shan's family, Qin Yao and I will head over to Capital City to meet with her grandfather," Zhang Yu Han said. "Qin Yao wanted to let her grandfather to know the truth from Guo Jun Shan's mouth and let him decide on what he was going to do next."

Zhang Jing scoffed as his thought went to Li Qin Yao's grandfather. If Li Ren Xin did not handle the situation well, Zhang Jing was determined to intervene in the matter.

As Li Qin Yao had now married his grandson, she was a part of the Zhang family. As the elder of the Zhang family, there was no way that Zhang Jing would be willing to watch someone bully his granddaughter-in-law.

A frown appeared on Zhang Jing's forehead at the thought that he will have to visit his brother-in-law frequently and spend his time with him. Since he had asked a favor from the Qi's family, it would be rude for him not to visit the old man.

However, Zhang Jing was still worried. "Capital City is not their territory. Will it not be a problem for them to step in and help?"

"Ming Wei had ȧssured me that it would not be a problem," Zhang Jing said. "The Qi's family has always wanted to expand their influence to Capital City. They are taking advantage of this situation as their excuse to do so. Of course, once they were able to eradicate gangs, they will be able to take over their power in Capital City."

Zhang Jing heaved with relief. 

"Grandfather, if you were uneasy about this matter, we can always offer our support to the Qi family using the resources that we have," Zhang Yu Han said. 

The Zhang family has always funded the Qi's whenever they need a source of money. 

"I know. You don't have to worry about it. I will deal with this part. You just have to look after Qin Yao well." Zhang Jing paused and looked at his grandson with a frown. "How was Qin Yao?"

Zhang Yu Han let out a soft sigh. "She's doing well. She was relieved that she will get to clear her name once Gu Jun Shan testifies for her."

"It's good that she was doing well," Zhang Jing nodded. "These few days, you don't have to work too late. Just go home early to accompany your wife. I'm sure that she must be anxious. She won't be at ease until she was able to clear everything with her grandfather."

"Grandfather, these things… I don't need you to remind me." 

Zhang Jing scoffed as he saw the displeased in his grandson's expression. A thought crossed his mind and Zhang Jing decided to mess around with his grandson. "That's right. When are you going to give me a great-grandchild for me to hold? Are you not working hard enough?"

Zhang Yu Han's face turned a few shades darker when his grandfather tried to poke fun at him. "Grandfather, we are newlyweds. I wanted to live with my wife just the two of us for a while longer. Besides, a child won't just appear when we want it. This kind of thing… it would be best if you don't say it to Qin Yao."

"I know. I was only playing around with you," Zhang Jing said. "Do you think I would dare to pressure my granddaughter-in-law at a time like this?"

Zhang Yu Han spends a few more minutes to chat with his grandfather before he left. Instead of going back to his office, Zhang Yu Han head straight to the elevator and left the building. 

Although his wife had told him that she was well enough to return to work, Zhang Yu Han was still worried. 

His second cousin, Qi Ming Wei had told him that it might take at least a couple of weeks the latest for them to get Guo Jun Shan's family to a safer place. 

Li Qin Yao would always be anxious waiting until that moment when this matter was resolved and Guo Jun Shan has clear up her name. Until she can be at ease again, Zhang Yu Han wanted to at least do something to distract her mind.

When Li Qin Yao looked up from her ŀȧptop, she could see a silhouette, standing at the door while hiding behind a bouquet of gerbera daisies. Seeing that none of her staff had tried to stop this guy, Li Qin Yao knew right away that it was none other than her husband. 

She stood up from her chair and smiled as she walked over to Where he stood. "Why are you here?"

"I came to check on you." Zhang Yu Han said. He handed over the bouquet and watched as she drew it closer to her nose and inhaled the fragrant smell. "Do you like it?"

Li Qin Yao nodded. A shy smile curved at her lips as she stood up tiptoed and kissed her husband on his cheek.

Suddenly, the office was booming with the sounds of cheering from her staff. Seeing the little intimacy between the couple, everyone was suddenly excited.

Li Qin Yao turned towards the source of that noise and laughed. Soon, she pulled her husband into her office and closed the door. "Zhang Yu Han, thank you."

Of course, she was not only thanking him for the flowers. It was not hard to decipher why her husband had come over to see her. After the weekend in H City, she had noticed the way he tried to cheer her up.

Zhang Yu Han patted her on her hair and followed her towards her desk. "You should go and finished your job first. I'll wait here. Then, maybe we can go back and have dinner with mom."

It was then that Li Qin Yao recalled that her mother had only returned from another outstation a few days ago. But because the two of them were visiting H Town at the weekend, she has not visited her mother yet.

"I have already given mom a phone call before I came here," Zhang Yu Han said. "She said she was going to cook a few of your favorite dishes."

A sense of warmth spread from her heart at the thought that her husband had sought her mother to help her divert her from thinking too much on Manager Guo and his family.
