Chapter 256 - Strange Setup

As soon as their flight arrived in Capital City that afternoon, the Zhang family immediately checked-in into the hotel. As the others went back to their room and rest, Zhang Yu Han was busy running around to meet with some people.

The first thing he did was to have a short meeting with his ȧssistant, Xiao Ye to give him a few instructions. Then, Zhang Yu Han took his ȧssistant to meet up with Qi Ming Wei to discuss the progress on their plan.

According to Qi Ming Wei, his team had successfully taken Guo Jun Shan's family member to a safer place. The family had a brief reunion before Qi Ming Wei took him away again.

If Guo Jun Shan changed his mind and decided to betray them, Qi Ming Wei and his men will not hesitate to harm his family. Hearing the threat, Guo Jun Shan choose to be obedient.

Anyway, he was sure that if he chose to side with Li Qin Yao, at least his life will be spared. 

The only reason Zhao Wei has not harmed his family was that she was afraid that he was going to show up with evidence against her dirty deeds. If Zhao Wei was the one who found him instead of Li Qin Yao, Manager Guo was confident that he might never see his family again before he died without a grave.

Within a week that Qi Ming Wei arrived in Capital City, there was a shift of power in the Capital.

The group was in a state of chaos after they had created a few troubles here and there. They lost sight of Guo's family members to deal with some bigger problem and soon a war broke out. Of course, this kind of thing was never reported in any news. Everything that Qi Ming Wei did was discreet.

Anyway, it was not very hard for the Qi to pull something like this. After all, they have been eyeing the power in Capital City for years.

It's just that... they finally find a reason to take control of the power in Capital City.

When Zhang Yu Han returned to his hotel room, his wife was on the phone as she browsed through the newspaper in her hand. Just a glance at her face, Zhang Yu Han could see that she was looking at the newspaper absentmindedly. Her attention was focused on the phone call.

Li Qin Yao raised her head when she heard the door swung open. Her lips tilted into a smile when she saw her husband. A few seconds later, Li Qin Yao hung up the phone call and walked over to Zhang Yu Han. She rubbed at his upper arms and tiptoed to kiss his cheek. "It's been hard on you."

Zhang Yu Han merely replied to her with a smile as he ruffled his wife's hair.

Li Qin Yao did not mind that he was making a mess of her hair. "Is everything alright?"

"Hmm," Zhang Yu Han nodded. "Qi Ming Wei said that everything on his part is all done. Everything shall depend on Guo Jun Shan's performance tonight."

Hearing his words, Li Qin Yao was both relieved and anxious. Relieved at knowing that everything was going on smoothly at their part, and anxious at how her grandfather was going to react. "Bei Ruo Xi said that my second aunt has been busy going in and out of the office."

"She was probably worried now that the people she hired no longer have time to entertain her," Zhang Yu Han said before he proceeded to tell her his conversation with Qi Ming Wei earlier.

Li Qin Yao heaved a sigh. When she thought that her second aunt had dared to hire and work along with a group of thugs, she did not know what to think. As her niece, she could not understand how her aunt could be so ruthless to harm her.

To help her son, Li Mu Bai to win the position as the President? 

Was it worth it? Even without her aunt's intervention, Li Mu Bai was someone who capable to win that position with his capabilities. Li Qin Yao had to admit that her cousin was a formidable rival. Back then, the two of them would compete to be the best and with that, the QL's Group made earned a lot.

When he saw the dazed expression on his wife's face, Zhang Yu Han lifted his hand and bopped at her nose. "What else are you thinking about?"

Li Qin Yao forced a smile. "I'm worried about how grandfather was going to react."

Zhang Yu Han pulled her into his embrace. He kissed her on top of her head and spoke, "It will be alright. These things… the injustice that you had to face for the last two years was something that your grandfather had to know about. It was not a matter that he should be kept in the dark about. And as the Chairman of QL Group, he cannot choose to turn away from this matter."

"I know." 

Zhang Yu Han finally pulled away after a while. He bent his body to look at his wife on the eye level and smiled. "Get ready. It's almost time."

Almost half an hour later, Li Qin Yao and Zhang Yu Han went to a meeting room where Assistant Ye had arranged for their meeting with her grandfather. When they arrived, everyone from Zhang's family was gathered in front of the entrance as if waiting for them. Seeing that everyone was presented, Li Qin Yao was speechless.

But, that was not wrong either. After all, they did invite her grandfather alone under the pretense to have dinner.

After greeting everyone, Li Qin Yao pushed at the door and entered the conference room.

Her grandfather, Li Ren Xin has arrived a few minutes earlier. At the sight of everyone, Li Ren Xin stood up from his seat and greeted Zhang Jing. Li Qin Yao introduced her parents-in-law and soon, everyone took their seat. 

Dinner was served right away. As if nothing wrong was going on, the group continue to eat merrily.

However, Li Ren Xin could not help but think that there was something strange about the setup. After all, he was invited to share a meal with Zhang, but it was strange how his wife was not invited. His granddaughter had instructed him to come alone.

Li Ren Xin sent a few curious glances at his granddaughter, but she did not leak any information to him. In the end, he had no other choice but to go along with the situation.

Their dinner ended without any mishap. Just as Li Ren Xin that dinner was over, the rest of the Zhang's family left, leaving him with his granddaughter alone.

"What's wrong?" Li Ren Xin asked. He tried to smile even though he was uneasy about the situation. "Yao Yao, why do I feel that you did not invite me to come here merely to have dinner with the Zhang?"

Li Qin Yao stared at her grandfather's face for a while before she spoke, "Grandfather, let's sit down first. There is something that I wanted to talk to you about."

Li Ren Xin followed as his granddaughter's instruction and sat down. A few seconds later, the door swung open again and a familiar face walked into the room.

Guo Jun Shan exchanged a look with Li Qin Yao before he bowed to Li Ren Xin. "Chairman Li. Hello. I'm not sure if you remember me, but let me introduce myself. My name is Guo Jun Shan."

Li Ren Xin frowned as the man stepped forward and placed a few documents on the table. After putting on his glasses, Li Ren Xin flipped the documents open to study its contents. A few minutes later, his expression changed. He then turned to his granddaughter with a disbelief look on his face.

Taking that as his cue, Guo Jun Shan started to speak.
