Chapter 267 - Vote Counts

Li Qin Yao arrived at the QL Group headquarters with her husband. Once she stepped into the building, the shareholders who were attending that meeting surrounded her the moment she stepped in.

Now that the truth was revealed, everyone wanted to apologize and wanted to get on her good side. It was expected that there was going to be a shift of power in the company.

If Li Qin Yao ended up as the President of QL Group, then wouldn't they have to curry their favor with her?

What if she makes things difficult for them one day? Previously, after Li Qin Yao had resigned from QL Group, didn't they bullied and make things for her as well? What if she sought revenge?

As fear crept into them, the shareholders hurriedly went to Li Qin Yao's side to please her. However, before they say their honey-coated words, someone had given them a threatening gaze, forcing the shareholders to step aside and make way for the couple to pass. 

Li Qin Yao glanced at her husband and tightened her grip on his upper arms as the two of them walked into the elevator. Because Zhang Yu Han's previous threat, none of the shareholders dared to enter the elevator with the couple. 

"Was that necessary?" Li Qin Yao asked as the door closed. 

Zhang Yu Han lowered his head and a playful smile curved on his lips. "I thought you were too tired after last night. Do you still have the energy to deal with unnecessary people?"

Her cheek blushed as she recalled how Zhang Yu Han had his revenge last night. For a moment, she had promised herself that she will never try to tease her husband again. However, Li Qin Yao knew very well that it was nothing but an empty promise.

The elevator dinged when it arrived at their floor. When the couple walked out, Li Ming Han has already waiting for them outside.

"Cousin Sister, Cousin-in-law, you guys are here," Li Ming Han greeted. He looked at Zhang Yu Han with his bright eyes and said, "I haven't thanked you for that box of pastries. Thank you."

Zhang Yu Han replied to him with a nod. Meanwhile, he was silently ȧssessing everyone around them. 

According to his investigation, Zhao Wei was someone who had a few loyal followers. Of course, Zhang Yu Han was afraid that someone might come forward to harm his wife. That was the reason why he wanted to come along with Li Qin Yao even though he knew that he will not be allowed to enter the shareholder meeting later.

"How was your plan?" Li Qin Yao asked her cousin. 

"You don't have to worry," Li Ming Han smiled. "I have talked to Grandfather. Although he had a few doubts regarding this plan, he did not reject it either. In the end, it will be up to both of us to convince others. I have talked to a few shareholders, and they have given their word that they will support this move."

Li Qin Yao nodded. 

Just then, the elevator behind them opened again. As the trio turned around, both Li Mu Bai and his sister stepped out of the elevator followed by their mother's supporters.

Li Mu Bai nodded to greet them, while Li Mu Chen threw a dirty look at Li Qin Yao

Once Zhang Yu Han the look on Li Mu Chen's face, he immediately shifted, blocking Li Mu Chen's view on his wife.

Li Mu Chen could only grit her teeth in anger. She had wanted to throw a few insults at Li Qin Yao, but it wouldn't be effective without looking at her cousin's face. 

Moreover, just as Zhang Yu Han moved to block her view, Li Mu Chen could feel her brother's grip on her arms. She knew that her brother was warning her to be on her best behavior and not to create any ruckus. 

There were a lot of shareholders in attendance and some reporters were waiting downstairs to get the first news on today's President's election.

In the end, Li Mu Chen could only swallow her anger.

Soon, two ladies in business suits walked over and opened the door to the meeting room. Soon, the shareholders entered the room one by one. 

Li Qin Yao turned to her husband and asked, "Are you alright to wait here alone. The meeting might take a while."

Zhang Yu Han chuckled when he saw her worried face. He bent down to kiss her temple and said, "I'm not a kid. I will be alright."

Li Qin Yao narrowed her eyes. Seeing that everyone else has entered the meeting room, Li Qin Yao then left her husband to wait for her in the lounge before she walked into the meeting room. She sat beside Li Ming Han and looked up only to see that Li Mu Chen was sitting across her.

Soon, Chairman Li entered the room. One of the ladies from earlier stepped at the small podium and acted as MC. After a small introduction, Li Ren Xin spoke a few words on QL Group's recent crisis and the reason why he had gathered everyone in the meeting room. 

The lady stood at the podium again with her friend acted as her ȧssistant. Soon, the vote count began and as the lady began to read the name on the paper, Li Qin Yao exchanged a look with Li Ming Han.

The first three names on the paper were Li Qin Yao's name.

Some of the shareholders began to shift uncomfortably in their seats.

When Li Mu Chen heard her cousin's name, she turned to Li Qin Yao and stared angrily at her. Li Mu Chen would not accept the result if Li Qin Yao would win the position. In her opinion, there were a few others who were qualified for the President's position.

However, after the tenth names, Li Mu Bai's face gradually changed along with a few others.

The MC picked up the last voting paper and showed it to everyone presented before she read it aloud. "The last vote goes to, Li Mu Bai. With the majority of the votes goes to Li Mu Bai, I hereby announce that Li Mu Bai is chosen as the President of QL Group. President Li Mu Bai, congratulations!"
