As the weekend came, Zhang Yu Han took his wife and drove over to City B in the afternoon to his mother-in-law's apartment. The two of them had lunch at Xu Yilan's place and spent a few hours lazying around.
Zhang Yu Han took another look at the picture of Li Qin Yao with Han Yue Xiu on her bookcase and started to tell her how he had watched her on the basketball court ten years ago.
Unfortunately, she had no recollection that the two of them had a brief eye contact after she had shot that three-pointer ball. Li Qin Yao still thought that it was unfair how he had a glimpse at her ten years ago, but she had no idea what did he looked like in his basketball jersey.
With that thought, Li Qin Yao made a reminder to herself to ask her mother-in-law to show her pictures of him when she visited Zhang's residence later.
"It's not fair," Li Qin Yao complained.
Zhang Yu Han was lying on the bed, with his head leaning on the headboard, while Li Qin Yao was lying in his embrace as the two of them were looking at some pictures of hers during her childhood.
Because it was a single bed, the two of them had no other choice but to stay together closely. Not that anyone of them was complaining.
"Why is it not fair?" Zhang Yu Han said lazily as he played with a few strands of her hair.
"Looking at the picture and seeing the person in real life are two different things," Li Qin Yao said.
Zhang Yu Han laughed. "Then, what can I do about it? Who asked you not to pay attention to your surrounding? You even dared to enter the basketball court when the officials were not around."
Li Qin Yao dismissed his words and turned her head to watch him for a long time, "I still wish that I would notice you back then."
In the end, Zhang Yu Han could only let out a helpless sigh.
After resting for a few hours, the couple left Xu Yilan's place and the three of them headed over to Y City.
Because they were afraid that the dinner and discussion might last longer, Xu Yilan was prepared with her overnight bag to stay in Y City for a night. Anyway, this way, her daughter and her in-laws' family would not be worried that she had to travel back at night.
Zhang Yu Han stopped his car at the entrance before he let the valet take over. He then took his wife's hand in his and led the two of them to the private room that his mother had booked a few days earlier.
When the three of them entered the room, Liu Hui Lan immediately stood up fro her seat to greet her in-law.
"Sister, finally we met," Liu Hui Lan said with a wide smile on her face.
Now that the matters were settled, they could finally meet and discuss the wedding with ease.
"Sister, I hope you're doing well," Xu Yilan said. She greeted Zhang Jing who she had previously met and was introduced to Zhang Xi.
Following Liu Hui Lan's lead, Xu Yilan sat down and the two began to chat as if they were long lost, friends.
As soon as the group was seated, the waiters came in to serve some food and drinks. The group continued to converse amiably and Xu Yilan took her time to get to know her in-laws well.
Seeing the way the family was treating her daughter well, Xu Yilan was relieved.
Li Qin Yao was not the only one who had some insecurities after breaking up with Chen Hao. Once Xu Yilan knew that Chen Hao's parents were looking down at her daughter because of her marital status, of course, Xu Yilan was worried as well.
Her daughter was already married to Zhang's family. Xu Yilan did not know what she would do if her in-laws did not like her daughter and treated her badly.
"The two of them did not even have an engagement ceremony and straightaway skip to register their marriage," Liu Hui Lan said. "For their wedding, of course, we have to make it a grand one. Sister, what do you say?"
"This," Xu Yilan glanced at her daughter. "Yao Yao is the only child I have. Of course, I would want her to have a big wedding as well. But regarding this matter, it is better to ask for the children's opinion. It is their wedding after all."
"Right," Liu Hui Lan followed Xu Yilan's gaze and turned to her daughter-in-law. "Qin Yao, what do you think?"
Li Qin Yao glanced at her husband and raised a brow as if asking for his opinion.
"I will follow you," Zhang Yu Han patted at his wife's hand.
He only wanted his wife to be happy. Who cares if it was a small or a big one?
"Then, I'll just follow to your suggestion," Li Qin Yao said to the two women.
Not long after, Liu Hui Lan took out a calendar and started to discuss the date. She pointed at a date and turned to her in-law. "Sister, what do you think about this date? I've checked. It is a very auspicious date for them to have a wedding."
"Isn't that too quick?" Xu Yilan watched with surprise on her face. "That is two months away. Will we have enough time to prepare?"
Li Qin Yao who has been listening to their conversation for a while froze. She too thought that two months were too quick. However, knowing that her parents-in-law might have to leave sooner for their work, Li Qin Yao knew that it was better for them to hold a wedding quickly.
"Regarding this, I have no opinion as well," Li Qin Yao said. "I will follow your arrangement."
"Sister, you don't have to worry too much regarding this," Liu Hui Lan said. "Since I'm pretty much free these days, you can let me handle the preparation." As soon as her words fell, Liu Hui Lan glanced at her daughter-in-law's stomach.
Although Zhang Yu Han had once mentioned that he wanted to spend his time with his wife with just the two of them a bit longer, Liu Hui Lan was still worried that a baby might show up soon.
If they delay the wedding for too long and soon, what are they going to do if Li Qin Yao's baby bump would start to show and she will no longer fit her wedding dress?
Of course, if Li Qin Yao had heard her mother-in-law's worried, she would laugh until she started to cry. After all, she had not chosen a wedding dress yet! Where did the dress she would no longer fit to wear suddenly come from?
