Chapter 282 - Auntie, Where Did You Come From?

Chen Hao might have learned his lesson when he was taken in the police station and warned his mother not to get close to his ex-girlfriend before she embarrassed herself, but it doesn't mean that his mother would listen to his words.

Upon hearing of what her son had said, Mother Chen was skeptical and so, she went around the hall to ask around about Li Qin Yao, before she found out that her son was telling her the truth.

Mother Chen looked at her husband who was mingling among the managers and then back at the front where his son's ex-girlfriend was chatting with the big bosses. Even with the Tang's family connection, socializing with the big bosses was something that they could not dream of.

At this time, Mother Chen began to realize the difference in their social status and suddenly, she was unhappy about it.

If her son was still with that girl, perhaps, she too would be able to socialize with the big bosses. Then, no one will look down on her and her family.

Of course, Tang Ai Ling noticed the look on Mother Chen's face and sneered secretly. 

If it was not for the Tang's family connection, there was no way that someone as the Chen family would be able to join in the banquet. Apparently, from the look of Mother Chen's face, it seemed as if she had forgotten the reason why she was able to join in the banquet in the first place.

At this thought, Tang Ai Ling pulled a pitiful expression as she tugged at Mother Chen's sleeve. "Mom, are you regretting that you had objected Chen Hao's relationship with his ex-girlfriend in the past?"

Mother Chen looked at Tang Ai Ling, feigning a surprise. "How can you say something like that. Of course, I was not regretting it." She pulled a smile and patted Tang Ai Ling on her hands. "Ai Ling, you must not forget that just because someone came from a prestigious family, it does not mean that they have a good upbringing. You've met Chen Hao's ex before and you must know that she had a bad temper."

Tang Ai Ling forced a smile when she heard Mother Chen's words. 

"Mom was just looking at that girl and wonder, which escort did she hire to accompany her," Mother Chen continued. "Ai Ling, you tell me, did you recognize that man?"

Tang Ai Ling followed Mother Chen's gaze and frowned. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw how that tall, handsome man was smiling to Li Qin Yao. However, no matter how much she looked at him, Tang Ai Ling was sure that she had never seen that man before. Even if he had good looks, then so what? He still has to rely on a woman to attend this banquet.

"Mom you're right. Perhaps she did hire some wild man to accompany her to a grand banquet like this," Tang Ai Ling said. "Fortunately Chen Hao broke up with her earlier. An immoral woman like her is unsuitable for him."

"The weather is getting colder, why are you wearing something so little?" Zhang Yu Han took off his jacket and placed it on her shoulder. 

Li Qin Yao looked at her husband with resentment. She went closer to him and whispered. "Zhang Yu Han, you did not complain that I was wearing too little last weekend."

A thought crossed his mind, and Zhang Yu Han had a roguish smile on his face. "That was different."

"How was that different?"

"Your body will naturally warm up when you're exercising. Therefore, you won't feel cold at all," Zhang Yu Han said. He lowered his head to her ear and continued. "Besides, I can always hug you to help you feel warmer."

"You rogue." Li Qin Yao pinched him at his waist and turned around to the buffet table. She picked up a clean plate and took some spring rolls. 

Meanwhile, Zhang Yu Han continued to stick close to his wife. 

Sensing that her husband was standing behind her, Li Qin Yao turned around and shoved her half bitten spring rolls to his mouth. "How was it? Good?"

Zhang Yu Han munched on his food and shrugged. "It is good. But my mom made better spring rolls."

Li Qin Yao laughed. "Speaking of your mom, she called me earlier and told me to come back to the residence to discuss some wedding plan. She found a few event planners that she liked and she wanted our opinion."

"Tell me when you can free your schedule. Let's go and choose a wedding dress for you," Zhang Yu Han spoke. At the thought of how his wife was going to look like in a wedding dress, Zhang Yu Han was suddenly anxious. He held her hand in his and whispered. "Qin Yao, I cannot wait to marry you in front of everyone else."

A red blush appeared on her cheek. After being married to this man for months, Li Qin Yao knew of his habit to show off that he was now a married man to his family and friends.

According to Zhang Yu Ying, because her brother has been single all his life, some of his friends would tease him. Now that he was married before them, of course, he wanted to take revenge.

At first, Li Qin Yao was shy whenever Zhang Yu Han would take initiative to introduce her as his wife even to people that they have just met. However, seeing the smile and that proud look on his face, Li Qin Yao was pleased. Moreover, now that she had found out that he had fallen for her at first sight, the feeling was different. 

The couple continued to tease and flirt with each other when they suddenly noticed a presence behind them.

"Oh, I thought you look familiar… turns out it was you, Miss Li."

Li Qin Yao turned around when she heard the voice. The smile on her face disappeared when she saw the woman she wish never to see again. It was then that she realized that she was blocking others from taking the food on the buffet table. Li Qin Yao stepped aside and was about to leave with her husband when Mother Chen stopped them. 

Mother Chen hesitated before she took a deep breath and thicken her skin to speak. "I heard from my son that you are a granddaughter of Chairman Li of QL Group. You… you have never mentioned this to us before." 

Li Qin Yao was amused when she realized what Mother Chen was trying to say. It seemed that both mother and son were similar to each other. "What difference does it makes whether I am Chairman Li's granddaughter or not?"

"Of course it will be different," Mother Chen forced a smile. 

Anyway, she has been trying to climb up the social ladder for too long. Of course, she knew that no matter what, she had to be thick skin to get what she wanted. 

"I wouldn't object to you and my son's relationship if you only told me these things," Mother Chen said. "Yao Yao, if you wanted to come back to Chen Hao, I would not object to your relationship anymore."

Li Qin Yao laughed. When did Chen Hao's mother ever call her 'Yao Yao' endearingly?

"No matter what, it would be better than going out with this escort," Mother Chen shot a displeased look at Zhang Yu Han. After she had heard Tang Ai Ling's words earlier and observed the couple for a while, Mother Chen was sure that this man was an escort.

"Sorry, Mrs. Chen, I am not interested in your son," Li Qin Yao said firmly. "Perhaps Chen Hao forgot to tell you this, but I am now a married woman." She leaned on her husband's arms and continued, "And this escort happens to be my husband."

Zhang Yu Han raised a brow as he turned to his wife.

Mother Chen's face paled. "You're married?"

Li Qin Yao smiled. "That's right. In a way, I should be thanking you for objecting to my relationship with your son. Or else, I will not be able to meet a great guy like my husband. However, Mrs. Chen, I hope you and the rest of your family will stop harassing me. Did Chen Hao not tell you why he landed himself in jail not too long ago?"

At this time, a staff of LUX Group jogged towards them. "Manager Li, Director Zhang," the staff bowed. "Chairman Deng was looking for you two."

Seeing that the two of them had left, Mother Chen pulled at the staff's sleeves with her eyes wide. "Just now… who did you call Director Zhang?"

The staff frowned. "Of course, I was calling Manager Li's husband."

"You know that man?"

The staff laughed. "Who in this room did not know that man? He is Director Zhang from Zhang Worldwide Group. Auntie, where did you come from? How come you did not know someone prominent as he?"

Mother Chen's face turned pale. It turned out that the girl's husband was someone from that Zhang family! And to think that she had called him an escort in his presence earlier!
