Chapter 307 - Past, Present, Future

The next morning, the couple left the house early in the morning to have their breakfast outside. As Zhang Yu Han had long known that his wife was a foodie, he had taken her around the city and indulged her on for her food hunting experience.

They visited a cafe that Zhang Yu Han had frequently visit whenever he was in town and then, walked around the city, visiting museums and such. The two of them walked around the port area and Li Qin Yao was excited to look at the expensive boats and yachts up close for the first time.

"I just noticed something," Li Qin Yao said as they continued to walk. She saw him raised a brow and continued, "Most of Zhang Group's international hotels are very close to the sea."

Zhang Yu Han let out a chuckle. "Hmm… Grandmother loved the sea. That was why Grandfather bought a few places besides the sea. Grandfather's hometown was somewhere near the beach. Back then, the first time where they met was near a beach."

Li Qin Yao ċȯċked her head sideways as her curiosity about Grandfather Zhang and his late wife's story was piqued. She then made a mental note to ask and find out about it through Zhang Jing someday.

As the two of them finally arrived at Zhang Yu Han's university area, Li Qin Yao began to look around and thought that the university in other countries was definitely different.

"I wonder how you looked like when you were walking around this place years ago," Li Qin Yao said. She took a few steps back, stared at her husband, and began to picture at how he looked like a few years ago.

"Didn't you already saw a few pictures in my room last night?"

Li Qin Yao giggled. "Un… I think your hair was a bit long years ago."

"Really?" Zhang Yu Han raised a brow. "I did not notice that." He walked over to her and played with a few strands of her hair. "Ten years ago, when I saw you at that basketball court, your hair was also longer than this. I still remember how you had your hair tied into a ponytail."

"Ten years ago, huh… My hair probably reached my waist." The smile on her face faded a little bit. "Actually, I cut my hair very short after my dad passed away. It was after a few years that I let it grow this long." Li Qin Yao touched the end of her hair that reached past her shoulder.

Seeing the change in her expression, Zhang Yu Han wrapped his arms around her and kissed her temple. "You look nice whether with long hair or short hair."

It was then that Li Qin Yao began to notice that a few students were staring at them. Suddenly, she felt her face heating up and Li Qin Yao pulled at the ŀȧpel of his coat to bury her face in his ċhėst.

"Zhang Yu Han…"

"Hmm?"

She pulled away and stared at him for a long time. "Tell me… back then, you must have a lot of fans, right?" She had seen his picture in his room and knew he had his charms. Though she had found him a bit scary the first time she had seen him at the cafe, Li Qin Yao could not deny that her husband was very attractive.

"I don't know. Back then, I spent most of my time in lecture theaters and libraries. I didn't have time to look around and I didn't want to look around." A playful smile curled on his lips. He tugged at her hand and put his hands on her waist. "Someone had caught my eyes the moment she shot that three-pointers into the hoops and I can no longer look at other girls."

Li Qin Yao wrinkled her nose as she hit him lightly on his arms. "You sweet talker."

Zhang Yu Han laughed at her reaction. He grabbed her hand again and led her around the campus.

Just as they reached the basketball court area, Zhang Yu Han heard a familiar voice shouting his name. He turned around and frowned when he saw a familiar woman walking towards him.

"Brother Yu Han. It's really you!" Her smile widened when she saw him turning around.

Li Qin Yao stared at the woman in a white coat and high heel boot and turned to look at her husband with a questioning gaze. She inched closer to him and whispered, "Didn't you say that you did not have another sister other than Yu Ying?"

Sensing his wife's gaze, Zhang Yu Han quickly knew that he would be in deep trouble if he did not explain himself. "It wasn't what you think."

The woman reached their side and stared at Li Qin Yao in puzzled. Seconds later, her expression changed again and there was a big smile on her face. "Eh? Brother Yu Han… I heard that you are married. So, is this your wife?"

"Hmm…" Zhang Yu Han nodded. He looked at his wife and introduced the two of them. "This is my wife, Li Qin Yao. Wife, this is Lu An Ran, Lu Xun's younger sister."

"Hello! Hello!" The woman greeted enthusiastically. "Hey, it was unexpected to see you here. My brother did not tell us that you would be coming back this year."

"I did not mention anything to him."

Lu An Ran stared at the couple and smiled. "How long will you stay in Country C this time? How about hanging out together for Christmas? My brother is in the city as well."

"Sorry, but we already have plans." Zhang Yu Han said. "Are you here to pick up Professor Jia?"

Lu An Ran snorted. "He was supposed to be on break, but look at him. He still chose to stay on campus to do his research instead of accompanying me and his son at home. Brother Yu Han, you tell me. Do you think I made the wrong decision when I said yes to his marriage proposal years ago?"

Li Qin Yao blinked as she continued to listen to the two's conversation. Through Lu An Ran's ranting, Li Qin Yao guessed that Lu An Ran was married to a Professor in the university and they had a child together.

After they parted, Zhang Yu Han stared at his wife and smiled. "Lu An Ran only thought of me as a friend of her brother."

"You don't need to explain this to me."

"Are you... angry?"

"I'm not angry," Li Qin Yao lowered her head and went closer to him so that the two of them were standing toes to toes. "But I won't deny that maybe I was envious."

Zhang Yu Han raised a brow and bit back his smile.

She stared at him for a long time as if studying something that she could not understand. "Now that I'm married to you, I think I am becoming someone possessive. Suddenly, I have this thought that I wanted to always be around you whether in your past, your present of your future."
