Chapter 316 - His Grandson's Threat

After she was married to Zhang Yu Han, it has become a habit for them to gather with Grandfather once a month and had dinner together. Ever since the two had returned from their honeymoon, this would be the first time that the four of them would have dinner together.

Once Zhang Yu Han parked his Cayenne at the parking lot, he helped his wife to get off the vehicle and the two walked together to meet Zhang Jing and Zhang Yu Ying at the restaurant entrance.

When Li Qin Yao saw Zhang Jing, she immediately released her hand around her husband's arms and went towards the elderly man. "Grandfather," Li Qin Yao greeted her with a sweet voice as she held on the elder man's upper arms. "I haven't seen you in a while. Did you miss me?"

Seeing this situation, Zhang Yu Han's expression turned darker.

As if noticing that something was not right, Zhang Jing turned around and saw the expression on his grandson's face. A pride smile curled on his lips as he patted on Li Qin Yao's hand as if to add oil into his grandson's fire.

"Qin Yao, you are too busy recently that you did not have enough time to accompany Grandfather," Zhang Jing said with a sigh. "Don't always keep yourself busy. You need to take care of yourself more."

Li Qin Yao giggled. "Grandfather, you did not forget that you have invested in my project, right? Of course, I have to keep busy and help you to make more money."

Zhang Jing smiled. "It's fine. That was only Yu Han's money. Even if you don't work so hard, Grandfather can always support and raise you."

It was then that Zhang Yu Han noticed that his sister's focus was on the phone and that his wife was ȧssisting his grandfather as they climbed up the small steps at the entrance to the restaurant.

Li Qin Yao had noticed this problem and quickly went beside him to ȧssist him.

Zhang Yu Han's let out a helpless sigh. His gaze turned warmer and his irritation quickly disappeared. Turning to his sister, Zhang Yu Han then tugged on her sleeve before he walked closely behind his grandfather to guard the two of them if they accidentally misstep.

A waiter greeted them at the entrance and led them to the private room that they had booked earlier.

As they sit down around the table, Zhang Yu Ying began to notice the set of keys that Li Qin Yao placed on the table as she was searching for something in her bag.

"Sister-in-law, what is that?" Zhang Yu Ying reached across the table and lift the keys. A smile curved on her lips as she stared at the keychain attached with the keys. "I did not know that you like something like this."

Seeing that her sister-in-law was staring at the lucky cat charm, Li Qin Yao glanced at her husband and watch as his expression turned dark. "Don't you think it's cute?" she asked Zhang Yu Ying while observing her husband.

He then looked back at her with a warning gaze not to mention anything about that night's incident.

Zhang Yu Ying nodded. "It is cute!" She then shook the keychain, and the small bell attached to it produced a soft, ringing sound.

"It's my good luck charm," Li Qin Yao said when Zhang Yu Ying returned the keys to her.

Although Li Qin Yao knew that her husband was embarrassed that she had made him meowed once, and looking at the charm would remind him of that night, she had insisted to keep it with her. Zhang Yu Han had no other choice but to let her do what she liked.

Who told him to dote on his wife so much?

"Why do I feel like there is some secret going on between you two?" Zhang Yu Ying asked upon noticing the way her brother and sister-in-law were looking at each other as if they were having a telepathy conversation.

Her brother's expression was so dark, and her sister-in-law was so bright. Li Qin Yao was staring at Zhang Yu Han until he heaved a sigh as if he was relenting at something, It was an interesting sight and Zhang Yu Ying was curious to know about this exchange.

"What do you know," Zhang Jing scoffed at his granddaughter. "That is a matter between a couple. How about you go and find yourself a boyfriend. Then, maybe you would understand."

"Grandfather, don't you think I am still too young to have a boyfriend?" Zhang Yu Ying asked. "What if I no longer have time to accompany you later?"

"Do you think you always spent your free time with me? You would always disappear to meet up with your friends." Zhang Jing started to complain. "Are you that unpopular among your friends and your social circle? Should I help you to find someone?"

"Who said I was not popular? I am very popular, alright? Or else, why would my friends always asked me out?"

Zhang Jing scoffed at his granddaughter's answer.

"Grandfather, don't be angry," Zhang Yu Ying latched her hand around Zhang Jing's upper arms and acting coquettish with her grandfather. "I still want to live and be filial to you for a few more years."

Towards his granddaughter's coquettish act, Zhang Jing could only sigh helplessly.

Soon, the food was brought in and Zhang Jing's eyes began to glint with happiness upon seeing the meat dishes that he had not tasted for the past two weeks. Following his plan, Zhang Jing sneaked to take a few more bites at his favorite dishes while his grandson was paying attention to his wife.

Of course, when Zhang Yu Ying saw this, she had wanted to say something but stopped after her grandfather sent him a warning gaze.

Meanwhile, Zhang Yu Han began to notice that his wife has been eating more vegetable dishes instead of the meat dishes that he had picked for her.

"Are you not going to eat that?" Zhang Yu Han asked as he pointed to the marinated ribs.

Li Qin Yao paused as she stared at the glistering, succulent ribs. Then she looked at her husband and shook her head. "It's fine. I'll just accompany Grandfather to eat more vegetables."

Hearing her words, Zhang Jing's hand that was about to pick up another piece of meat suddenly stopped.

"Right, grandfather, you should eat more vegetables," Zhang Yu Han reminded him. "Let's not forget that you have an appointment with the doctor this week. If your result is not satisfying, your diet will continue for another month."

His grandson's threat was making him depressed. Zhang Jing could only stare back at the meat dishes with longing.

"Grandfather, you have a checkup this week?" Li Qin Yao asked. "Do you want me to accompany you?"
