Chapter 327 - Baby Scan

"Qi Zheng don't bully my husband too much," Li Qin Yao spoke as she came out from the attached room. She was coming out of the room when she happened to hear Qi Zhen teasing her husband with that cream. 

When Zhang Yu Han looked at his wife, he could see how her smile had reached her eyes and knew that she found it entertaining at how he was teased by Qi Zheng. He let out a helpless sigh and walked over to his wife. "How was it?"

"It was alright," Li Qin Yao spoke in a low voice that only the two of them can hear. "I just gave them a few samples. It will be a while before the result come out. Doctor Qiao asked me to stay and wait for a while."

Zhang Yu Han nodded and led his wife towards the sofa. 

Looking at the couple sitting side by side, Qi Zheng began to sit up straight and stopped teasing his friend. His seating pose was suddenly proper and professional looking.

After a few minutes of waiting, Doctor Qiao and a nurse came out from the room and waved her hand to Li Qin Yao to come closer. Li Qin Yao was asked to lay down on the bed and Doctor Qiao then pulled up the curtains.

Zhang Yu Han stood at the side as he watched how her blouse was lifted to show her stomach and the nurse began to spread some gel. Soon, the doctor took operated a machine and explained to them what she was going to do.

The room was quiet for a few seconds as the couple was getting anxious at what they were going to see. Earlier, Doctor Qiao had mentioned that if they were lucky, they might be able to see something from the baby scan.

A black and white image began to show on the screen. Although Zhang Yu Han did not know what he was looking at, he was suddenly excited. Subconsciously, the hand that was holding his wife tightened.

"Oh," Doctor Qiao suddenly exclaimed, causing the couple to be more anxious. "Look at that," she then raised her hand to point at something on the screen and explained that the strange-looking thing was their baby.

As Doctor Qiao continued to explain to them the baby's development, Zhang Yu Han was unable to hear anything that the doctor was saying. His gaze focused on the screen and suddenly, he was overwhelmed with happiness. It was an incredible feeling to know that the strange thing that kept appearing and disappearing on the screen was his and Li Qin Yao's baby.

After the procedure ended, Zhang Yu Han walked out with a slightly dazed look on his face.

Qi Zheng, who was waiting for them on the sofa, stood up and walked over to his friend. "What's the matter? Are you feeling faint?"

Hearing his words, Zhang Yu Han sent Qi Zheng a warning gaze. 

"Was it exciting?"

Zhang Yu Han's expression changed again. The sharp look on his face was replaced with something more tender at the thought of the image he had seen earlier.

At this time, both Li Qin Yao and Doctor Qiao walked out of the room. Zhang Yu Han went over to his wife and they both sit around the doctor's table to wait for what the doctor was going to announce.

Doctor Qiao picked up the papers that the nurse had left on her table and began to analyze the data. She then looked back at the couple and smiled. "You two can relax. Everything is normal with the mother and the baby."

"Doctor, is there anything that we should be paying attention to?" Zhang Yu Han asked.

Doctor Qiao then began to list what kind of food and supplement that Li Qin Yao should be taking and advised her to do some light exercise such as walking. "I will give you a list later."

Once they left the hospital, Li Qin Yao decided to accompany Zhang Yu Han at his office instead of going back to stay at home. Anyway, she thought that staying at home alone was too boring. At least, if she went over to the hotel, she can still disturb her husband and ask him to chat with her.

Seeing that the husband and wife walked into the hotel building together, the staff started to whisper among themselves. They have been observing the couple from earlier on and somehow noticed that the air around the couple was slightly different this time. However, none of them could pinpoint exactly what was the difference.

Secretary Tian stood up abruptly when the couple appeared. She briefed Zhang Yu Han at his schedule and the documents that he needed to look at by today and turned to Li Qin Yao with a smile. 

As Zhang Yu Han made a turn to enter his office, Secretary Tian then called out Li Qin Yao.

Knowing that Secretary Tian had something to say to his wife, Zhang Yu Han glanced at his secretary and nodded to his wife before he entered his room.

"Mrs. Zhang, why do I feel as if you look much prettier these days? Did you start using new products on your skin?" 

Li Qin Yao touched her face and smiled. "I did not do anything. Perhaps it was just your imagination."

Secretary Tian gave a look over and thought that she was not imagining things. She looked at the Director's room and noticed that the door was now closed. "I have something to ask you."

Seeing the secretive look on Secretary Tian's face, Li Qin Yao went closer. "What is it?"

Secretary Tian hesitated before she asked, "I'm not sure if it was appropriate to ask this, but is Director Zhang is facing any difficulties recently?"

Li Qin Yao tilted her head sideways. "Huh? I don't think so." At the thought of something was wrong with her husband, Li Qin Yao began to worry. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"Mrs. Zhang, don't worry too much. It was probably nothing, but recently, I have been hearing from others that Director's Zhang was having mood swings," Secretary Tian spoke in a whispering voice. "One time he was talking happily with Manager Chu, and suddenly he was scolding him about some unrelated stuff. I was around to witness this, and thought that this was not something that Director Zhang would usually do."

Li Qin Yao pondered for a while as she continued to listen to what Secretary Tian listing out the strange thing that her husband did. A thought crossed her mind and suddenly, her lips curled into a wide smile. 

"Secretary Tian, you don't have to worry too much. I'll talk to him," Li Qin Yao said. She then stared at the secretary for a while longer and continued, "Perhaps, you will have to bear with his strange temper for a few more weeks. He will stop acting so strange after a while," she paused. "Hopefully."
