Zhang Yu Han lifted his head when someone pushed the door from the outside. Once his wife's face appeared at the door, his lips instinctively broke into a smile. He put down the pen in his hand and leaned on his swiveling chair. "What did you two talk about?"
Li Qin Yao replied to him with a giggle. She walked over to his table and hugged him from behind. "Nothing much. Just catching up with a few things."
Of course, she was not going to ask her husband whether he was having mood swings. She knew that he had his pride and would not admit to it anyway. At the thought that Zhang Yu Han had to undergo some morning sickness symptoms for her, Li Qin Yao was suddenly distressed.
She leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek and spoke, "Mr. Zhang, are you very busy right now?"
"What do you want to do?" He raised a brow.
Li Qin Yao turned his chair until he was facing her. "I'm hungry," she said, with a slight pout. "Let's have lunch now, alright?"
A chuckle escaped him. Zhang Yu Han stood up and walked over to the coffee table where he had placed the thermos and a few food containers that Auntie Su had prepared for them early that morning.
The couple sat side by side as they ate. A frown appeared on Li Qin Yao's face as she tasted the tasteless chicken soup. She was getting used to eating food with less oil, salt, and sugar, but right now, Li Qin Yao suddenly had this craving to eat something sour.
She then turned at her husband and batted her eyelashes at him. "Hubby, I wanted to eat something sour."
Zhang Yu Han stared at her with a playful gaze. "You want to eat my vinegar?"
Instantly, Li Qin Yao's expression changed. "You dare?"
Seeing the frightening look on his wife's face, Zhang Yu Han knew that he should not joke with her regarding this matter. Quickly, he extended his hand to hug her. "Alright. I'm joking. Wife, please don't get angry."
Li Qin Yao turned her head when he tried to kiss her. "I don't like this kind of joke."
Zhang Yu Han's panic intensified and his embrace around her body tightened. "Alright. I will never make this kind of joke again. I'm sorry."
After staying in his embrace for a while, her anger gradually disappeared. Li Qin Yao leaned on her husband's ċhėst for a while, before she lifted her head again. "I want to eat yogurt and mango."
Anyway, at this time, her craving for those foods overshadowed her anger at her husband's joke. Li Qin Yao thought that if Zhang Yu Han did not entertain her craving at this time, she was going to cry.
"Alright. I'll ask Secretary Tian to get some for you," Zhang Yu Han spoke quickly. He then reached for his phone and sent a few instructions to his secretary. At this time, Zhang Yu Han knew that he needed to act quickly before his wife got upset again.
Secretary Tian, who had worked under Zhang Yu Han for years immediately sensed that something was not right in his tone when he gave her the instruction to get some yogurt and mango. Afraid that she was going to face his mood swings, Secretary Tian quickly get off her chair and went to find what her boss had requested.
Fortunately, there was a convenient store at the Ground Floor where Secretary Tian got the yogurt, and she then went to the kitchen to request some mango from the pastry kitchen. Less than ten minutes later, two cups of yogurt and a bowl of cubed mango.
Zhang Yu Han glanced at the item that he had requested and sent Secretary Tian out. He then raised the yogurt and handed it over to his wife. "Didn't you say you wanted to eat yogurt?"
Cautiously, Zhang Yu Han took off the lid and began to feed his wife. A sigh of relief escaped him as he watched that she was consuming the yogurt happily. When he saw the smile on her face, Zhang Yu Han wondered if the child would share the mother's love for eating good food.
After a while, Zhang Yu Han lifted his head to check on his wife and found that she was sleeping on the sofa in a fetal position. He turned up the temperature in the room and grabbed a blanket to cover her body.
Instead of going back to his table to continue his work, Zhang Yu Han stood silently at the side to watch his wife's sleeping face. Thinking that he was not close enough, Zhang Yu Han crouched beside the sofa and continued to watch her. Seeing the way she was breathing steadily, Zhang Yu Han then started to trail his finger along her face.
Suddenly, he stood up and lay down beside her. The sofa was wide, but not wide enough for them to lay beside each other. Therefore, Zhang Yu Han raised her head and placed it on top of his right arm. He then pulled her body close to him and kissed her lips. It was only when she was protesting in her sleep that he finally let her go.
Thinking that she might stir up from her sleep, Zhang Yu Han began to pat her gently as if coaxing her back to sleep.
When Secretary Tian knocked softly on the door and entered the Director's room, she was surprised upon seeing the couple sleeping side by side on the sofa. Quickly, she shut the door silently and stayed at her desk to guard the couple outside.
…
Li Qin Yao woke up from her nap and was surprised to see her husband's face so close to her. It took her a minute to figure out that they were in his office and she had fallen asleep after reading some emails from the constructor.
The corner of her lips tilted into a smile as she continued to watch him. Because he was hugging her body tightly, Li Qin Yao find that it was hard for her to move around. However, she had recently noticed that her husband was too busy with his work and worried about her pregnancy that he has not been getting enough sleep.
Seeing the slight dark ring below his eyes, Li Qin Yao thought that it was better to let him sleep longer. Having nothing else to do, Li Qin Yao could only watch his face as he slept.
"Did you have fun looking at me?"
Li Qin Yao gasped when she heard his deep voice.
Seconds later, his eyes shot open and the two of them stared at each other silently.
"When did you wake up?" Li Qin Yao asked.
"For a while. Your gaze was so intense that it woke me up."
A giggle escaped her and Li Qin Yao gave a playful pinch at his waist. After staring at him for a long time, Li Qin Yao shifted her body closer to kiss his lips. The kiss that began as a soft peck suddenly turned intense as Zhang Yu Han laced his hand into her hair to keep her in place.
After a while, the two of them pulled away, trying their best to catch up with their breath.
Li Qin Yao began to notice that something does not feel right when her husband tightened his embrace around her body. Every time she tried to struggle out, his embrace will only get tighter.
"Qin Yao, stop moving around," Zhang Yu Han said and kissed her forehead.
Li Qin Yao immediately understood his meaning and stayed quietly in his embrace.
"Three more weeks," he spoke with a sigh. He stared at her face and rained his kisses on her face again. "Qin Yao, I really miss you."
Hearing his words, Li Qin Yao leaned on his ċhėst to hear his heartbeat. The truth was that she too was missing him and their intimacy.
