Chapter 351 - Damn Pregnancy Hormones!

When both of them left the room, Xu Yilan was no longer in the house. She had left some breakfast on the table, and a note saying that she had gone to her office. 

As Li Qin Yao stared at the note, she was suddenly embarrassed.

When she had come over to her mother's place yesterday, she was too upset with her husband that her brain was not able to think straight. She knew that her pregnancy hormones were turning her silly and were embarrassed as she recalled telling her mother that her husband had bullied her. However, she did not tell her mother that she was upset that Zhang Yu Han did not allow her to eat some cake.

"What are you thinking about?" Zhang Yu Han asked when he reappeared from the kitchen with a glass of milk. Because his shirt was wet with her tears and snot, Zhang Yu Han had changed his shirt. Fortunately, he had left a few shirts in her room previously.

Li Qin Yao stared at her husband. "Did my mom call you?"

With a bodyguard following her around, Li Qin Yao was sure that Zhang Yu Han will be able to find her through Nian Ting when he realized that she had not returned to their apartment. However, at this time, Li Qin Yao was sure that it was her mother who had called her husband.

"Hmm," Zhang Yu Han nodded. He pulled a chair and took a seat beside her. "Mom called and asked whether we fought." A smile curled on his lips when he saw her lowering her head. "I was scared that mom was going to scold me."

Li Qin Yao tilted her head to meet his gaze. "Hubby, I have wronged you."

Zhang Yu Han let out a chuckle and pushed the glass of milk in front of her.

Li Qin Yao took a sip from her drink and stared at her husband's face. A frown appeared on her face upon noticing his reddened eyes and the black shades under his eyes. Her hand stretched to touch his face. "You did not sleep last night?"

"I was waiting for you to wake up." He tilted his head sideways and continued. "What if my wife ran away somewhere again when I was not looking? I did not want you to be upset with me for too long."

His answer made her heart consumed with guilt and she started to scold herself for her unreasonable behavior. Suddenly, Li Qin Yao felt a sting in her eyes and nose.

Damn pregnancy hormones! 

Why does she always feel like crying these days?

But at least it was not as laughable as the last time she had cried because she could not bend down to reach her feet to wear a sock. It was too silly that she had not mentioned this incident to anyone.

Li Qin Yao grabbed a spoon and started to eat her breakfast lest she started to cry again.

"Let's not go to the office today," Zhang Yu Han spoke after a while. "Anyway, you are not in the state to show up in the office like this." His finger touched the spot under her eyes. It was slightly swollen because she had cried too much.

Li Qin Yao flinched as she recalled seeing her face earlier. Her eyes and face were swollen and she was surprised how much her face had turned ugly. As she stared back into the mirror, Li Qin Yao had the urge to cry again, but she can only convince herself not to or else, her face might swell even more. Various thoughts went through her mind and one of them was asking why her husband was willing to marry someone as ugly as her.

Fortunately, Zhang Yu Han had appeared in the bathroom and she had stopped thinking about some weird stuff. He had thought that she was taking too long in the bathroom and was worried.

"En," Li Qin Yao nodded. "I will talk to Liang Sheng to send any important documents here. But what about you?"

"It's fine. I have taken a few days off to accompany you." He tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ears when she looked at him with surprise. 

"Why would you take a few days off?"

"Of course it was because I was worried about you." The smile on his face disappeared and his expression turned serious. He recalled that Doctor Qiao had voiced her worry that his wife's condition might develop into a pregnancy depression.

"Anyway, Grandfather told me that I should not return to the office until I can convince my wife to come back with me."

Her face turned red with embarrassment at the thought that Grandfather knew that she was upset with Zhang Yu Han because of a silly reason. Both Grandfather and her sister-in-law were around during the meal and they had seen how she was upset with her husband.

Zhang Yu Han let out a small chuckle upon seeing her expression. "Yesterday, Grandfather gave me a scolding." 

"Ah? Grandfather scolded you?"

"Hmm," Zhang Yu Han nodded. "He said I was too strict with you. Anyway, he said I was not allowed to bully his favorite granddaughter-in-law. Or else, he will send me to look after our hotel branch."

Li Qin Yao let laughed. She then latched at his arms like a Koala as if afraid that he was going to be sent away from her. 

The two of them continued to have their breakfast together before Li Qin Yao pushed Zhang Yu Han back into her room and forced him to sleep. 

Looking at his tired face, Li Qin Yao was distressed. Because of her, Zhang Yu Han did not get to sleep properly. He was worried over her and had stayed up to watch her sleeping figure.

Li Qin Yao rested her body on the headboard and played with his hair in her attempt to coax him to sleep. However, the person beside her had his eyes wide open and he was staring at her instead of sleeping.

"Why are you not asleep?" Li Qin Yao asked with a hint of laughter in her voice. "Are you not tired?"

"I am looking at my wife. How can I be tired?"

His words brought a smile to her face and her heart swelled with happiness. "Then, I will also look at you."

The two of them stared into each other's eyes for a long time before Li Qin Yao rested her hand on his cheek. Then, she leaned forward to kiss his lips.

The soft kiss soon turned deep and heavy. The couple then rolled on the sheet and soon fell asleep in each other's embrace.
