Chapter 376 - The Matter is Under Investigation

Li Mu Chen's eyes flashed upon hearing what the other person on the line had said. She quickly hung up the phone and quickly surfed the internet.

Once she found the news she was looking for, Li Mu Chen read the report with focus. Slowly, a smile curled on her lips. As she reached the end of the report, she began to laugh.

The news of the collapsing building in B City was the best news she had read! She had been waiting to read the news for weeks and finally, it was happening!

Initially, Li Mu Chen had wanted to take a few photos with Liang Sheng and blackmailed that man to hurt her cousin. Who would have thought that she would found some important documents while kidnapping the bespectacled man? Once she saw the documents, Li Mu Chen immediately thought of her mother and knew that this was the best way to strike.

The project in B City was very important to Li Qin Yao. Since it was important to her, Li Mu Chen was very happy to destroy it. She wanted to see whether her cousin could still stand up proudly when she saw that the project under her had a massive accident like this for the second time.

Once the shareholders and everyone see this news and knew that Li Qin Yao was responsible, there was no way that they would trust her again. No matter if she managed to clear up her name or not.

As the thought crossed her mind, Li Mu Chen began to laugh until her tears came out. Soon, Li Mu Chen heard a commotion from the outside. She composed herself and immediately went outside. As she looked down from the second floor, Li Mu Chen could see her grandfather and brother was discussing something with her grandmother.

Judging from the anxious look on their face, it was not hard for her to know that they were discussing the accident in B City. Because of the accident, both her grandfather and brother will have to travel to B City to look at the site.

A smile curled on her lips. How she wished that she could come along and watch the look on Yao Yao's face for herself!

Li Qin Yao opened her eyes, saw the white ceiling, and immediately knew that she was in the hospital. Instead of moving, Li Qin Yao continued to stare at the ceiling. Her mind whirled and she could not stop thinking about the scene she had seen just before she passed out.

The deafening sounds of sirens were everywhere. People were shouting as they tried to remove the rubble to look for survivors and there was blood everywhere.

As she recalled the scene, Li Qin Yao felt something heavy weighting on her ċhėst and soon, a whimper escaped her. Li Qin Yao brought a hand to cover her mouth and hoped that no one would notice that she had regained her consciousness. 

However, at this time, a warm embrace surrounded her body. She did not have to look up to know that she was in her husband's embrace. She could recognize his scent and strong arms anytime. At this time, Zhang Yu Han continued to whisper some words and kissing her face to calm her down.

It took her a long time before she could pull herself together. Her sobs gradually stopped as her husband's shirt was wet with her tears. She raised her head slowly and saw the tired look on Zhang Yu Han's face. It was not hard to know that after she had fainted from anxiety, he had stayed beside her while commanding the situation to keep things in control.

"Are you alright?" 

Li Qin Yao gave him a quiet nod. Seconds later, a glass of water materialized just beside her lips.

"Drink," Zhang Yu Han said. "You must be thirsty."

Li Qin Yao took a few sips to moistened her throat and looked out the window to see that the sky had turned dark. "What time is it."

"Nine. You have been sleeping for a long time," Zhang Yu Han spoke.

A frown appeared on his face as Zhang Yu Han recalled how his wife had fainted in his arms. His heart almost stopped beating with worry. He knew that something similar had happened to his wife in the past. It took her a long time to forget the incident and recover. 

Now that she had taken another project, another accident happened. Zhang Yu Han could imagine what was in his wife's mind right now and worried that she would be suffering from it.

Li Qin Yao sat up straight as she recalled something important. "Li Xue?"

"Don't worry. Your mom and Yu Ying are looking after her. Li Xue has been very obedient."

Hearing that her mother was looking after her daughter, Li Qin Yao heaved a sigh of relief. Previously, when she was still in confinement, it was her mother who had spent most of her time looking after the little princess and Li Xue liked her grandmother very much.

Li Qin Yao leaned her head on Zhang Yu Han's ċhėst and wrapped her arms around his waist. Feeling his warm body and listening to his heartbeat gradually made her relaxed.

"Zhang Yu Han, what happened? How did—"

"Don't think about this matter first," Zhang Yu Han spoke. "The matter is under investigation. I have asked Qi Ming Wei to look into the accident as well. The result will come out after a while. We will know the cause of this accident soon."

"Did anyone... died?" Li Qin Yao was reminded of the casualties during the last accident in Capital City and was worried.

"No." Zhang Yu Han ċȧrėssed her face softly. "There are a few injuries but no fatalities. Fortunately, the accident happened before they started to work. Therefore, there were not a lot of people involved. Qin Yao, you don't have to worry. I have instructed others to look after the injured and they will be given the best treatment and compensation." 

Li Qin Yao nodded. Fortunately, there were no fatalities this time. Li Qin Yao would not know what she would do if she had caused people to lose their life again.

"For now, all you have to do is rest and brace yourself for whatever will come. Don't worry. This time, I will be with you," Zhang Yu Han pressed his lips on her temple. "I will not let anything happened to you."

"I know." Li Qin Yao shut her eyes tightly as she tried to gather her courage. She took a deep breath to inhale his scent and spoke again, "Zhang Yu Han, I want to return home."

There was a brief silence before Zhang Yu Han replied, "Alright."
