Chapter 382 - Li Mu Chen was Determined Not to Confess

"Brother, what are you talking about? How can I do anything to harm you and Grandpa? You know very well that I love Grandpa the most!" Li Mu Chen shouted and the policemen gave her the warning to keep her voice low. 

"So you admitted that you forged the paperwork to frame Yao Yao?"

Hearing her name, Li Mu Chen's blood started to boil. "Don't twist my words! I did not do anything!"

"When Yao Yao accepted Grandfather's proposal to work on the project in B City, the three of us made an agreement so that an incident like the past would not happen," Li Mu Bai said. "Only a few people knew about this arrangement. Without approval from me and Grandfather, any important paperwork for the project in B City would be invalid. It would need at least mine or Grandfather's signature for the paperwork to pass."

Li Mu Chen felt something stuck on her throat. She knew nothing about this!

"The documents that they had sent to WS Group, I've seen it and I can tell that they are not the one that I have verified previously," Li Mu Bai continued. "But my signature was found on the new paperwork. This pointed out that I had approved the use of cheap materials. Don't you realize it? When you tried to frame Yao Yao, you were framing me and QL Group too. Do you want to see this company went down?"

"Why are you accusing me?" Li Mu Chen spat angrily. "Maybe it was Yao Yao who forged the documents!"

"Li Mu Chen, you are still trying to deny what you've done!" Li Mu Bai was seething. He stared at his sister for a long time and soon his gaze softened. "They already found the evidence that pointed to you. Those guys who were helping you to forge the documents were caught and had confessed everything. Mu Chen, why do you still want to deny this thing?"

Her eyes went wide as she thought of Shan Zi's men who had helped her to. They had promised her that they won't get caught.

"I know that you were not someone who would be able to do this thing. You weren't someone who would have the resource to do this," Li Mu Bai spoke. "Tell me, who was helping you? Then I can probably help and ask the lawyer to reduce your sentence."

Li Mu Chen opened her mouth to speak but suddenly realized that there were a few people who were watching her with an intense gaze. She had seen those men at Shan Zi's club before and knew that Shan Zi had sent those men to monitor her.

She had thought that since she was in the police station, those men would not dare to do anything to her. However, on second thought, Li Mu Chen realized that Shan Zi would be capable to do such a thing. If he can let those people monitor her here, what else he was not capable to do? 

Just at the thought that she was going to suffer under Shan Zi's hand made her shiver.

Previously, she had accidentally seen how Shan Zi had torture a man who had betrayed him. She can still see the blood all over the man's body every time she closed her eyes. She had nightmares for a few weeks after she witnessed the incident!

"I don't know what you're talking about." Li Mu Chen lowered her gaze. 

Li Mu Bai's stared at his sister with a disappointed gaze. Seeing that she had refused to talk or look at him, he then left the police station quietly.

Once Li Ren Xin returned to the Capital City, he immediately called out the shareholders for an urgent meeting to discuss the situation on QL Group.

Initially, the shareholders wanted to demand the Chairman to take Li Qin Yao off the project. They wanted the girl to receive a harsh punishment by sending her behind bars and never work for any project again. There are some of the shareholders who were previously Zhao Wei's supporters and had wanted to get back to Li Qin Yao now that they did not have much power after Zhao Wei was taken down.

However, no one had expected that they had made a new condition before Li Qin Yao agreed to be involved in the project. 

The shareholders were not stupid. Realizing what this situation would do to the company and their pocket, the shareholders decided to discard Li Mu Chen and agreed to whatever arrangement that Chairman Li had in mind.

As the meeting ended, Li Qin Yao walked over to her grandfather and supported the old man back to his office. 

Looking at her grandfather right now, Li Qin Yao thought that her grandfather had turned a few years older. His back hunched and he looked very tired. 

Li Qin Yao helped her grandfather to the sofa and helped to pour a glass of water for him. 

After taking a few gulps to moisten his throat, Li Ren Xin put the glass on the side table and watched his granddaughter with a complicated gaze. "Yao Yao, I don't hope that you can forgive me, but I still wanted to say I'm sorry for what happened."

Li Qin Yao flashed a smile that did not reach her eyes. "Grandpa, the thing you said in the board room earlier… have you really decided?"

Li Ren Xin closed his eyes and looked up again with a painful expression. "It was the only thing that I can do. From now on, I don't have a granddaughter named Li Mu Chen. Yao Yao, you don't have to worry about this. Your second uncle had agreed to this."

Hearing what her grandfather had said, Li Qin Yao lowered her gaze. 

The scandal this time had caused too much trouble than the previous one. No matter what, the company was something that Li Ren Xin had painstakingly build from his younger day. From nothing, QL Group was now one of the giant development company in Capital City.

Of course, to protect the company, Li Ren Xin was willing to do anything. 

Li Mu Chen might be his granddaughter, but he had other grandchildren as well. He could not protect Li Mu Chen and let this incident harm others. He had to think of the younger generation as well. This company was something that he wanted to leave for his future generation.

Therefore, Li Ren Xin decided to disown Li Mu Chen. From now on, the company will have nothing to do with Li Mu Chen and she was not allowed to receive anything from them.

After a brief chat with her grandfather, Li Qin Yao left the room to let him rest. Once she walked out, Li Qin Yao found Zhang Yu Han waiting for her.

"I just talked to Qi Ming Wei," he said. "It seemed that Li Mu Chen was determined not to confess despite the evidence."

A long sigh escaped her. Li Qin Yao held her husband's hand and soon spoke, "Zhang Yu Han, I wanted to talk to her."
