Chapter 393 - A Good Place to Start Investigation

Once the couple went back to the hotel, Zhang Yu Han sent his wife back to their suite before he went to his office giving her an excuse that he had some work matter to look at.

Once he was alone in his office, Zhang Yu Han slumped into his chair and took out his phone to dialed Qi Ming Wei's number.

It did not take too long before the phone call was connected. 

"I heard that Li Mu Chen frequently visited a club in Gold Street," Zhang Yu Han said. "According to his brother, his sister visited that club ever since her mother was put into prison. If it was true that Li Mu Chen had contacted someone to help her, she might have met someone at this club. This would be a good place to start your investigation."

"Gold street?" Qi Ming Wei repeated the name. There was a click-clacking sound in the background before he spoke again. "There are several clubs and bars in the street. "Garnet, Upstairs, Helena, Night Falls…"

"Upstairs," Zhang Yu Han chimed in. "That's the one that Li Mu Bai had mentioned. A few days before Li Mu Chen was caught, her brother had sent some people to follow after her. He couldn't find anything unusual from his sister's visit to the club. But you might find something different."

"Got it," Qi Ming Wei spoke. "I will send my men to look into the place."

"Just to be safe, perhaps you should look into every club around the street."

"I know. I will, Qi Ming Wei said. "You're in Capital City, right? When are you planning to return?"

"We should return to Y City the next morning. What's the matter?" 

"I don't advise you to stay in Capital City for too long. If what you suspected was true, then, staying in Capital City for too long would be dangerous for you."

A frown appeared on his face as he heard Qi Ming Wei's warning. "I know."

"Until the situation in Capital City is stabilized, don't come over too often."

The two had a brief chat before Zhang Yu Han ended the call. He leaned on his chair and sat there for a long time to compose himself. 

He had deliberately avoided his wife and come up to talk with Qi Ming Wei as he did not want his wife to worry too much. Zhang Yu Han knew that his wife's worried gaze would make his heartache. If he can, he wanted to let his wife and daughter live with him without worry.

Once he had sorted out his mind, Zhang Yu Han looked over the documents that the general manager had sent him before he went back to their suite. 

As he walked into the room, Zhang Yu Han could hear Li Xue's laughter. He followed the sound and found that the mother and daughter were in the bathroom. The little girl was taking her bath in the bathtub with her bath time toys all around her. Zhang Li Xue raised her hand and splashed the water. Then, she looked at her mother and laughed.

"Zhang Li Xue, you naughty girl," Li Qin Yao chuckled. She supported her daughter with one hand and wiped the water on her face with another. "Now you made me wet all over."

The little girl laughed at her mother's words. Her gaze then shifted to the door and her eyes widened when she saw her father. Then, Zhang Li Xue started to chatter and splashed more water around.

Seeing that her daughter's eyesight was somewhere else, Li Qin Yao turned around and paused. A smile gradually appeared on her face once she saw her husband. "You're back. Did you finish looking at the documents?" 

"En," Zhang Yu Han nodded. He then turned to his daughter who was staring back at the pink starfish floating on the water and asked, "Are you having fun?"

Zhang Li Xue squeezed at the toy and looked at her parents. Her lips curled into a playful smile.

"She seemed to like playing in the water very much," Li Qin Yao commented. 

"Maybe we should send her to a swimming class later. It's good to know how to swim," Zhang Yu Han spoke. He looked at his wife and smiled. "Are you hungry? Do you want to go downstairs or order room service?"

"Let's just order room service," Li Qin Yao said. "I'm too lazy to go out."

Zhang Yu Han nodded. Once his wife had decided on what she wanted to eat, Zhang Yu Han went to speak with Auntie Su. When he returned to their room, Zhang Li Xue had finished bathing and his wife was trying to put on her clothes. 

Unfortunately, because their daughter kept moving around, putting on her cloth can be hard work. As he approached the two of them, Zhang Yu Han's eyes turned darker.

His wife's blouse was wet and the cloth stuck closer to her skin after bathing their daughter earlier. 

Zhang Yu Han took a towel and wrapped it around his wife's shoulder. "Let me help you with Li Xue," He spoke as he took the clothes from her. "You should go and dry yourself before you get sick.."

"Oh," Li Qin Yao nodded before she walked away to grab a towel to dry herself. She walked out of the bathroom in new clothes and was suddenly pushed over the wall. Before she could figure out what was going on, her lips were pressed into a searing kiss.

Feeling the familiar embrace and scent, Li Qin Yao started gradually loosened up to reciprocate his kiss. It was only when she found that it was difficult for her to breathe that he finally released her. 

Li Qin Yao lowered her gaze and rested her head on his ċhėst to catch up with her breath. Her neck was sore after tilting her head for a long time. Li Qin Yao could hear his heartbeat thumping loudly as s she pressed her ear close to his ċhėst. The couple stayed in each other's embrace for a long time.

"How are you feeling?" Zhang Yu Han asked. He patted her back softly and twirled with the end of her hair. 

After a while, Li Qin Yao's hair had grown longer, and soon, it would reach the same length as it was during the first time he saw her on that basketball court.

"I'm fine." She looked at his face and smiled knowing that he was worried about what was on her mind after she had come back from the hospital. "Just a little bit sad when I think about what happened to Mu Chen. We grew up together. Although I knew that she did not like me, I never expected that she would do something that would harm people and ended up the way she is now."

His embrace tightened. Zhang Yu Han kissed her on her forehead and called her name, "Qin Yao?"

"Hmm?"

"When Qi Ming Wei's business ended, let's go on a vacation."
