Chapter 394 - Too Late to Escape

Once Zhang Yu Han and his family had left Capital City, Qi Ming Wei began his investigations. His men patronized the clubs on Gold Street to look for clues and soon found out that the VIP room on the second floor of the Upstairs Club was a bit suspicious. Unless they knew someone of those VIPs, it would be impossible to enter the place.

The club belonged to Shan Zi. With that information, Qi Ming Wei began his investigation from that person. With his connection, it was not hard to find out more about Shan Zi no matter how much he wanted to hide.

Now that their enemy was in the light, it was not hard for Qi Ming Wei to take him down. After meticulous planning, Qi Ming Wei and his men began to take action.

Shan Zi was not expecting that Qi Ming Wei would be able to find out about him that fast considering Li Mu Chen's condition. By the time he sensed that something was amiss, it was too late for him to escape. Shan Zi's and his gang were badly lost. Once the power behind him was uncovered, it was hard for him to retaliate.

The work that had taken him months to prepare finally ended when Shan Zi and his men were captured. 

On the news, it reported that the authority had raided Shan Zi's club and mentioned the discovery of drugs and weapons. Most of the civilians in Capital City had not noticed the war between Qi Ming Wei and Shan Zi at all.

Zhang Yu Han was reading the news on the tablet when the person in his ŀȧp started to slap the screen a few times. He frowned and lowered his gaze to his daughter and watched as she gave him a bright smile. Her small teeth could be seen peeking out from her gum. These days, his wife would often complain about how it was slightly painful when she fed their daughter.

"Zhang Li Xue," he gave her a reprimanding tone. His gaze went to the book that was lying beside him. 

Earlier, the little girl was busy looking at the pictures of animals in her cloth book. Now that she had accidentally tossed it aside and it was away from her reach, the little princess was determined to disturb her father.

Looking at her father's scowling face, the smile on her face went wide. She then tried to imitate her mother by lying her head on her father's ċhėst but Zhang Li Xue's version was: a mouth full of saliva.

Before the little girl succeed to do her naughty deed, her father had lifted her high, distancing them. Zhang Li Xue let out a happy squeal and laughed. Although she would prefer to be carried by her mother, Zhang Li Xue especially enjoyed it when her father would lift her higher past her father's head. However, before she could enjoy the scene around her, her father had lowered her and started to kiss her on both cheeks multiple times.

Zhang Li Xue let out another squeal, but this time, it was full of complaint. 

When Li Qin Yao entered the room, the father and daughter were looking at each other with a frown on their face. She silently took out her phone and snapped a picture of the two together.

"What are you two playing together?" Li Qin Yao asked as she walked out of her hiding place.

The father and daughter turned around towards her voice with their frown no longer visible.

"Ma!" Zhang Li Xue kicked her legs excitedly upon seeing her mother.

"Yes, yes, mummy is here," Li Qin Yao giggled at her daughter's act.

Now that she was in her nine-month, Zhang Li Xue had started trying to talk, and right now, the only word she liked to say was 'ma', knowing that it was the word she can use to call her mother.

Of course, her father was jealous. However, no matter how much he had tried to teach the little girl to call him, Zhang Li Xue would only blinked her eyes as she looked back at him. Looking at her face with her mother's mischievous smile, Zhang Yu Han began to suspect that his daughter deliberately did not want to call his name.

Zhang Li Xue reached her hand as she tried to get into her mother's embrace. However, as she turned her head to look at her mother, another kiss landed on her chubby cheek. She let out a yelp and turned to her father with a warning gaze.

When they found out that they will be having a girl, Qi Zheng often mentioned to him how a daughter would be closer to the father and sometimes igniting the mother's jealousy. However, why was his daughter different? She would often send him a look as if he was going to rob her mother away from her. 

"Are you done with shower?" Zhang Yu Han ignored his daughter and looked at his wife.

"Un," Li Qin Yao nodded as she took their daughter from him. Her gaze fell on the tablet on the sofa and a smile curled on her face. "Did Li Xue disturbed you with work?"

"No. I was reading some news," Zhang Yu Han said. He bent down to kiss her forehead. As her sweet scent filled his nostril, he then pulled her for another kiss.

The little girl who was forced to watch this exchange let out a shout.

"It seemed that the things at Qi Ming Wei's end are now over," Zhang Yu Han spoke. He turned to his daughter and narrowed his eyes. Then he turned to his wife again and explained what Qi Ming Wei had told him about the investigation and outcome. 

Once they found out about Shan Zi's backing, Qi Ming Wei then learned of how Shan Zi managed to enter the prison and got away without being seen by others. 

With Shan Zi's power was cut off before it could grow, the politician who was backing him too was caught and suddenly, there was news that this politician was involved in bribery. Since the evidence was clear, the politician had no other choice but to resign from his position.

Li Qin Yao listened to her husband's report as they head over to Grandfather's place.

Nowadays, Zhang Yu Han would often tell her about the Qi family business. Although she was not interested in them, as his wife, Zhang Yu Han thought that she should know about these things as they have a lot of dealings with the Qi.

When they arrived at Zhang Jing's place, Li Qin Yao looked at her husband and smiled. "Are you not giving Wei Jun Hao a chance this time?"

Wei Jun Hao had wanted to marry his sister and Zhang Yu Han set the condition that he will only allow Wei Jun Hao to propose if he could win against him a basketball match.

Zhang Yu Han turned to his wife and chuckled as he heard the question. "Now is not the time yet."

Li Qin Yao clicked her tongue. "You're such a bully."
