Once the family of three arrived at the residence, Li Qin Yao helped her daughter off her chair and put her down on the ground.
At the thought that she had not met her great-grandfather for a week, Zhang Li Xue let go of her mother's hand and ran towards the house with her short legs.
Surprised that her daughter was suddenly let go of her hand and run over, Li Qin Yao called out her name urgently. "Li Xue! Be careful."
The little girl turned around and stopped abruptly. However, because of that, she tripped on the small rock on the road.
She squeezed her eyes shut as she braced for the impact. However, the pain she was anticipating did not come. Zhang Li Xue felt a big hand around her stomach, lifting her off the ground.
Looking at her father who had caught her before she fell, Zhang Li Xue's face scrunched up. She wrapped her little arms around her father's neck and started to burst into tears.
Zhang Yu Han initially wanted to scold her for running around suddenly when she had promised her mother that she will not run around. However, once he heard her cry, his gaze began to soften and Zhang Yu Han patted at her back and let her calm down.
"Li Xue, are you alright?" Li Qin Yao asked. She inspected the girl and heaved a relieved sigh upon finding that she was unhurt.
Fortunately, Zhang Yu Han was quick enough to catch up with their daughter. Although Zhang Li Xue had a pair of short legs, she can run faster and Li Qin Yao would often worry that she was going to fall and hurt herself.
Looking at the little girl's aggrieved expression, Li Qin Yao patted at her buŧŧ. "Okay. It's alright now. I'm sorry. It's my fault. Mummy should not call out your name suddenly and surprise you. Li Xue, stop crying alright?"
The frown on her face deepened and Zhang Li Xue continued to bury her face on her father's neck. She was still shocked and would not let go of her father.
"Li Xue? What happened?" Auntie Su asked.
"It's fine, Auntie Su. She was just shocked." Zhang Yu Han continued to coax his daughter until Zhang Jing appeared.
"Li Xue?" Zhang Jing called as he walked over to them. "Why is my little princess crying? Did someone bully you? Tell me? Did your father bully you? I'll go and punish him alright?"
"Grandfather," Li Qin Yao called before she explained at what happened.
Knowing that it was his great-granddaughter who was at fault, Zhang Jing did not say anything.
At this time, Zhang Li Xue looked up at her grandfather. "Great-grandfather."
Zhang Jing looked at the girl and smiled. "Un. What is it?"
"I want to eat your barbecued chicken wing," Zhang Li Xue spoke with a face full of tears.
Suddenly, everyone turned to the little girl speechlessly. Her tears had stopped as she thought about food.
"Alright. Come with me. I'll personally grill some of them for you, alright?" Zhang Jing turned to Auntie Su and instructed her to take out the marinated chicken wing in the fridge.
The little girl wriggled out of her father's embrace and let her mother wiped the tears and snot off her face. Then, she walked over to her great-grandfather and the two of them head over to the backyard, holding hands.
Li Qin Yao looked up at her husband and saw the look he was giving her. She knew right away that he was going to say that their daughter had become a foodie like her. "Alright. Li Xue had turned to a foodie just like me. I know."
Zhang Yu Han laughed. "I did not say anything."
"I can tell what you wanted to say from the way you look at me."
His brow shot up. "Really?" He gave her another look and asked. "Guess what this look means?"
Li Qin Yao looked up at her husband and slowly, her face turned red. She slapped him at his arms and spoke, "You hooligan!"
"Why am I a hooligan?" Zhang Yu Han pulled her close to him and kissed her forehead. Then, he whispered at her, "Didn't you say you wanted to give Li Xue a sibling? Wife, we have to work hard."
Li Qin Yao stared at him speechlessly. Anyway, they were still at Grandfather's place.
"Li Xue have grandfather and Auntie Su to look after her. Yu Ying was not at home either," Zhang Yu Han whispered. The hand on her waist moved down to her buŧŧ in slow torturous movement.
Just as he was about to lean in and kiss his wife, the front door swung open and a cheery voice was heard.
"Sister-in-law!" Zhang Yu Ying shouted as soon as she walked in. "I saw your car outside and knew that you guys are here." She shifted her gaze to her brother and continued. "When did the three of you come back?" Her eyes widened upon noticing that something was not right with her brother's expression. "B-brother, why are you looking at me like that?"
Li Qin Yao stifled a laugh knowing that her husband was annoyed at his sister for disturbing their time.
The frown on Zhang Yu Han's face deepened as he looked at her sister.
Zhang Yu Ying took a step back and hid behind Li Qin Yao. "Sister-in-law, how did you get married to this fierce man?"
"He's your brother!"
"Forget it." Zhang Yu Han heaved a sigh as he thought of how his sister would often stick to his wife. He had thought that she would stop finding his wife after she dated Wei Jun Hao, but his sister would still find his wife.
Fortunately, his sister will be married soon. He can only hope that soon, Yu Ying will not have much time to pester his wife and steal her away from him.
"I'll go and check on Li Xue," Zhang Yu Han spoke as he retreated and head over to the backyard.
"What's wrong with him" Zhang Yu Ying blinked as she watched her brother. Once the door was shut, she turned her attention back to Li Qin Yao with a bright look on her eyes. "Sister-in-law. Let me tell you about Jun Hao's proposal!"
