Chapter 400 - Daddy, Teach Me

Once Zhang Xi and his wife returned from Country C, they immediately arranged for a meeting between the two families at Zhang's residence. It did not take a long time for Wei Jun Hao and his aunt to come over and discuss his marriage with Zhang Yu Ying.

On the weekend, the auntie and nephew showed up for lunch at the Zhang's residence with a few bags of gifts for Zhang Jing and the others. Knowing that they were going to discuss his wedding, Wei Jun Hao was determined to win everyone's heart.

Li Qin Yao glanced at her husband upon noticing that Wei Jun Hao showed up only with his aunt.

As she listened to the conversation between the elders, Li Qin Yao found out that Wei Jun Hao was raised by her aunt, Wang Xin Lian since he was a little boy as both his parents had passed away.

Since Wei Jun Hao only had his auntie as his only family, he was mostly obedient towards her and would do anything to make her happy. Therefore, even when he was unhappy about attending the blind dates that her aunt had arranged for him in the past. To Wei Jun Hao, his aunt was the same as his mother.

"This kid always told me that he had a girl that he liked and I did not believe him." Wang Xin Lian smiled amiably. "I always thought that he was making excuses not to attend the blind dates that I arranged for him." She paused again and turned to Zhang Yu Ying. "It turns out that he was telling the truth."

Wei Jun Hao poked at her auntie's waist. "Auntie, please stop talking."

"Everyone was familiar with each other for years. What are you embarrassed about?" Wang Xin Lian turned to her nephew with a displeased look on her face. Then, she turned around to the others, smiling again. "In the past, this kid would always find a way so that he did not have to attend those blind dates. Sometimes, I was embarrassed when he did not show up to the date. At one time, he had asked someone else to attend the date for him. That's right. At one time, he even asked his insurance agent to attend a date for him."

Wei Jun Hao froze before he raised his head to look at his best friend and laughed.

He had never asked his insurance agent to attend a date for him. That was only his best friend's tactic, pretending to be an insurance salesman just to avoid talking to people.

Once Zhang Yu Han was reminded of that date, he then turned to his wife and exchanged a knowing look.

He had always thought that it was fortunate for him to attend that blind date in his friend's stead. It had given him the chance to be meet with his wife.

"The kids had known each other for a long time," Zhang Jing spoke. "I have seen them grow up and play around together since they were five. Let's just get them married quickly. It doesn't make sense to waste time and delay."

"You don't have to worry," Liu Hui Lan spoke. "I have experience in planning a wedding with only two months for my son. I can guarantee that it would not lose to a wedding that had been planned for a year."

Anyway, the Zhang family was not without money. As long as they are willing to spend, of course, anything can be done.

"En," Wang Xin Lian nodded. She glanced at both Zhang Yu Han and his wife and smiled. "I went to Yu Han's wedding. It was grand and meticulously planned. It only takes you two months to plan?"

Liu Hui Lan began to explained what she did in the wedding planning. Of course, Wang Xin Lian continued to be amazed as she listened to her story.

"Sister, it seemed that I will have a lot to learn from you," Wang Xin Lian spoke. "I don't have a child, only this nephew with me. Now that he will soon marry, I can be more at ease. I can face my sister proudly if I see her again."

Hearing her auntie talked about his late mother, Wei Jun Hao's expression grew soft.

Wei Jun Hao and his auntie spent long hours at the residence to chat and discussed the marriage before they left.

After helping her mother-in-law and Auntie Su to clean up, Li Qin Yao went into the backyard and took a seat next to Zhang Yu Ying who was staring at the basketball court with a dazed expression. "Yu Ying."

Zhang Yu Ying snapped out of her trance and smiled. "Sister-in-law."

"What are you thinking about? Don't tell me that you were watching your brother playing basketball." Li Qin Yao turned her gaze towards the court where her husband was dribbling the ball and their daughter stood at the center as she watched her father in awe.

"It's nothing," Zhang Yu Ying lowered her gaze. "Just thinking about the upcoming wedding and stuff."

"What is it? Don't tell me that you changed your mind?"

"It's not that. I just thought that everything suddenly moved too fast."

Li Qin Yao smiled. "When your brother asked me to marry him, I did not have a lot of time to think too much. He straightaway dragged me to the bureau and registered our marriage."

Zhang Yu Ying snorted. "You don't think that you got married to my brother too quickly?"

"Maybe," Li Qin Yao said. "Back then, I only know that I wanted to be by his side, to see his face the first thing when I woke up, and the last before I sleep. Therefore I followed my heart and agreed. It might be a bit hasty, but I'm glad that I did not hesitate and agree."

Zhang Yu Ying heaved a sigh as she thought back when the two suddenly announced that they were getting married and suddenly visited the bureau on the next Monday.

"If you think six months is too quick, you can always discuss things with Wei Jun Hao," Li Qin Yao said. "Although I always think that marriage isn't just a two-person affair, everything would depend on whether the two persons' happiness."

"Hmm… I know." Zhang Yu Ying smiled. "Sister-in-law, don't worry about me."

From the first time she had seen her father playing in a match with her Uncle Wei, Zhang Li Xue was smitten with the game. She especially loved to see how her father could jump up high. Every time her father jumped and slam dunk, Zhang Li Xue found that she was unable to look away.

It seemed as if her father had grown a pair of wings and fly.

Zhang Li Xue stared at her short legs and jumped. Apparently, she was unable to jump up high. A scowl appeared on her face as she continued to look at her short leg. She looked up to her mother who was sitting on the bench and the frown deepened.

Although she loved it when people would say that she resembled her mother, Zhang Li Xue wished that she would be as tall as her father. Then maybe she could jump as high too.

As the thought crossed her mind, Zhang Li Xue looked up and stared at the basketball hoop which was too high for her.

"Li Xue, do you want to try?" Zhang Yu Han spoke as he approached their daughter with the ball.

"Oh!" Zhang Li Xue's eyes brightened up. She took the ball from her father and threw it on the ground. However, the ball did not bounce back like how her father did it. Instead, it rolled away from her feet and went over somewhere else.

Her mouth curled into a pout as she watched the ball went farther away. She looked at her father and blinked, acting cute. "Daddy, teach me!"

Hearing her request, Zhang Yu Han felt something blooming in his heart. It was not every day that his daughter would try to sell her cuteness to win him over.

"Alright," Zhang Yu Han patted at her daughter's head. He went over to grab the ball again and handed it over to her daughter. "Hold this."

Zhang Li Xue held the ball tightly and yelped as her father lifted her high. Her eyes grew in excitement upon seeing the basketball hoop in front of her.

"Go on."

Zhang Li Xue stretched her hand and pushed it a little bit into the hoop. A gasp escaped her as she watched the ball entered the hoop and soon bounced on the court. Her father put her back on the ground and she turned around to see that both her mother and auntie were clapping hands for her.

"Mommy, did you see that?"

Li Qin Yao nodded at her daughter. "En. My little princess is awesome!"

A tinge of pink appeared on her cheek upon hearing her mother's praise. She turned to her father and looked at him with expectant eyes. "Daddy! Again!"
