Chapter 440 - Side Story 6: Song Yi's Mistake

Not long after, Song Yi arranged to go to Y City to look for Han Yue Xiu's best friend and hope that she will help to give him some advice.

Li Qin Yao was caught in a surprise when Song Yi appeared at the QL Group in B City. She was even more surprised that this man had come over to ask for a few pointers to woo her best friend.

Initially, Li Qin Yao was reluctant to say anything to him, especially knowing how this man had treated her friend. However, looking at his pitiful expression, Li Qin Yao suddenly changed her mind. 

According to Han Yue Xiu, Song Yi had changed and had stopped pestering her. Moreover, Song Yi had helped her to find out about her cousin's attempt to harm her. At the thought that she did not want to owe anything from Song Yi, Li Qin Yao had told him a few things about Han Yue Xiu.

From Han Yue Xiu's best friend, Song Yi found out that Han Yue Xiu was someone who did not like it when someone forced her to do something. Growing up, Han Yue Xiu was someone who would always follow her mother's arrangement. She had gone to the school that her mother had chosen and studied what her mother wanted her to learn.

Back then, it was because Han Yue Xiu decided to rebel that she had applied to enter her school basketball team. There was a court near her house and she would often go there to practice. After playing with the neighborhood boys, her skills were pretty good that she was chosen as one of the main players. 

Fortunately, her mother did not say anything when she found out that Han Yue Xiu's choice in her school activity. As long as she had a good result, her mother decided that she was going to let Han Yue Xiu play.

The second time Han Yue Xiu decided to go against her mother was after high school. At that time, her mother had wanted her to enroll in a different program at university. However, Han Yue Xiu was determined to study computers. The war between the mother and daughter lasted for days until Father Han was able to be the mediator.

In the end, Mother Han gave up and only told her daughter that she has to get a good grade or else, she will be forced to quit. 

As Song Yi left Y City and headed back to Capital City, he could not help but think that it was his fault that Han Yue Xiu had pushed him aside. He was too forceful when he was courting the girl he liked. He had kissed her without her consent and had forced her to be in a relationship without asking for her opinion or allowing her to think about it.

Of course, Han Yue Xiu would be frightened!

Han Yue Xiu's best friend had helped him to figure out that women did not like it whenever they were forced to do things. Those novels and dramas about domineering male lead were nothing but for entertainment. 

A woman would prefer to be with someone who valued their opinion. They were human too and wanted their words to be heard. They wanted to be treated as equals.

Therefore, Song Yi was making the wrong move when he forced Han Yue Xiu to be in a relationship with him without asking for her opinion. Because of his move, Han Yue Xiu was furious to the point that she did not want anything to do with Song Yi.

He then made everything worst when he told her that he will not give up to make her like him.

Song Yi went back to Capital City feeling remorseful at what he had done to Han Yue Xiu. 

If only he was a bit patient… If only he tried to court her the right way, perhaps he might still stand a chance. But now, his romance had ended before it could even begin.

Song Yi took a few days off to heal his broken heart and later, when he returned to the office, he was acting like his usual self.

No matter how heartbroken he was, Song Yi still thought that he could not give up on Han Yue Xiu. As long as this girl was not married to anyone, he would try his best!

Song Yi would still call Han Yue Xiu to his office where he would teach her a few things about the new technology that their company was working on. The two of them would continue to have a takeout dinner in his office.

But this time, Song Yi took the initiative and offered Han Yue Xiu a lift back home.

The first time that Han Yue Xiu had accepted his offer, Song Yi was delighted. He almost jumped in joy, but he had to bury his excitement deep in his heart.

Suddenly, sending Han Yue Xiu home has become a new routine.

Although the two of them would often talk about work, Song Yi found that the little time that they spent together was the happiest moments.

Gradually, without Song Yi's realizing it, Han Yue Xiu no longer keep her guard up whenever he was around. The way she had treated him had changed and Han Yue Xiu had started to accept that Song Yi had changed for the better.

At this point, Han Yue Xiu had started to think of Song Yi as a good friend, and the two of them started to converse about a lot of topics together. Their conversation was no longer surrounding their job or the company.

While he was following this new routine without fail, Song Yi would still contact Mother Han and the two of them would often text each other. 

Actually, it was Song Yi who would initiate to contact Mother Han. He knew that she would still have to visit the hospital for a checkup and would later ask for her health.

Knowing that Song Yi had wanted to get through her daughter by treating her nicely, Mother Han decided to help him out.

Anyway, throughout her interaction with Song Yi, Mother Han had thought that he was a good child. With his background and manners, Song Yi was better than any guy that her daughter had dated. 

The night before Mother Han was supposed to visit the hospital for another checkup, she had texted Song Yi and mentioned to him about her visit.
