[Ding, a new mission has been added to the "Missions" tab, the Descendant will be able to see this mission at any time.]
Seeing this familiar message, Noah was excited. The last time he had received a mission was in the Fire Fortress where his wings had grown a lot, but not enough for him to fly yet. But with the size that his wings had already reached, Noah knew that the next time they grew, he could finally fly.
Now, once again a mission appeared, so of course, Noah was beaming with happiness, although no one around him could see the expression he was making because of the armor.
Thinking of the mission window, a floating window appeared in front of him.
[Quest Line: Journey of the Wings (3)
Background: God had never given wings to angels at their birth. Each angel always had to complete several tasks for God before they could receive their own pair of wings and finally be considered as a real angel. Like the other angels, Lucifer also had to go through challenges to get his own wings.
The user is on the threshold to receive their first definitive set of wings, a great milestone for every angel. But in addition to the glory that the wings grant, so too are there responsibilities. To fulfill those responsibilities, the user needs knowledge, so complete your task to receive the glory and part of the truth about the world.
Mission 01: Totems from other deities were scattered throughout the universe; one of these totems is being detected nearby. The user must destroy this totem and absorb the divinity contained within the totem. The absorbed deity will be used to develop the user's Lucifer Wings.
Mission 02: The essence released by this totem will attract countless monsters, stay within 10 meters of the totem for 15 minutes so that the system can absorb the essence released by the totem. This essence will unlock a chapter fragment from Lucifer's Diary containing truths unknown to mankind.
Destroyed totems: 0/1]
Noah's mouth fell open. He didn't expect the mission to unlock flight to be so complicated.
Since he knew that other humans could not notice the totems because of illusions, Noah would have to complete this on his own. But even if he could take the other humans, it would be strange for humans to see the totem of a God, that they probably knew, being absorbed by Noah, which would cause even more problems for him.
Facing Rank D monsters was relatively easy, especially with the imps he had, but now, in a Rank C Fortress, the imps would not be as useful as they had been in the previous Fortress. After all, their strength was still at Rank E. Not counting that with more than 20 imps rented out, having only 8 imps against these stone monsters wouldn't be all that useful. Perhaps the only useful ones might be the three imps with abilities.
"Captain, can I do reconnaissance in the area?" Noah asked in a professional tone, different from the more casual Blessed Ones around him.
Hearing the tone Noah was using, the captain felt even more favorable to this boy, who unlike the other Blessed Ones who just wanted to appear to be more helpful, still acted arrogantly. But Noah's request made the captain feel a little doubtful. He didn't want to lose a young talent such as him. "Are you sure about that? We have rogues for that; you don't need to expose yourself unnecessarily."
"My Blessing gives me relative security. If something dangerous arises that risks my life, I can just teleport back to the group," Noah replied.
Hearing this, the captain was a little concerned that the influence of these other people who were trying to appear to be more useful than they really were was affecting the boy. But knowing that the boy could return alive to the group at any time because of the Space Blessing he had, the captain decided to give him a little freedom to gain some experience in his first Rank C Fortress. "Okay, but don't get too far, or take longer than necessary."
"Understood." Noah responded before bursting into flames and disappearing from where he stood.
"I bet $500 that this kid is going to die alone," the long-bearded warrior said enthusiastically.
"I bet he'll be back running in five minutes," another person said.
"He seems to be arrogant. I would say that he will try to fight a few monsters and come back with a big injury," another person bet.
At that time, the raid group had become a bookie operation, where several people doubted that Noah would return, or succeed in the task of scouting.
They didn't care if he lived or died; it was all just a game for those Blessed who wanted their merit points.
One of the only ones to be truly concerned there was the captain, who hoped Noah would return safely. 'Don't let yourself die with such a talent, boy.'
If they knew that Noah was going to a task several times more dangerous, the others would have laughed even more, and the captain would definitely not have let him out so easily, but fortunately, no one did.

Because of the system, Noah could vaguely sense where the totem was, so it was only a matter of time for him to teleport there.
Looking from a distance, the place looked like a stone temple made to worship some kind of ancient Greek God.
A statue of a large, strong man was in the middle, entirely made of stone, more than 5 meters high. Around the statue, two stone wolves were sleeping, probably absorbing the aura that came from the statue, becoming stronger by the second and probably preventing other monsters from also approaching to absorb it.
As much as the monsters lived inside the same Fortress, in some cases some monsters were hostile to each other. Just as these wolves could kill humans, they probably could also kill the wild boars to eat.
'Hehe, they must have absorbed a lot of essence from the totem pole. I hope they drop at least one essence for me to see how it looks,' Noah thought before teleporting.
