Chapter 78 - Angeline's Rescue Mission

In his heart, Cederic burst out laughing.

David was completely helpless after losing Angeline. What Catty said was true. It seems that David has turned into a useless figure and is very far from being a dangerous enemy without Angeline by his side.

After they managed to get Angeline, they thought that David would return to being himself in the past, which was cruel and merciless, but David instead transformed into a sheep without horns.

Cederic is completely satisfied with David's reaction now. It was really embarrassing for someone who was so respected and feared in the Underworld. Seeing the present David, makes Cederic think that the nickname of the Demon Prince who has been adored every single mafia in the Underworld has become a very ridiculous laughing stock.

Demon Prince?

The figure of a David Stockholm that he now saw was more accurately described as a little ghost who would immediately disappear if someone scared him just a little. Maybe there is no such thing, but the most important thing is that David has fallen very drastically in Cederic's eyes.

Apparently, what Henry was afraid of really happened. Cederic was too suspicious to be considered a friend. No, not even just to be considered a pawn to be thrown away after being used.

Cederic is truly the enemy in the blanket for David.

Cederic grabbed David's shoulder. "Calm down, I'll try my best to find Angeline."

Cederic is truly a very dangerous person.

"I've found Angeline's location."

David, who had been sitting on the only sofa in the secret storage room of his firearms collection, which was on the basement of the main building of Stockholm Corporation, now turned his head.

"Where?"

"The location is not very accurate because her cellphone is still not active, but we can be sure that Angeline is now at the foot of Mount Everest, precisely in the eastern part which is quite far from the Sherpa Tribe settlement." Amanda explained, showing David her computer screen.

David got up from his couch and walked toward Amanda, followed by Cederic and Marshall.

Cederic stared at Amanda's computer screen, "How accurate is the location?"

"For the exact point I still can't determine, but the accuracy is about four kilometers."

"So we have to keep looking blindly within a four kilometer diameter radius?"

Marshall, the muscular man with the least amount of brain capacity, finally spoke up after being confused by the green markings and lines of various colors displayed on Amanda's computer screen. "Looks like all of us would get skinny if we had to walk around four kilometers."

Amanda just shook her head softly at Marshall's statement which made things even more difficult, while David and Cederic ignored it at all.

"No need to search blindly." David said, causing Cederic and Amanda to turn their heads. "Are there any other settlements in the vicinity besides the Sherpas?"

"No. But it will not rule out the possibility that within a fairly wide radius, Angeline will be placed in a building that was deliberately made to complicate our search."

"No problem." said David at last.

David signaled Amanda to step aside and let David sit at her computer. Neither Cederic nor Marshall did understand what David was doing, but Amanda nodded several times until finally the woman rounded her eyes when the random radius of Angeline's location, which was previously four kilometers in diameter, became very small, about thirty meters even though it was divided into several small points.

Cederic frowned, "David, what did you just do?"

David got up and walked to the other side of the room to prepare everything he needed to save Angeline. Seeing David who did not seem to want to answer questions from Cederic made Amanda take the initiative to take David's place in explaining what he had just done on Amanda's computer.

"David realized the most crucial thing I was ignoring."

"And what is that?" asked Cederic.

Amanda also took a deep breath and exhaled somewhat roughly. She was not annoyed by Cederic's question, but she was annoyed by her own stupidity.

"What David did was to narrow down the location of the search by taking advantage of the heat. Mount Everest itself is the highest mountain in the world, automatically the entire surface of the mountain will be covered with snow. Plus the location of Angeline is a location very far from settlements, and on the mountain itself there are almost no animals and plants that can live at these extreme temperatures. So, only a few temperatures can be easily distinguished based on the color displayed on the computer screen."

Cederic still doesn't get the answer he wants. "Then, how is David able to detect the temperature there?"

"Have you forgotten?" asked Amanda back. Cederic didn't answer, knowing that the question Amanda had just said was a rhetorical one that didn't need to be answered. "The satellite I'm using is a satellite belonging to NASA, not a satellite belonging to Google Earth which can be accessed by anyone. And do I need to explain how I can hack a satellite that has a super high security level?"

Marshall now interrupted. "Of course there's no need! Because my woman is really a genius, don't you think?"

Amanda also glanced disdainfully at Marshall. "What did you say? Your woman?"

"Of course!" Marshall still insisted, making Amanda respond only to roll her eyes lazily, not wanting to respond to Marshall's stupidity even at the slightest moment possible.

Krakk ... Krakk ...

The sound coming from a whiplash being pulled from a sniper rifle made the three people who had been arguing about what David was doing on Amanda's computer screen now turn to the source of the sound. "When you guys are done with all the bullshit, hurry up and get ready. Within an hour, I want it all ready."

Amanda immediately played her fingers on the keyboard to remove traces of hacks from her computer against the NASA satellite. Cederic rushes toward David's semi-automatic weapons storage while Marshall is having a hard time packing his stock of snacks into a suitcase where he should be able to store a heavy type firearm that is perfect for his use on the battlefield.

Even though this is only a rescue mission, it is possible that it will become a battlefield that endangers Angeline's life.

But Amanda's finger stopped, making David notice it. "What happen?"

Amanda swallowed hard. David thought Amanda had been detected by NASA's satellite security system. If something like that happens, David only needs to contact his acquaintance in the field of UN defense, the person who had made an agreement with David when he had a less exciting incident while on vacation together in Hawaii with Angeline. But the next thing Amanda said broke David's thoughts completely.

"There was someone who also hacked the same satellite I used to find Angeline's location. And the hack path this person used was exactly the same as the one I used. Even though the anonymous encryption code was much different, the algorithm planting time was completely in sync with my hack data, and almost all of them are exactly the same."

Cederic also stopped what he was doing and turned to Amanda. "Try to explain in a language that can be understood more by humans. We are not robots who understand all those terms."

Amanda also turned to Cederic. From the look on her face, Cederic realized that there was something wrong that Amanda was trying to convey.

David also interrupted, "There are other people who also get the same data as Amanda's."

"Was that person also looking for Angeline's whereabouts?" Amanda asked David.

David turned to Amanda. "Is there any data of yours that he's trying to grab?"

"No, even my hack's algorithm is still stable and not bothered at all."

David closed the briefcase containing the CheyTac Intervention .408 and locked it. "I can't guess what this person is looking for, because I haven't sent anyone to help me find Angeline's whereabouts either. But one thing I can confirm is, in this mission, we will have uninvited guests. Whether she's a friend, or a foe, I still can't confirm that. "

Cederic scratched his chin which didn't actually itch. "Everything is so abstract. As long as I live, I have never met anyone who has such extraordinary hacking abilities besides Amanda. Is there any possibility that this mysterious hacker is a member of your former division in the government?"

Amanda shook her head softly, "No, only I can do this, even in all government divisions at the time."

The three of them were silent for a moment, making Marshall nervous. "What have you been talking about, actually?"

David typed a message on his cell phone then turned to look at Marshall. "Can you pilot a helicopter?"

Marshall nodded while puffing out his chest, proud of what he was about to say. "Of course, I used to even control a fighter jet when I was still—"

"Then you will go there with Amanda. I just asked someone to lend me a gunship helicopter that camouflages itself as a helicopter for reporters, inside that helicopter is a heavy type firearm as well as a missile with a heat-seeking sensor. Amanda, you go with Marshall and wait for my signal. Cederic and I will be there first by my company's private jet. "

Amanda put on an expression of protest. "Why am I always paired up with this idiot."

Cederic smiled. "Just accept it, at least that idiot can protect you from the bad guys out there, don't you think?"

Marshall smiled at Cederic while holding up his thumb, "That's right! You are indeed my best friend, Cederic."

Amanda can only surrender to David's decision and continue what she wanted to do after being stopped due to unexpected events.

Who was the person who also hacked the same satellite that was hacked by Amanda at the same time?

What did that person have to do with finding Angeline?

No one knows yet. What is clear, David just needs to be prepared with all the possibilities that will happen.

There is only one goal that he holds dear at the moment.

Saving the only woman he loves more than anything in this world.
