Chapter 106 - Dave And Dita's Trip

The last day of orientation for the students, Dave packed his things and put them in his backpack. Briston Gal Private High School plans to end the orientation of new students by camping on the beach in the province of the Thousand Islands.

What makes it interesting is that no teacher is involved. The student council will be in charge of all new students who have just completed their orientation period. The school wants each student to be independent, and also train student council members to be responsible leaders in the future.

Although this decision sounds very bold, the school has been doing it for the past five years. So, the school feels confident about it.

Of course, those who want to participate in this, must submit a statement letter from their parents, stating that they have been allowed to participate in this activity. For those who are not allowed by their parents, they will not be able to participate.

Dave got a warm hug from Angeline before leaving home and driving his Ducati sport bike to school. They will use a chartered bus to go to the Thousand Islands province in North Jakarta.

When Dave arrived at the parking area, hundreds of students were seen filling the school's front yard carrying their respective bags. There were some students who brought suitcases, even though the activities were only two days and two nights. According to a circular issued by the student council to be signed by the parents, they will build a camp for the night.

Because of that, Dave decided to bring only enough clothes. And perhaps, the bag Dave was carrying was the smallest of all the students's belongings.

Dave took off his helmet and unzipped his bomber jacket and walked over to Jean, who was already waving, smiling at him. Next to her was Rey, who was looking around in all directions, trying to find something Dave didn't know what it was yet.

The thing that annoyed Dave was Randy who was standing very close to Jean. Even though Jean wasn't bothered by it, but his attitude recently sparked Dave's emotions quite a bit. His behavior seemed to say that no one could refuse whatever he wanted. Everyone in his path was nothing but useless trash that didn't even mean anything before his eyes. Such was the character of Randy that Dave managed to catch.

At first, Dave didn't care about Randy in the slightest. However, when Randy blatantly badmouthed Dave on social media last night which could be seen by many people, especially Randy openly said Dave was a child of a destitute family who entered through a scholarship and could buy an expensive motorbike because he might sell himself to women, rich women who want to cheat on their husband, that's when Dave decided to crush Randy slowly.

Dave doesn't care if Randy badmouths him on social media. However, because Randy had mentioned his parents, it was then that Dave would no longer hold back.

Dave walked over to Jean and returned Jean's towel that he had washed first. "Thanks." said Dave dryly which made Jean smile at him.

A student council member who is familiar to Dave was standing near one of the buses they would use to go to the Thousand Islands province. Aryo, the man puffed out his chest, seemed to be ready to let out a sound from his throat that always bothered Dave's hearing.

"Hey! All of you are told to line neatly, why are you messy like dry fish like this?! Lines according to each class!"

After everything was neatly lined up, Jean as the class president began to attend one by one the students who were allowed to go to this activity. Dave could see it, Aryo watched Jean's every move. From his eyes alone, Dave could already see the bad intentions Aryo was thinking in his head.

When all the students got into the bus, Jean was still standing outside to wait for one person who hadn't arrived. Dave got up from his seat and walked out of the bus and walked over to Jean.

"Give me the checklist, you can get on the bus first."

Jean turned to Dave. "Uh, it's okay Dave, this is my job as class president anyway."

Dave also took the check list from Jean's hands. "Just go in. Don't you see that you've sweat that much? Your beauty will disappear if you sweat more than this."

"M-me ... Beauty ... You say—"

Dave looked at the student attendance list carefully. "Yeah, you're pretty, and sweaty. Just go in already."

Hearing Dave say that, a reddish tinge now clearly printed on Jean's cheek. The people on the bus might think that it was the effect of Jean standing in the hot sun too long.

Jean could no longer refuse Dave's request and got into the bus.

The bus driver complained to Aryo as the person in charge of this activity as well as the most senior student council member of all the other student council members.

Aryo walked over to Dave. It was clear that Aryo maintained his attitude when talking to Dave, making everyone who saw him feel astonished and curious about Aryo's different attitude from the other new students except Dave.

Some even think that Dave is Aryo's close relative, so Aryo treats Dave differently.

Even though in reality, what Aryo shows is not an attitude of protecting the underclassmen, more of a respectful and reluctant attitude for fear of Dave's own real identity.

"Dave… so it's turned out like this." Aryo started their conversation. Dave remains focused on the student attendance list which he keeps checking so that no defects in the list will make Jean difficult in the future. Dave is the type of person who is very ignorant and also cold, but if there are people who he thinks are close, then Dave will really pay attention and care to them, like Jean and Rey. The two of them Dave considered as friends. "The bus driver told me that the departure time was really late. So, he has started the engine now, if someone hasn't come yet, we will assume he, or she didn't come."

There is still one person who hasn't come. If it was someone else, then Dave wouldn't care and just walked away. But the problem is, the person who didn't come was a girl who had been a trending topic in his mind lately.

Yep, the only absent column that hasn't been signed is Dita's absent column.

Dita was the one who made Dave wait for him for over an hour under the hot sunlight.

Dave also gave Aryo a list of student attendance. "Give this to my class president. You can tell the bus to go first. For someone who hasn't come yet, I'll take care of it."

"You mean you're going to wait for him? Then how do you catch up with us?"

Dave glared at Aryo, making Aryo swallow his own saliva reflexively. "Just do what I say."

Finally Aryo did what Dave asked and they left, leaving Dave alone in the front yard of the school. Dave ordered an online motorcycle taxi and asked him to buy a helmet at the nearest place, to be precise, a full-face helmet for women.

And after half an hour of waiting, finally, from a distance, a girl was seen running hastily while carrying her backpack. Inwardly, Dave was grateful that Dita didn't carry too many things.

Yep, the girl who was running in haste is Dita.

"Hahh ... Hahh ..." Dita rested her hands on her knees and tried to catch her roaring breath.

"Are you alone here? Where are the others?"

"They have already left." Dave replied flatly, making Dita round her eyes perfectly.

"Huh? Then why are you still here? Are you also late to come like me?"

"Nope."

"Then, why?"

Dave took Dita's backpack and put it in front of his chest then gave Dita the helmet he had just bought through an online motorcycle taxi broker. Dave got on the motor sport and started the engine, while Dita was still silent where he was standing, trying to understand what was going on.

Dave opened his helmet visor. "Why are you just silent? Come on. We ain't got much time anymore."

"We ... Are we going there on motorbikes?"

"Why? Are you afraid?"

"Huh? No, why should I be afraid?" replied Dita, who was still standing in her place.

"Don't worry, my two hands are busy holding the steering wheel, so you don't need to be afraid that 'Pervert' like me will mess around while we on the trip there."

Dave said that while emphasizing his intonation at the word Pervert, trying to offend Dita.

Dita finally put on her helmet after thinking several times. Dave lowered his footrest for Dita, which made it easy for her to get on the high sport bike seat.

Dave looked back. "Can we go now?"

"Hm."

"Hold on tight, or you'll fall."

Dita rounded her eyes, "Huh? Did you say that on purpose, so you can get a free hug from me?"

Dave releases the clutch suddenly and pulls the gas lever for a third of the full turn, making Dita jump backwards and almost fall off the bike. Finally Dita decided to put her hands around Dave's waist. "What did I say, you'll fall."

Their long journey began.
