The morning sunshine woke Dave. The pain running through the back of his head completely made him unable to show the expressionless face he usually showed. The sound of the waves crashing in his ears made him sure that he was still in the area where they were carrying out the activities held by the student council.

Next to him came the sound of gunfire shouting at each other.

Wait, was there any gun fighting going on on the beach where they were holding orientation activities?

"You're fucking dead, you bastard! I'll shoot your fucking head!" shouted Rey as he kept his cell phone playing the online game he had always played in his spare time.

Seeing Dave's moving feet made Rey turn his head. "Oh, are you awake?"

They are in the tent. After saying that, Rey turned his attention back to the game he was still playing.

"Rey, how—"

"Take it easy, Jean has been well cared for by our friends. I also tied the people who ganged up on you to the tree trunk, they won't be able to escape because I tied them so tightly. Luckily you can wake up before the teachers and school's staff comes here, or they can see your tattoos for trying to treat you who are injured.

Dave got up from his sleeping position and squeezed his forehead which still felt very dizzy. "So have you seen the tattoo on my back?"

"Yup."

Actually Rey hasn't seen the tattoo on Dave's back. Rey only learns that Dave must have a tattoo indicating that he is a member of the Destroyer. Because Rey also has the tattoo, but Rey doesn't tattoo his back, but his lower tongue.

Rey is actually a new member of the Destroyer. Just as Dave decided to leave the gang, Rey signed in. But Rey still didn't want to tell Dave the truth. Who knows how long he will hide his identity as a fellow member of the most violent gang in their area.

Dave also crawled out of the tent and tried to stand up straight.

From a distance, Dave could see Jean was surrounded by several people, while she sat huddled in Dita's arms.

Dave touched the wound on the back of his head, it was still very painful but the blood was no longer dripping out.

Dave walked slowly towards Jean, stopped right in front of the girl who had just survived the incident that happened to her last night and knelt down. Dave reached out his hand to stroke the top of Jean's head, stroked it gently to the side and then stopped there. "Are you okay?"

Jean, who was just silent, the slightest warning rushed straight at Dave, wrapped her arms behind Dave's body under Dave's arms and then hugged Dave's body very tightly. Jean buried her face in Dave's chest and cried as hard as possible.

Dave, still on his knees, could only gently stroke Jean's head, not wanting to stop her from crying.

Dave thought that Jean had the right to cry her heart out after what she had last night. Several female students helped calm Jean by patting her gently on the back. Meanwhile, Dita, who had felt the most responsibility to take care of Jean as her closest friend, now feels craved and doesn't do anything.

But in her heart, somehow the sight of Jean hugging Dave's body in front of her was so painful.

Dita understands from Rey's explanation that Jean has experienced something very bad and almost ruined the girl's life in the future, and Dave was the one who fought tooth and nail to save Jean.

But those two facts made Dita's heart cry inside.

The fact that Dave is willing to fight tooth and nail to save Jean.

And also the fact that Jean hugged Dave so tightly in front of her own eyes.

She realized that she was nothing compared to Jean. Both in terms of appearance and attitude shown in front of everyone. Jean has a very likable nature, in contrast to Dita.

Dita even felt that maybe she should step back and start gradually erasing the feelings that had recently arisen in her heart for Dave.

The feeling that she liked Dave and wanted to replace the person who was hugging Dave so tightly right now.

From the port, two ships were seen approaching. One is a passenger ship boarded by school staff with the principal directly picking them up, while the other is a ship from the police.

Rey showed the police where he tied Aryo and his gang and they were immediately taken away by the police who arrived on the boat. They had to carry them one by one because all of them had terrible body conditions and serious injuries, all thanks to Dave's rage.

Rey also did not forget to show the results of his video recording which he took when Aryo and his friends tried to do despicable things to Jean to the person who looked like the leader of the police team that had arrived.

"Then, who made them to be so battered like that?"

Rey pointed to a man who was on his knees while being hugged tightly by a girl. "He's the man, his name is Dave. If I'm not mistaken, his full name is Adonis Daveline Stockholm."

"Stockholm? Adonis Daveline Stockholm?" asked the chief of police to reassure himself of what he had just heard.

Rey nodded in agreement. "Do you know Dave?"

"That is none of your business. Then, tell your friend that we will be waiting for him at the East Jakarta police station to be questioned about this incident."

"Huh? I thought Dave and I would be arrested too, wouldn't it? It's okay, sir. Besides, my friend is strong enough to be asked for information."

"I already said, it's not your concern. Besides, the students who did the crime I brought with me will also be rushed to the hospital first because their condition is too badly injured like that. If your friend Dave has got enough rest, you can bring him to report to the Police."

Rey straightened up, puffed out his chest and saluted the head of the police team until that middle-aged man left the island first.

Rey turned back to Dave who was still hugged very tightly by Jean as if the girl didn't want to let Dave go forever. Finally they got on the boat and returned to the port early to take the bus and return to school.

It took the teachers a while to release Jean from Dave when they arrived at the main port, because Jean would be riding in a special vehicle belonging to the school while Dave wanted to return to school by motorbike. He does not want to leave his beloved motorbike at the vehicle storage in this port for a long time.

Just as Dave was about to start his motorbike, a girl stood nearby, causing Dave to turn his head.

"What are you doing? Aren't you going back on the bus with the others?"

"Dave, can I come with you on the motorbike?" asked Dita who made Dave smile widely with a mocking expression.

"Are you that suffering wanting to ride with me?" Dave asked, showing Dita a rather annoying facial expression.

"Eh, who said that? How confident you become a person! I heard from Rey, he said your wound was quite bad, so I'm afraid something will happen to you on the road."

Dave took off the helmet he had been wearing earlier. "Dit, if you come, it means that the burden I have to bear will increase. Do you think my motorbike is light?"

Dita also turned his gaze to the ground. The hopeless face shown by Dita made Dave chuckle. Dave also gave Dita's helmet which was previously hanging from the rearview mirror of his motorcycle, making Dita lift her head back up. "Hah?"

"What hah heh hah heh? Do you want to come with me or not?"

"But you said, I just became an additional burden."

"Exactly. You're just burdening me." Dave replied, putting on his helmet and starting the engine. "But I'm willing to be burdened, as long as that person is you."

Dita frowned, not understanding what Dave had just said. "What do you mean by that?"

Dave chuckled softly and pulled the gas lever in his right hand hard, making a huge engine sound, startling Dita. "Hurry up and come up, I don't have the whole day sitting around here. Or do you want me to leave you here, so that you can be used as bait for fishing by the fishermen here?"

"Huh? Are you out of your mind? Don't make a scary joke like that! All right, I'll go up now."

Now Dita is on Dave's motorcycle seat. Dave looked back a little. "Hold on tight."

"Yeah yeah~"

Dita finally wrapped her arms around Dave's waist from behind and hugged him tightly.

On the one hand, she felt guilty for Jean for hugging her man. But on the other hand, she also couldn't lie to her own feelings.

The feeling that she also wanted to be with Dave.

Jean could see Dita hugging Dave from the special car the school had provided for her. Jean just wanted to dial Dave's number, but Jean knew that Dave would not pick up his call because he was carrying a motorbike.

Jean returned her cellphone to her bag and leaned back against the back of the chair where she sat. Jean looked out the car window and thought back to the time she watched Dave struggle and fight tooth and nail to save her. Even though she was under the influence of a high dose of stimulant drug, Jean still had not completely lost consciousness. It was clear that the girl could see all Dave was doing for her.

And at that very moment, Jean changed his perception of Dave.

Than just a man she likes,

Changed into a man she will love for the rest of her life.
