79 Dreams of lost memories

Aisling is sitting by the creek watching the small waterfall. It's strange there is no noise only peacefulness. As if she is trapped somewhere , looking out a window instead of sitting on the ground. The air is moving either as if time has stopped. She hears a crow call . That's strange nothing else is moving but a crow. Looking around she can't find it. Deciding to just sit and rest she lays down to stare at the sky.

The crow calls again, this time it is sitting on the ground beside her. In a flash of light a woman is sitting next to her. She looks at her confused though she seems oddly familiar.

"So we meet again child, I am here to keep my promise. You see we made a deal a little over a century and a half ago. You called me to take the powers of your ancestor because she caused so much pain to another. In doing that you changed the blood line. Then you asked me to forgive her which I did. The magic was taken away for a generation so that she could learn humility and love. Let me show you what your interference did. " with a wave of her hand Aisling sees her ancestors. The woman begins to explain what she is seeing.

"This is Ester , the girl you went back to save. She married her love they had four children after all. They lived very happily for the mist part. Ingrid is the one you called for me to take her powers away. She was like you she bore the gift. Though unlike you she had no compassion or love for anyone but herself. You asked as you were leaving that she find happiness and a child. I granted her that. Though she was not as happy as Ester she was not cruel like before. Her child grew up cold but not evil as he would have been had you not interfered. He protected his smaller cousin fiercely, always having her best interests at heart. He only got married and had a child after she did. Your original blood line was filled with powerful witches. It still is just slightly different stories than before. You did what they asked of you . You broke the curse and freed the two corrupted souls. So now we come to you . What is your hearts desire. Your blood and fate is interwoven with many . I can send you back to just after your wedding day. With all of your memories or I can give you a clean slate not knowing anything or having any magic. The magic in your family will be gone if you decide to start over without your memory. It is up to you." Aisling looks at her and her head begins to hurt. She begins to see all of the lives that have touched hers. She screams out for Astila.

Back in the hospital room she is seizing and her heart rate is racing. Astila pushes for the nurses to come quickly with the Dr. He sits on the bed beside her pulling her in his arms whispering to her.

"Stay with me do not leave,I am here. Please come back." His heart feels like it is breaking , he doesn't understand why he feels so desolate with her in this state. When the Dr arrives he sees Astila rocking her singing in a different language. Her vitals are coming back down to normal. When she has stopped seizing , he lays her back down so that they can examine her. He walks over to the window to look out . There sitting on the roof looking at him is the eagle. When the others leave he sits watching the bird outside . It comes and stares at him through the glass. Their eyes connect and Astila is standing on a mountain ridge over looking a river. There is a shaman standing before him instead of an eagle.

"We meet again my son. You came when she needed you before , though you may not remember now. You both took great risks to save two cursed souls. In doing that you changed her present. Right now she is in this state remembering your past together. The choice she is to make now is will she live her present as it is , or will all that happened before be remembered. When her decision is made she will awake. Do not worry you two are fated either way. You just might have to work a little harder this time to get her love. Stay close do not get discouraged." With a tap on his shoulder Astila wakes from the strange dream. There standing in front of him is Aisling's uncle and his friend. He looks at him in surprise .

" when did you get here ? Just how long did I sleep?" Standing up as if in attention.

"At ease some your not in the military anymore. My wife and I took the first flight out . We were to worried to wait for updates. Here is a key to the house go get some rest . Your room is the one directly across from the bathroom." He hands him a key and makes him go promising to call if anything happens. Astila reluctantly leaves to go back to the house. Maybe he can get some rest and figure out why he has such an empty feeling.
