John arrives at the hospital and Astila is waiting for him. Astila looks at the older man thinking to himself he looks so much older than just a few months ago. Going over to shake his hand he asks. 

"Where do you want to start?" John shakes his head. For the first time since he gave his heart to God he doesn't know what to do. 

"I don't know ,but since I was told to see you instead of just going to my regular Dr . I assume it has something to do with my heart. Uktena didn't say he just said to have you check me out." Astila sighs and says ok. 

"First we will do an eco cardiogram. Then based on what we find we will go from there. " he takes him to the radiology department. Introducing him to the tech Astila stays close by to see the scan first hand. Once the tech starts Astila listens closely to the sound of his heart. It's laboring and missing beats. He excused himself and goes to arrange another test. Running into Moll as she is leaving he asks her for a favor. 

"I think John has a pulmonary embolism, he is having an echo now . Don't tell anyone what's happening till I talk to John just let Aisling know I may not be home tonight." She hugs him and agrees . Walker is coming down the hall and sees the two of them . He sees the worry on Astila's face. This young man never worries so what is going on. He greets them and asks 

"What is going on? I have never seen you have a worried look. " Astila sighs and tells him.

"Aisling's Uncle is having an eco and by the sounds of the heart it could be PE . I'm on my way to arrange an MRI. If it is will you perform the surgery. I will assist but I truthfully do not know if I can operate on him. He has become like a father to me if something goes wrong I don't know what I will do. " Walker looks at the man in front of him, he is normally very cold hearted that nothing can shake him. He cannot say no to him. 

"Of course I will but I don't have hospital privileges here. Won't that cause a problem?" Astila hears a welcoming voice behind him. 

"Absolutely not, there will be no problems if my boy says you are to do it then you will" Audis is standing there with His daughter. Astila gasps and gives the man a hug tears form in his eyes from missing him. 

"Walker meet Audis , How did you get here? I thought you were in Chicago." Eva shoots her dad a look and hugs him. 

"He said he could not be away when the family needed him. So we left after your call this morning. So what has happened did Cora take a turn for the worst?" Astila takes a deep breath closes his eyes and tells them

"You mean like you did when you just took over my operating room to perform emergency surgery on Debra. You know it took me weeks to smooth bruised egos after that. It's not a problem, I may not be the chief of the hospital anymore but it's still my hospital. You take care of my family I will take care of everything else . I am going to see Cora after talking to the chief of staff." The two walk away and head for elevator to Audis's old office. Walker and Astila go to get John's MRI ready . 

the nurse comes to get John and take him across the other side of the department to the MRI room. There Astila and Walker are waiting for him. John sees Astila's face and smacks the back of his head. 

"Ya! How are you supposed to give confidence to your patients if you have that look on your face. I know it's something serious but I have faith in God and I believe in you. I know you are a accomplished surgeon, there is nothing you can't do. So give it to me straight what are you looking for?" Astila looks at Walker and he tells him what he believes it is. 

"I believe you have a pulmonary embolism,I need the MRI to confirm it. The thing is that we have a small window to do surgery. It's not something we can wait on . If my diagnosis is correct then it could rupture anytime and you can die. Once we know for sure and where it's located we will need to take you straight into surgery. " John sits on the MRI table and looks up at the ceiling. He covers his face with his hands and nods. 

"Ok , let's do this but no one is to know about it till after the surgery has started. I do not want to have them hovering and crying. No one is to know. Astila if anything happens to me take care of them ok. " John lays down on the table and they start the test. It's positive ,Astila calls the surgical team and they have him inside the operating room in less than thirty minutes. Before John goes under anesthesia Audis comes in to the pre-op room. 

"Hey my old friend, I came yo pray with you before they put you under. " John's eyes well up with tears at seeing his friend. They hug and both men cry. Audis tells him. 

"You are going to be ok there is no way God would have me lose both of you so soon. You know you are the brother I always wished for and am grateful to call you that. Now let's pray." Bowing their heads the four men along with the surgical team hold hands and start to pray when the curtain opens. Lifting their heads they see Remi,Aisling,Moll and Maureen standing there. Astila looks at them in shock John stuttering asks them.

"How did you know ?" Moll smacks him and then kisses his cheek. 

"You know how we know with out asking so let's get this prayer started so that you can get better. Don't worry only we know and our husbands of course. They are outside there isn't enough room in here. Especially with all of us being pregnant. " she takes John's hand and nods to Audis to start.

"Heaven Father we entrust our brother into your hands. May you guide the surging hands to get the job done quickly. Father I thank you for John he has always been there for each of us. We ask that you heal him completely and let him be with us for many more years Amen." They all look around and nod to each other before going out to the waiting room. Astila and Walker go get scrubbed in for surgery. John closes his eyes as he begins to sleep from the anesthesia. 

John opens his eyes and he is in the garden there sits Uktena. 

"You know something was wrong with me and warned me for that I thank you." Uktena smiles and shrugs. 

"They are not ready for you to go. When Cora was here she talked endlessly about you. I had already seen what was going to happen so I asked the father if we could spare the family of the pain. That it would be to cruel to have them lose you with your brother away and Cora still mending. He told me to do what I liked since you have been such a faithful servant. So I sent you to be checked. I'm glad you didn't wait till tomorrow this will make it easier for them to take care of. You see you were to die in two days now you will be holding great grandchildren before you die. Continue to serve the father faithfully and live your life to the fullest. You make rest here until your surgery is over. Take care my son and love your life." Uktena gets up and walks into the woods as John closes his eyes to rest. To John it seemed like mere moments since they put him to sleep. In fact it had been several hours. When he wakes up his bed is surrounded by his family. His wife holding his hand smiling at him. 

He smiles and says thank you to God and to everyone who made sure he was going to be ok. The charge nurse comes in and shoos everyone out. Clicking her tongue at them mumbling under her breath. "You would think that Audis was still in charge with how you break the rules now go only one person at a time ." She glares at the family while fixing John's covers. Patting john's hand she tells him 

"Now Reverend you get some rest and please don't be difficult and follow the rules." She goes out and let's his wife come back inside .
