186 Audis comes home

Marshal pulls Walker and Astila aside to talk . 

"So is he going to be ok now? " Walker decides to tell everyone at one time what Johns's needs are going to be. So he asks the nurse to get his wife. Once the family is all together he begins his explanations. 

"John had a pulmonary embolism, which is a artery blocked by a blood clot. since we removed it before it could rupture he will have a full recovery. Now he needs rest and less stress, his diet needs to be changed slightly. I did not see any blockages or problems with his heart; He will need to be more careful with doing anything that can cause bleeding. I have put him on a blood thinner to help reduce the chance of another clot. I'm not sure how active he is but a daily walk would be beneficial. We are going to keep him connected to the EKG to monitor the heart. I want to make sure that his heart is fully back in rhythm, that he has no Arrhythmia. Now do not be angry with Astila he was following patients orders. It was a situation where time was short. If we waited for the family to be informed he could have gone critical. If that had happened his survival rate would have become virtually nonexistent less than ten percent. So we took measures to give him the best chance of survival." 

John's wife gets up and walks over to Astila embracing him. 

"Thank you for your care of my husband, I know we had a little of a rough beginning but I am so happy and grateful to you." she wipes her tears and goes back to sit with her husband. Audis stands and makes an announcement. 

"I've decided to sell the house to Aisling, I know she will take care of it and by rights it should be hers. When we were on the verge of losing the hospital she stepped in and gave the money needed to keep it afloat till the merge with the university was completed. I want to come home but I don't want to live in the big house by myself. So if Winona and Brayden are ok with it then I want to move in with them. Eva dear I have loved visiting but your home isn't my home. I'm to active to be cooped up in the house with nothing to do. This way I am close by to help John and I have already have talked to the new Chief I will stay on as a consultant. When I die the house will go to Aisling, it is her payment for bailing out the hospital. Everything will stay as it is for now. Eva I love each of you children equally and you need not to worry you will still get an inheritance. You have Aisling to thank for that, I would have had to sell everything to keep the hospital if she had not stepped in. She never asked for anything in return so that is her reward. " Audis looks beseechingly at his daughter. She nods and embraces him. 

"Son,I know you have feelings for Winona . Norma told me before she died, that you were starting to look quite smitten. If at anytime you want to move out of the room at the bar. You are welcome to come live at the house. With me there no one will gossip. " patting Marshal on the shoulder giving him something to think about. Marshal smirks and looks to the heavens whispering "Thank you old hen, I miss you." Marshal goes in to talk to his dad he needs to have some quiet time with him. 

when Audis gets back to the waiting room he hears Winona talking to Eva 

"It was a godsend that your father allowed my son and I move into the house. You are lucky to have such a close family." Her voice is kind of soft almost frightened. 

"I know to some it's a blessing , but in many ways it's a curse. At least that is how my siblings and I have always felt. You can't ever go anywhere or do anything without someone being there to get into your business. When ever I would get into trouble I would come home and mom would already know everything. The funny thing is that most are not even blood related but they are still family. My mom always said it not blood that makes you a family it your heart. I have always resented that I have a huge family both by blood and not. I was hoping to have my dad to myself but it's not what's best for him. So take care of him for me and keep me updated on how he is. I know that he will be well taken care of by every person in this room. I just wish it was me taking care of him." Tears slip out of eva's eyes and she wipes them . Turning her head she sees her Dad . Eva bows her head in shame for a few of the things she said. Audis sits next to her and takes her hand. 

"There is no reason for you to be ashamed of how you feel. Your mom and I always knew you felt that way. That's why we never tried to change your mind when you wanted to move away. We love you just as you are there is no need to change. Our family is not like most we are unique in the fact that we don't just look at blood. Aisling's parents joined our families and we became one family. For us it wasn't something we thought about it just became our reality. We each have to walk our own paths and be who we want to be. I have always allowed you and your siblings to do just that. Just know that your family is always waiting without judgement and with open arms." Eva lays her head on her Dad's shoulder basking in his warmth and love. Evs tjinks to herself that she needed this trip home more than him . 

Winona stands and takes brayden's hand she looks at Crystal and aks. 

" Crystal why don't you come for a sleepover tonight. That way your mom can stay a little longer , I think HeJin made moon cakes earlier today. " Crystal jumps up and runs to give Remi a hug bye . She then gives Audis a big tight squeeze. 

"I live you my Audis , I'm glad that you are back home we can go treasure hunting together. You know auntie Norma his a treasure for us to find. So that's what we are going to do. She says that when we find it we have to call Eva right away." She gives him a big smile showing him that she lost her first tooth. He flicks her nose and tells her. 

"You betcha as soon as it gets warm. That is what we will do. Did she say why we have to call Eva when we find it?" Crystal motions for him to lean in close. 

she whispers into his ear. 

"She says it's something that Eva lost but it's someplace she can't reach anymore. Do you think Eva will want to help us find it? Since it's hers after all." Audi's looks at his daughter thinking to himself this may be just what Eva needs to feel close to her Mom again. He winks at Crystal and tells her. 

"We will start in the morning unraveling the clues maybe we can find it before she leaves." Crystal and Audis shake on it before she leaves. Audis wonders what Norma has planned for their daughter. He guesses they will find out starting in the morning. Leaning back in his seat he closes his eyes and thinks to himself lord it's good to be home. 

Walker has been sitting in the corner just watching the interactions of this family. Most hospitals would be demanding that this many people leave but they work so well together that not one disrespectful word has been spoken. He is used to having break up fights by now. Not even Audis's announcement cause any real problems. It's amazing to him there are at least thirty people in this room, they have not argued or said a harsh word. It was a surprise to him that Audis allows strangers to just stay in his house, he can see where his daughter has her concerns . It's just seems to be who they are, even when he went to Astila's home there were like a dozen people living in the house.
