79 Chapter 79: Darkness

Hazel glared at the guy, who always seem to do things according to his wishes. How dare he pull her into this position!!

She gritted her teeth angrily as she bit into his hand, which was covering her mouth, hard making him yelp in pain. Her lips lifted into a smirk seeing his face frown in pain.

'Ha! That's what you get for acting like this!'

Usui swayed his hand as he looked at the bite mark in the middle of his palm. He stared at her and thought whether his fiesty woman liked to bite him.

'Damn it! it was the second time.'

Hazel huffed pleased with her actions before her eyebrows knitted together as she rubbed her wrist.

'Damn this guy...Didn't he know how to be gentle towards a girl?!'

Hazel gritted her teeth as her eyes glared daggers at him. Usui looked at her softly with the little light through from the bulb over their heads. He raised his eyebrow in surprise to see her feisty glare before his eyes traveled to her wrist. His eyes widened when he saw a glaring red mark against her snowy white skin.

Flustered, Usui grabbed her hand though gently as his eyes examined her wrist. Hazel fidgeted when she saw him holding her wrist close to his face. Her eyes almost popped out from her sockets when he gingerly placed his lips on her wrist, kissing away the discomfort she was feeling a minute ago.

Startled by her actions, Hazel watched as he gave her soft pecks all over her wrist. She snapped out when his eyes met hers as if apologizing for the pain he caused.

Hazel turned her head away as her face blushed by his intense gaze. She mumbled, "You don't have to do that. My skin is just sensitive, it gets red from the slightest force."

Usui tilted his head as his eyes sparkled when he got to know one new thing of her. He thought he made the right decision in transferring here. He smiled widely as he thought of all the new things he would come to know about her.

Hazel gulped as she patted her dress nervously not knowing why she felt shy all of a sudden. She disliked the fact that her heart was beginning to turn soft towards him after that last incident. So, without saying another word, she turned around to leave. Right as she was about to reach the entrance, she felt her surroundings blur, and before she realized she was in his arms. Again!

She was pushed against the wall with his arms caging her. Hazel glared at him annoyedly, "What do you think you are doing?"

"Why are you leaving?"

"Huh?" Hazel was dumbfounded. 'Did he expect me to stay in this dark room?'

As if reading her mind, he cleared his throat as he rephrased his question, "Why are you running away?"

Hazel tilted her head as if asking him silently.

'Are you alright? Did you hit your head in the duel before?'

Usui turned his head away dodging her gaze. He muttered something which wasn't audible to Hazel.

Usui exhaled before turning his head to speak when his lips brushed against her small nose. That small contact made both of them freeze as they felt a spark course through their body.

Hazel cleared her throat as she moved back into the shadows, hiding away from the light, hiding her red face. She was grateful that the room was shrouded in dark except for the small light above their heads or her red face would have made someone jump in joy.

Hazel looked at him from the shadows and saw him rub his nose awkwardly. Suddenly remembering, she asked irritatedly, "Didn't you say it would take a while before we meet?"

She was disturbed when she saw him appear in the Council room. She couldn't quite grasp whether it was annoyance or joy she felt when that familiar face sauntered his way in.

She had thought or hoped, she could be away from this guy as long as she stays in her academy. Naturally, the distance and time would make him forget her, Right?

But, why did he come here? Why did he transfer ruining all her plans? Why did he not stay in that place far away from her? Why did he have to always break her walls?

He always ruins her plans.

Usui stared at her as a wide smile blossomed on his face. His hands slowly left the wall as he cupped her face, making her look at him.

He looked into those green eyes tenderly and asked softly, "Did you miss me?"

Hazel gulped feeling his intense gaze on her face. Her lips trembled as she tried to speak up but no words came to her lips. She squirmed uncomfortably when she felt him move closer to her. Now, both of them were covered in darkness but somehow Hazel could feel his gaze on her.

She pushed him slightly but he remained unperturbed as his fingers trailed down towards her neck.

'Why was he immovable in his stance?'

Hazel turned her eyes away as she focused on something other than his intense gaze in the dark. She could feel his breath on her face as her hands clutched her dress tightly. She closed her eyes until she felt his forehead knock against hers softly.

Usui sighed happily as he murmured, "I missed you so much."

Instantly, Hazel opened her eyes and looked at him remembering the time in the forest where he did the same. She remained silent as if refusing to speak aloud.

Usui slowly let go of her when he noticed her silence. He took a step back, observing her as he gave enough space for Hazel to let out her breath which she unknowingly held.

She gulped before looking at the blonde man in front of her who was smiling softly. Irritated by his glance, she tapped her feet impatiently and asked, "You didn't answer my question?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

'Yes, it was obvious'

Hazel didn't know what she was hoping to hear. Why did her heart skip a beat hearing his response? She didn't know why she was asking him when she already knew the answer.

Hazel frowned as she couldn't understand her emotions for the first time. She shrugged away her thought as she didn't want to dwell on it too much.

"Didn't you realize how you caused us to increase our workload?"

Usui's face dimmed when he heard her accusation. To be honest, he didn't realize that his leaving would make his academy... Sorry, ex-academy acts against their longtime rival.

He was infuriated when he heard they injured innocents just to satisfy their anger. Why didn't he know his former academy was like that before?

He rubbed his forehead when he remembered how he didn't care about measly matters, nor did he care about any of his former classmates. Hell! he didn't even remember their names.

All he cared about was his training, powering up. And, the only way he used to converse with people was through his sword.

Looking at the girl now, he couldn't believe how much he changed after meeting her. She made him feel all these alien feelings, making him want to grow closer to her. He was surprised when he found he was easy to get irritated with just a few words from the small beast. Also, he never thought he would miss someone as he did with her.

"You guys don't have to care about this, I can deal with this. I can just go back and make them stop."

Hazel raised her eyebrows in surprise but soon an evil smile replaced her countenance as she smiled at him.

"That won't work anymore... even if they do retreat after your talk, we wouldn't leave the matter alone since our students got affected in this."

There it is again, making him feel anger on behalf of all those people who got injured in this battle.

Usui sighed as he asked, "So what do you have in mind?"

She shrugged, "Same as what the others had planned. To greet them the same way they did but we would do it openly unlike them, we are not cowards to attack them from the shadows."

Usui smiled as he agreed with her.

"Count me in."

She shrugged and nodded nonchalantly and took a step forward to leave when he again pulled her back.

She annoyedly shouted, "What now?"

Usui smiled as he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her in his arms. He sighed as he placed his chin on top of her head.

He murmured, "All I wanted to do these past days was to hug you tightly. So, let me enjoy this brief moment."

Hazel stared blankly at the wall surprised by his request. She fidgeted slightly but soon, her eyes widened when she heard his heart's erratic beating. It was like music to her ears and unknowingly she moved closer to hear him more loudly.

Usui smiled as he felt her snuggle closer so he tightened his hold and hugged her tightly.

They stood there as time passed and  they hugged each other silently. Suddenly, they heard loud footsteps and students chattering coming towards their room.

Hazel's eyes widened when she realized her position. She gasped as she pushed him away and took a step back making Usui pout. He missed the soft warm feeling he was relishing in.

Hazel's eyes wandered around flusteredly before turning back and scurrying out of the room.

Usui chuckled when he saw her running for her life.

'Ah, she's so cute.'
