151 Chapter 151: Everything changed

The demon wanted to jeer at him for thinking that a measly human could defeat him.

Jinha froze as he looked at the guy in shock. He couldn't believe his eyes as he looked at the demon standing in front of him without a scratch on him. 

'T-That wasn't enough to destroy him?'

Liz could feel his hands trembling. She pursed her lips before tugging at his hand. Jinha shifted his eyes towards her and his heart winced. 

She was badly injured... badly!

"Jinha, leave me here and go to Hazel."

He parted his mouth in shock making Liz smile sadly, "You will die if you try to protect me. So, leave and save yourself."

Jinha laughed ridiculously as he furiously glared at her, "I'm not leaving you here even if it means I will die here."

Liz shook her head making Jinha tighten his hold around her. 

"He is strong... we can't defeat him."

Jinha listened to her words and looked at the demon who was drifting in the sky. He looked at his spear lying beside him and slowly, carefully laid her on the ground. 

He grabbed his spear and said, "We will never know that unless we try."

He glanced at her and smiled, "We could at least stall time for the rest to arrive."

Liz wanted to refuse his plan. She should have realized it before. Everyone must be in battle given the time they have started battling and no one appeared. But before she could deny it, she saw him disappear.

She turned around instantly and saw him dashing towards the sky. His spear was blocked by the demon's finger before Jinha pushed him and leaped backward.

Jinha had his brows drawn together as he stared at the demon, who was watching him blankly. 

The demon observed the human in front of him and thought, 'Looks like what he heard about the humans were true.'

His lips lifted as he mumbled, "Stupid fools"

He raised his eyes to meet his and as if the look disgusted Jinha. He rotated his spear as lightning surrounded him and attacked the demon. Sparks flew around them as they exchanged blows but it stopped when the demon caught hold of his spear. He gripped it tight and threw him towards the ground at a speed invisible to the naked eye.

Jinha crashed on the ground in a loud noise. The ground vibrated from the force he had crashed. He closed his eyes as he groaned in pain. His body hurt everywhere but he still turned around to glare at the demon. 

Jinha pushed him away and jumped out of the dent he had created. He dusted away the rocks from his shirt as he rotated his spear and looked at the demon. 

The silver-haired guy snarled and black lines expanded across his body. His claws grew large as he glared at the human.

Jinha gripped his spear tight as he dashed towards him, dodging all the slashes thrown at him. His eyes noticed how the ground sizzled under each slash of his making him press his lips into a thin line.

Instantly he appeared behind the demon and rotated his spear. He yelled loudly and struck the demon. But, his spear was blocked by something making Jinha frown.

He leaped back and saw the skin on his back move, making him scoff in disbelief. The skin slowly opened like a flower blooming on his back. He gaped at the silver-haired guy who was glancing at him with dark black wings on his back.

"Now, let's finish this, human. You should be proud that you made a demon use his full power."

Jinha's eyes widened when he felt his aura expand, suffocating everything around him. The ground beneath him blackened as it expanded towards him. Jinha watched how the grass died when they got affected by his aura. 

Before he could react, he saw ice appearing beneath his feet.

Abruptly he turned to look at Liz whose hands were touching the ground. The darkness stopped before the ice for a minute, before it gradually covered the ice turning it black. 

Liz gritted her teeth as she tried to form a wall around Jinha. She got on her feet, struggling but before she could take another step. The silver-haired demon appeared before her, with his eyes narrowed.

She saw him raised his hand to strike her making her close her eyes instantly. After a second, Liz opened her eyes and saw a huge body stand in front of her.

"Jinha..."

He groaned in response before he used his spear to stab the demon, taking him by surprise. The demon leaped back holding his arm which was bleeding profusely.

"Shh" Jinha mumbled as he held her tightly. He peeked at the demon through the corner of his eyes before it drifted towards the students gaping at them.

Yet, he couldn't find the person he was searching for.

'Hazel? Where are you?'

Liz didn't need him to speak up as she realized what he was feeling.

She clutched his shirt and mumbled, "She must be on her way..."

Jinha nodded his head. 

With the number of demons inside the academy, it would be no surprise if she comes across a demon.

Liz looked at the furious demon before them. She pursed her lips before she looked at Jinha and said, "Let's do that, Jinha."

"What are you talking -" Jinha's voice faded when he looked at her determined eyes. He understood what she was referring to but it was just risky.

Too risky!

He was about to reject her idea when she narrowed her eyes and stated, "You know that's the only way."

"But you will not survive."

Liz looked at him and smiled, "I believe in her" 

Jinha pursed his lips, understanding what she meant. But...

He looked at her and sighed.

"You better be alive after this"

Liz smiled as she watched him walk towards the demon. Jinha shook his head as he approached the demon slowly. Taking a deep breath, he rushed in with hope running in his mind.

Jinha attacked the demon repeatedly making sure to keep him busy here. He could see Liz standing on the field with her battered body.

Liz looked at the fight before her and closed her eyes. Instantly ice and fire hovered over her palms making her inhale deeply. She slowly brought her mana together, fusing them.

When the magic was beginning to fuse, she looked up just in time to witness Jinha summon lightning and attack the demon. His speed increased as he used lightning in all his attacks.

"Lightning bolt"

Lightning descended upon the demon instantly, brightening up the academy ground. He moved back towards Liz and looked at her before he put his hand over hers. Instantly blue mana covered their palms as it began fusing with her magic.

They were distracted when the lightning suddenly disappeared and the demon was in view. His clothes were messed up and his arm was bleeding. They saw how he turned towards them murderously but stopped when amusement flashed across his face.

Liz and Jinha gripped each other tightly as they announced loudly, "Fusion magic: Firebolt"

The massive ball shot towards the demon like a bullet speeding across the field. The silver-haired guy condensed a small ball of dark energy to counter-attack. He was watching the attack cautiously and finally when it approached him. 

He smirked.

"Let's make them taste defeat"

Instantly he threw his dark energy ball which lit in many directions before it attacked the massive energy ball. Dark lights shot across the fields before it minimized and attacked the huge ball.

Liz and Jinha were sweating profusely as they tried to hold their ground but the pressure was too much on their wounded body. 

They could feel their vision blur and was desperately trying to hold it together. Before they knew it, the dark energy broke through their attack and attacked them.

A loud explosion occurred in the field shoving them away, towards the wall.

Jinha groaned loudly as he opened his eyes and stared at the dark sky. He instantly turned around and looked at Liz who had her eyes closed and laid immobile on the ground.

"Liz?"

He called out to her worriedly but when she didn't respond to his call. He started crawling towards her, ignoring the cry of his body. As he was about to reach her, he felt a sudden force hit him. He flew some distance before he crashed against a pile of boulders.

Jinha coughed up blood as he slid down to the ground. He tiredly looked up and saw the demon's furious face. 

The demon was standing right in front of Liz and asked tauntingly, "Weren't you worried about her?"

He looked down at the battered girl and coldly smirked, "Then, watch how she dies in front of you"

Jinha protested as he tried to stand up but his body finally gave up on him. His eyes widened when he saw him raise his claws to stab her...

When everything changed!

The thunder roared across the sky and instantly purple lightning shot out from the clouds, racing towards the demon. The demon widened his eyes as he moved backward, timely dodging the attack.

He panted as he saw the smoke cover the spot he stood before. He frowned when he saw a figure bending down towards the girl.

'Who?'

He got his answer when the smoke faded and the figure turned towards him furiously and barked.

"Don't touch my friends"
