152 Chapter 152: Lightning

Why didn't she notice it before?

But then her mind asked her, "Would that have mattered?"

Honestly, no... Hazel was sure of that. It wouldn't have mattered because she only saw him as someone who needed help, who wanted a friend...like her.

She stopped by the stairs, gripping the bracelet in her hands tightly. Earlier she realized that the bracelets were tampered with as it didn't glow when she pressed the crystal.

Right now, all she could hope was that she wasn't late. Even though she had seen the guy only in the shadows, she could remember how menacing his aura was.

Hazel hurried her steps downstairs and didn't stop as she turned for the exit. She panted and looked around with a frown when she noticed no one in the area.

Suddenly she heard a loud explosion which made her heart drop. She looked towards her right and quickly picked up her speed.

Her footsteps slowed down when she saw some students gathered around with horrified faces. Some were having injures while some were messy. When she followed their gaze, her heart grew cold at the sight in front of her.

Her friends...

Hazel gritted her teeth as she stared at Liz who was wounded severely and Jinha who had his head down, leaning against some rocks. Blood pooled around him and yet he was trying to get up.

She stepped closer to the students and said frostily, "Go check on the others."

The students widened their eyes when they saw their President beside them. Some boys who worshipped her crazily, kindly approached and advised, "President, Come with us. We can divide and quickly round up the other members."

Everyone knew for a fact that Hazel was the President only because no one in the higher ranks wanted to take it. Even though they knew it, no one complained about it because Hazel was still the fourth-best student.

But they didn't want her to join this battle.

Hell! Even Jinha failed in defeating the demon which just meant that no one stood a chance against the demon.

And, yet they saw how furious their President was at a glance.

Her eyes were narrowed and her face was contracted in anger.

Hazel had long ignored the students after ordering them that she didn't hear their so-called concern. Her eyes were focused on Jinha and Liz who was pretty badly wounded. Liz was lying on her front, immobile on the ground. There were several injuries on her body while Jinha was leaning against the boulders.

Her face froze when she saw the demon appear before Liz with his claws stretched out. Before she knew it, she unleashed her aura, scaring the boys standing by her side.

They widened their eyes in disbelief as they stared at Hazel as if she was a ghost.

H-How was she able to control lightning?

She was a dual mage?

Millions of questions ran across their mind as they watched her disappear and appear in front of Liz. They gulped when they saw the black dent near Liz before they turned towards the demon who had a stunned expression.

They couldn't blame him... even they were stunned by their President's power.

Hazel ignored all the stares on her as she bent down and turned Liz over. Liz let out a groan before she slowly opened her eyes and smiled at Hazel.

"I knew you would come."

Hazel remained silent as her lips trembled glancing at her body.

She closed her eyes as she whispered, "I'm sorry for being late"

Liz mustered a smile and said, "Silly girl! don't blame yourself. I should have been stronger."

Hazel looked at her and shook her head denying her words. How could she be able to accept that? when she almost lost her friends.

Suddenly she felt her rage boil inside her furiously as if she wanted to destroy everything before her. She clenched her hand and fed her a pill. Instantly she saw her complexion get better, making her sign in relief.

Hazel slowly placed her near the wall and murmured, "Wait here for me. I will be right back"

Liz nodded her head before she turned to Jinha who had a weary expression on his face with his eyes zeroed on Hazel. Hazel looked at him who managed to smile at her. Her heart winced seeing his tired smile.

Seeing the state of her friends, she wanted to plunder the demon to the depths of hell that he would regret ever messing with her.

She shifted her eyes towards the silver-haired demon looking at her stunned. Her lips curled up as she glanced coldly at him.

Thunder rumbled in the sky as if it was waiting impatiently for her call. Streaks of pure purple crackled against a stormy blanket of grey, shrouding hot silver clouds with its blinding incandescence, emanating the might of an imminent tempest much like her rage.

Hazel smirked as purple lightning swirled around making her look like she was wearing a crown. She didn't speak as she attacked the guy immediately with a flick of her finger. Lightning raced towards him, attacking him as he dodged her attacks.

Each time he dodged, he saw the impact of the lightning on the ground making him look at her in shock. But to his horror, she was already in front of him with her dagger withdrawn.

When did she-

He was cut off when he saw her dagger coming down at him. Hurriedly, he shielded himself with his claws. But to his horror, he could feel the heat on them.

Confused, he looked up and saw the dagger was shrouded in a dark purple aura. He was being pushed back by a mere human and that thought made him go berserk.

Everyone came to their senses when they witnessed their President fighting furiously with the demon making all of them stump for words.

All long they thought their President was just beautiful... they never thought she was strong. They gulped when they looked at Jinha who had a small smile on his face as he watched her fight.

Apparently, their President was stronger than Jinha. The difference in levels was evident with the color and the intensity of the battle.

Suddenly one of the guys from the Crystal Kingdom, nudged the other and whispered in shock, "Hey... isn't that general Freya's dagger?"

The guy looked at the other in ridicule, "Are you blind?"

How can the mighty general's dagger in our President's hand?

But when he turned to look at her, he was stunned to his feet. It was the very same dagger... the same blue crystal in the dagger shone brightly as it absorbed the lightning and used it against the demon.

"Oh my god!!! General Freya was Princess Hazel. They were the very same from the beginning!!!" the other shouted.

The other guy still argued, "You can't be sure about that. It might just be a coincidence."

The guy rolled his eyes in response, "Do you remember General Freya's magic?"

The other guy gulped as he nodded. How could he not when he witnessed it directly?

"And, princess just used lightning as if she was already well versed with it."

The other guy was lost for words as all the things pointed to one thing.

Princess Hazel was General Freya... the one who protected them from the frontlines... the one who almost died during the last battle with the demon.

Even though all she needed to do was stay within those safe walls, she chose to fight.

He looked down and mumbled, "My father would be shocked by this news."

The guy's father was one of the ministers in the castle and he has always heard his father complain how weak their princess was. That she only had beauty and was a barrier to the throne for the little Prince.

But now... he would be shocked beyond words.

Hazel leaped back towards Jinha who smiled at her. She threw him a pill which he caught neatly and swallowed. Instantly he felt coolness around his abdomen making him smile relaxedly.

"Do you have a plan?"

Hazel turned towards him and smirked, "Should I have one?"

Jinha shook his head at her words before glancing at the crowd.

"Looks like your identity has been exposed."

Hazel shifted her eyes towards the crowd and shrugged, "I wasn't hiding in the first place." She looked down at the dagger which was gifted by her brother, Hezekiah, and said, "I just needed another identity."

Jinha nodded and looked at the demon who was panting heavily. He had cuts all over his body making his neat appearance reduce too messy.

Hazel took a step towards him, raising her sword to the sky.

"Let's not waste time, shall we?"

Abruptly, Lightning sizzled as it wrapped around her body, disappearing into hers emitting purple sparks. She was like the goddess of lightning descended from heaven to serve the price of harming her friends.

The demon looked at her in shock and mumbled, " You-you...How can it be you?"

How could he forget this person? He was well aware of who she was- the one who killed Lyndel. Her news was spread among the demons that everyone was eagerly waiting to battle her.

Even him... he slapped himself mentally thinking about his master who attacked the kingdom in hopes of fighting against her- Freya.

Hazel smirked, "Well too bad your spy didn't know much about me, right?"

The demon gritted his teeth as he looked at her in fury. Then he started laughing making Hazel tilt her head in confusion.

"Hahaha...That guy would be furious now. He wanted to battle you so badly that he gave me the task to deal with the academy but..."

Hazel paused as she glanced at him in shock.

'What?'
