155 Chapter 155: Ka-Chak!

Hazel peeked through her eyes as she panted heavily. She had used all of her energy on this battle and yet the silver-haired demon who was bleeding profusely was still standing.

His mad laughter reverberated across the academy making Hazel grit her teeth in displeasure. She wanted to hurry back to her kingdom but this guy was making things difficult for her.

Hearing from him that there was another attack going over at her kingdom, made her fret uneasily. The bad feeling loomed over her chest making her regret agreeing to his suggestion.

She should have gone instead of him!

Hazel shook her head as she muttered when she saw the demon turning around to look at her.

"Damn this guy"

The silver-haired demon laughed, "I, Izel, would never lose to a mere human."

Hazel pursed her lips as she glanced at him with her narrowed eyes. She punched her fists together and instantly thunder rumbled in the dark sky. Lightning sizzled through her fists as her emerald eyes coldly gazed at Izel.

Her eyes narrowed when she noticed his body twitching as he transformed in the middle of their fight. Hazel held her dagger as she dashed forward and struck Izel by his waist, causing a deep gash as her dagger slid through his waist.

Hazel ducked his hand and kicked him away which made Izel yell in fury. His hand held onto his abdomen which was bleeding profusely while his other was clutching his head where his horns had begun to grow.

Before he regained his senses, he saw from the corner of his eyes, lightning coming at him which made him dodge backward. Suddenly he felt a chill behind his back and turned around just in time to dodge the dagger to his face.

'Damn it...why is everyone aiming at his face?' Izel gritted his teeth as he moved back with his body trembling.

He snickered as his body grew in size and his voice deepened, "Woman, you sure are a hard nut to crack"

His laughter boomed across the academy grounds as he grew gigantic and black lines wrapped all around his body. He wiped the blood off his body as he said deeply, "It's been a while since I have used this form."

So he grinned as he cracked his knuckles, "So forgive me if I am a little rusty."

Hazel snorted as she played with a fireball on her palm while her arm sent out sparks now and then. Izel dragged his palm from the ground towards her and a deep gash formed on the earth's surface. Hazel activated lightning on her feet as she sped through his attack, dodging everything with her dagger stretched out.

But before she reached him, she saw him appear in front of her with claws raised to land a hit. Hazel blocked the hit with her dagger but the force made her bury her feet in the ground.

Hazel crashed against a tree and coughed madly before gazing at the demon with misty eyes. She looked down and saw the blood on her palms making her frown.

Standing up, Hazel pursed her lips as fire and lightning merged in her body. She dashed forward and met his attacks with her own. Their figures blurred as they exchanged blows until Izel caught hold of her wrist.

Hazel drew her brows together in pain as she glared at the smirking demon. She tried to kick him to which he dodged and held her wrist tightly.

"Now, let's pay you back"

Hazel widened her eyes when he threw her against the floor on opposite sides a few times before he kicked her away. Hazel slammed against the wall and splurted blood making Izel cackle loudly.

She groaned as she stood up swaying on her feet. Before she could blink away her blurriness, she felt her body being lifted and her face being pinched severely.

Izel brought her face closer to his face and murmured while gazing at her emerald eyes, "I should gouge those pretty eyes of yours and showcase them."

Hazel felt chills down her spine that her body automatically responded to the threat in front of her. Her body twisted on his hold as she threw a kick at him.

Hazel moved back a little as fire and lightning rose around her body. Her green eyes gleamed through the fire as she motioned a storm of fire towards the demon. She took out her dagger and hurried towards Izel dodging his slashes through her storm.

Her attacks were blocked by his claws making her tsk under her breath. She leaped into the sky, her figure looming in front of the moon. Her eyes gleamed as she directed the lightning to attack Izel.

Rows of lightning struck the demon as he dodged each one of them calmly as he was taking a walk in the park. His eyes were filled with amusement as he watched her lithe figure twist in the sky and sprint towards him.

'She is so interesting'

Hazel flew towards him, surrounded by blue fire and her dagger covered in a purple aura. As soon as she was nearing Izel, her body expanded into a blazing fire as she struck Izel.

But to her utter surprise, her flames disappeared when her dagger struck his claws. The moment it contacted, Izel's darkness blazed and his red eyes stared at her in amusement.

Izel caught hold of her neck and squeezed her tightly making Hazel struggle in vain. He smirked as he pulled her face closer to his and said, "You are a very feisty woman. I can see how you defeated Lyndel and the others but too bad, I am way powerful than them."

Hazel gritted her teeth hatefully as she tried to pry his fingers open. But to her dismay, he didn't loosen his grip instead tightened it.

The clouds rumbled angrily as the lightning struck him strongly to which he narrowed his eyes. One, Two...Five times but each time it struck, he increased his pressure around her neck.

He gritted his neck and said, "I should make you watch how I kill your friends in front of you."

Izel smirked before he threw her against a tree, which bent upon her crash. Hazel coughed madly and touched her throat making her wince slightly. Her misty eyes turned towards Izel who had already started walking towards Liz.

Hazel widened her eyes as she struggled to her feet.

No...No... he can't

She took a step forward and a loud Ka-Chak echoed across the grounds and in the next instant, a figure appeared in front of her shrouded in darkness.

'What is happening?'

Hazel was prepared to fight against him but to her surprise, the dark figure ignored her and walked towards Izel who was already trembling in fear.

Hazel furrowed her brows and looked down and saw the crystal she brought from the palace reduced to pieces.

She wondered, 'Wasn't this the one they were looking for?'

On seeing that the crystal has been crushed under her feet, she looked at the dark figure who emerged from it.

She could tell at one glance that it was only a part of one's power making her gulp in fear. Just how strong was the owner that his small portion already had tremendous mana enough to bury an entire kingdom?

She looked at Jinha who had already got up from the ground, half-recovered from her pill. If this dark figure turned on her, then she would have to prepare for an intense battle. Hazel quickly took out some pills and popped it into her mouth as she watched Izel shiver in fright.

She heard him stammer, "H-How is it possible? lord?"

Hazel raised her eyebrows, 'Lord?'

Was this the demon lord's power? No wonder the entire demon race wanted the crystal by all means.

The dark figure stopped in front of Izel and looked down coldly before it raised his hand. Izel yelled, "No lord... they were the ones who stole your crystal."

But the dark figure ignored his cries, as he sucked his dark energy into his body. Hazel widened her eyes in shock as she watched Izel vanish into thin air.

She raised her dagger when she saw the dark figure turn towards her, scrutinizing her. She frowned when she saw the dark figure hover instead of approaching her.

She walked slowly towards the figure, carefully and saw it gazing at the remains of the crystal on the ground before its red eyes turned to her.

She heard it whisper, "Human" before his body broke into dark black petals and flowed along with the cold night breeze.

....

Somewhere far away, in the forest

The forest was unusually silent as if the spirit beasts were scared to utter a sound. Out of nowhere, a pale white hand shot out from behind the trees, catching the black petals which landed squarely on his palm.

His long hair glistened in the moonlight as he gazed deeply at the petals. His red eyes stared at the moon and whispered, "Someone activated my powers, Strange!"

He looked at the faraway city as he mused, "Just who was it that knew how to activate my powers?"

Immediately, he shot straight up to the sky and smiled, "Looks like its time I appear to the world"

"Things have been chaotic in my absence. I wonder whether the world has anything interesting, unlike the last time."
