157 Chapter 157: Time

Booming laughter spread across the kingdom which sent chills down everyone's spine. The humans were devastated as they stared at the bloodbath in front of them. They couldn't even lift a finger against these demons.

One of the soldier's legs trembled as he moved back from the dead soldiers killing his teammates in front of him. His sword trembled on his hand as he stumbled back in fright.

When he saw the dead soldiers turn their attention towards him, he swung his sword in hopes of making them stay away. But to his horror, he saw them walk towards him with no intention to stop. Even when his trembling sword caused some cuts on their bodies, the dead soldiers just moved forward ignoring all the blood.

His tears fell when his teammate who had just died a minute ago, stand up weirdly and join the dead soldiers.

'Was he going to be like that too?'

He looked around and saw how much of a disadvantage they were in without the thunder squad members. The generals were fighting against some dead soldiers clearing a path as they walked, towards their injured king who was lying some distance away.

The soldier hit the wall behind his back, snapping him out of his thoughts. He looked at the dead soldiers in front of him with fear.

But before they could attack him, his vision was blocked by a huge earth wall, shocking him. He looked towards his left and saw the Prince who came with Prince Usui smiling at him.

What was his name? Ah! Zelal... Prince Zelal. The soldier watched as Zelal stood up swaying and whisper something. Suddenly he felt lots of screams making him look out of that protective wall around him.

His eyes widened when he saw the metal cage around the dead soldiers, trapping them successfully. Immediately the soldier turned towards the Prince to thank him, to see him fall forward.

The soldier's feet moved and held onto the cold body. He murmured with tears in his eyes, "Thank you"

....

Sirius looked at the damages around him with a grin on his face. He laughed out loud as he looked at the injured king near him. He strode slowly towards him.

Stopping in front of him, he bent down to his level. His demonic face just inches away from Julian's and smirked, "I can let you off on one condition"

Julian's eyes narrowed as he knew what he wanted. And, the answer was obvious too.

He would never agree to his conditions even if it means he will die today!

"I will spare all your lives if you make your daughter come here"

Julian scoffed, "Even if you will kill me, I will never agree to that damn conditions"

Sirius smirked, "I thought so too" and stood up with his eyes peering at Julian from above.

His vines rose from the ground, with its tips pointed at the king.

"Say, Goodbye, old man"

Right after that, the vines shot out towards the king but when it was just a minute away, a loud agonizing shout rang across the field.

"FATHER"

Julian widened his eyes as he swirled his head towards the voice, his eyes widening in disbelief.

Sirius glanced at the chubby small kid standing in front of all the corpses with his eyes burning in fury. He chuckled at the sight of his indignant countenance that he stopped his attack and turned to walk towards the kid.

Julian's eyes flickered when he saw the demon walking towards his son.

No...NOoo

He struggled to get on his feet but failed each time he tried. He would never allow this damn demon to harm his son.

Rin watched as the huge black demon strode slowly towards him. He was furious when he saw the monster was about to kill his father.

Kill his father!

Sirius laughed, "Little boy, Have you never heard of the term 'don't be nosy in adult's matter' ?"

Rin gritted his teeth when he realized that the monster didn't regard him as a competitor. He hated himself for being small, for being the one who was always protected.

First, it was his sister, now my father... just how many people should suffer before he could protect all of them?

Sirius laughed, "Well little kid since you are already here, let me ask you a question."

Rin glared at the demon who had stopped a few meters before him.

"Would you do me the favor of bringing your sister here for me?"

Rin raised his eyebrow and smirked, "Sure"

Sirius grinned in response until he heard the little guy's following words.

"You can meet her if you are worthy to stand before her presence."

Rin's smirk grew when he saw the displeased expression on the monster's face and continued, "So, the question here should be"

Tilting his head, he asked, "Are you worthy enough to stand before her?"

Sirius huffed angrily looking at the small kid. His eyes glowed in fury when he thought even a small kid dared to scorn him.

He barked, " Is this how a prince should behave?"

Rin nonchalantly asked, "Towards a monster? Not really, my sister had told me to more fierce but I'm just toning it down for your sake"

Before Sirius could clamp the annoying kid shut, he knitted his brows when he felt a force slam from behind. Raising his eyebrows he turned and saw the injured king standing with bloodied clothes, glaring at him murderously.

Julian snarled, "Stay away from my son"

Amused laughter escaped from Sirius's lips making Julian clench his jaw.

"Really, old man?"

Julian narrowed his eyes as he gritted his teeth. He clearly understood the ridicule behind those words. But in front of his son's life, he didn't care. He would even fight with death if he had to.

Rin's eyes widened in horror when he saw the wounds on his father.

"Father!"

Julian looked at Rin sternly but yet said gently, "Rin, go back to your mother and wait for me okay, Son?"

Rin's eyes welled up as he shook his head adamantly refusing his order.

"Looks like your son is hellbent on following you to death"

Julian glared at Sirius before summoning wind and dashing towards him. He covered himself in wind blades as he exchanged blows. But it was obvious from the fight, that the king was struggling.

Julian sent a storm through his palm right at Sirius who calmly flicked it away with his vines. He used one of his vines to slam the old man to the boulder making Julian grit his teeth in pain.

"Father...." Rin hollered before turning towards the monster and shouted, "Leave him"

Sirius looked at the little kid and said, "Sure... you can take his place"

Rin clenched his small fists as he took out his small wooden sword facing him. Sirius laughed imperiously before he faced the small kid.

Smirking he peeked at the king who had a horrified expression on his face. He shot out his vines towards the small kid to finish it with one strike but to his surprise, he saw the kid dodge the vines neatly.

"Well..at least you have some abilities so this wouldn't be boring"

Sirius smirked as he directed more four of his vines to attack the kid simultaneously. But again to his surprise, he saw the kid dodging everything neatly and appear before him instantly. Sirius's eyes widened in disbelief when he saw the little kid slash him with his small wooden sword making a small slight cut.

Sirius touched the wound and looked at the blood in disbelief. His eyes turned murderous when he saw the little kid panting while looking at him.

'What was that? A wooden sword was enough to harm him now? Heh'

Sirius glared at the kid before he directed all his vines at him. Rin's eyes widened when he saw the rain of vines above him. Gripping his wooden sword tightly, he moved to dodge a few but since the number was a little exceeding, some managed to prick his arms and legs.

Sirius let out a satisfied grunt before turning towards the old man who was horrified at the scene. Rin gripped his sword tightly as he looked at the monster in front of him.

A pure determination ran through his body. He will protect his family!

Without his knowledge, Rin's aura was changing much to the horror of Julian. He shouted, "Rin, get back inside Now!!!!!!"

Rin ignored his father's words as he focused on the incoming attacks. He clenched his jaw as his eyes flashed in determination.

He will protect his family!

And, exactly at that moment, time slowed for him as the vines stopped in front of him like it always did. Rin slowly moved away from some of the vines which would have attacked him severely and stood in front of those which didn't do much damage to him.

He didn't know why he could stop time. One day, it just happened naturally and all his parents and sister told him was: You are special, Rin. And, the kid believed that. He trained with this gift and now he could pause time for almost one minute.

But that wasn't enough now... He needed more power. Instantly he slashed his sword across space and the huge blow pushed the remaining vines away from him.

Rin raised his head and Sirius's eyes widened in surprise when he saw his eyes flickering between golden and emerald.

Sirius's smile faded as he glared at the kid. How could it be? How can one of them appear here?

His face darkened when he realized the disadvantage the demons would be if this kid was given the chance to hone his skill.

He should die!

Instantly, Sirius appeared behind Rin, raising his hand to pierce through his chest.

"RIN!!!!"

Rin turned around rapidly and his eyes widened when he saw the hand just inches away from his chest.

Was he going to die?
